I remember thinking WTF? He can barely walk, let alone run. He either has to hit it into a gap or out of the park. Then Vin says the roll of the dice comment and I'm thinking, "Yeah... no shit."
Then Gibby just freaking battled to a 3-2 count. Davis steals 2nd and a single would tie it. When Gibby swung like he did and hit the ball, I was excited because it looked like the single we needed to tie the game. How the hell he got enough of that ball to send it out with that swing and with two bad limbs is just amazing. But when he jumped up, I thought "no way!" As a life long Dodger fan that got to go to many games as a kid, that was beyond epic. It sends chills down my spine to this day.
I get your affinity for the Freese home run but the complete improbability of the Gibby home run is the stuff of legend.
