Yeah...he was steaming, and the way McVay usually says nothing makes this a scalding
I agree... never seen McVay so obviously pissed at Goff before.

McVay often says it’s his job to take pressure off the QB and make the QB’s job as easy as possible. But at that press conference, looked like he was calling his QB out.

(I didn’t watch today as I was frustrated after the 1st quarter)

wow, you missed a great comeback. should have toughed it out.

when the rams took the lead who would have thought they wouldn't win the game? alas.

so mcvay said it just can't continue to happen. that's with relation to taking care of the football and not executing. then more bluntly, the qb has to take care of the football.

shots have been fired. time for goff to stop making bonehead mistakes every game. if we took away his two bonehead turnovers on either side of the halftime break the rams would have been at least 13 points better off. there's the game right there.

mcvay can't call him out any more diplomatically that he did in that press conference. be he did call him out.

so goff has been warned. get your shit together.

No offense intended but I have a hard time believing Goff needs to be warned to play better. I bet he just fucks up more if he's under pressure to perform or else. Maybe he responds to it though.

That fumble of his while running, he totally wraps up the ball and fumbles anyway.... that kind of shit gets in your head man. Thats the play that fucked him up.

when goff came out there was no we in his answers. it was all i need to take care of the ball, i need to make better decisions, i need to execute better. shit was said after the game. i know he knows all that shit but sometimes the coach needs to reinforce it, forcefully, and i'm guessing he let goff know all about it in the locker room.

My take is this; 24hrs ago the Rams were all the rage. Tops in the NFC, maybe.

Losing a game by 3pts, to the defending NFC Champs sucks. And, how we did it was hard to watch and shitty.

Goff has shown plenty to work on.

Tom Brady has lost two in a row.

One week ago the shine was off Russell Wilson, “he’s forcing the ball”.

Derek Carr just laid an egg in Atlanta, after rumblings he’s on an MVP type season underground out there.

Tasom Hill has a 2 game winning streak. Stud player, right?

I dunno. We can drive ourselves nuts chasing the next Patrick Mahomes. At some point it comes down to team ball. There sure were a lot of times even the announcers picked up “there is no place to go with the ball”.

It’s team ball too.

Wilson really is the model for a QB that likes to use his feet. The way Jackson and Allen and Murray are taking several hits every game is problematic. They need to follow Wilsons example and get down every play. Don't take hits, or end up like Carson Wentz.

Scrambling QB's can have prolonged success, but not QB's that tuck it and take hits like a RB every game.
Murray doesn’t get hit very much. I live in Phoenix. He took a big hit the other day and they kind of blew it up.

I watch all the Zona games with Sunday Ticket. Been following him since High School out here at Allen TX where I live. His shoulder is bothering him. That's why he only ran 5 times and got down quickly. Had around 15 yards total. Previous 4 games he ran over 10 times each game. He's a phenom running the ball. But in my opinion he needs to follow Wilsons example and become a passer that runs sparingly and gets down. I've seen him take several hits this year. He's limited as a passer at this stage and needs to develop.

I didn’t watch today, stats seemed weird tho.

most of the season he seemed to avoid hits pretty well.

Every QB has off days , but don’t hand the other team 7 , 10, or 14 free points like Goff does.
His careless play has got to stop.
I guarantee there is grumbling in the locker room when the D works it’s ass off only to have Goff blow it. It’s only human nature to start to resent a 30 million dollar turnover prone QB. He hasn’t fixed or gotten better at anything in his 4th year under a decent head coach. They could’ve just as easily lost last week , giving the right ball back to Tampa in the 4th.
Eventually the D will break down like today.
Im glad McVay called his ass out today. It was long overdue.
There is no magic switch on the golden boy. He should lock himself in a room and watch what we witnessed today and several other games. His sloppy play and turnovers have led to 2 losses. It’s time to fix it

The good news, his coach is aware of that as you said. Goff’s press conference was all about that too.

At least that’s not a hidden problem. They are both saying it.

What else is sputtering? Because when we have these debates there are other similar things sputtering offensively.

Just a week ago, Goff set a record for passes on Monday night...

Anyone else concerned about two straight games being shut down in the running game?

McVay would have done Goff some favors pointing that out in his press conference.

I'm so glad I'm not crazy and there are plenty of other people seeing the same things and asking the same questions.

You dont set that record by being oversexed and overpaid and going through the motions. He is clearly working, involved and on the same page with his recievers.
But once his day starts to go bad and the run game isn't fooling anyone, he starts pressing.

Maybe the board's tune changes, but people don't, really.

He has his supporters and detractors and you hear more from one or the other depending on how he plays.

That and once a defense takes him out of his rhythm, he has a hard time finding it again.

I wasn't calling him a hero last week. He went from hero to zero all on his own last week against the Bucs.

i think it's funny how people are fawning over herbert. hilarious. they are 3 and 8. if he's so fantastic why have they lost 8 games?

team sport? or not?

he looks great out there ..... except when it's time to win the game.

so goff has had 3 bad games and the rams are 7 and 4. and these guys want the qb who has led his team to 3 wins?

am i in bizarro world?

The list is fucking endless.
I’ll toss in Kyle Boller, AJ Feeley and Nick Foles.
I think you all misunderstand me here. I mean like I feel a turnover is bound to happen on every drive. These other QB's sucked comparatively, but I still didn't have that anxiety every time they took the field. Maybe it is because we didn't have anything to play for at the time. Goff's play right now just scares me. It's a shame.
