Sometimes I see his coolness as coming off nonchalant. That is what I mean by saying he doesn't take the losses very personally.

Today you could see he thought it was on him.. maybe not the miami game - but today if you looked at his face it was written there.

He is just streaky. Really really streaky. The problem is, his bad games are abysmal and McVay doesn’t spot them quickly enough to adjust - he just keeps dropping him back and letting it fly.

We just need to hope we get good Goff in the playoffs. Cause one bad Goff game and we are out.

Young millionaire with hot girlfriend. Sometimes priorities shift away from work and can affect you’re performance. We’ve seen Goff play at a high level. He needs to start taking his job more seriously because he’s at risk of losing it.

I just don't think Goff sees these losses as they're on his shoulders. How do you get through to him and keep him motivated?
I really don't hope that in this case. Like if he believes that these losses aren't because of him, and it was because of the defense. F that. Instant red flag and no one should be leading men in that case.

This. How do we motivate Goff to get him playing liked the middle of the second quarter at the NFCC game? Plenty of pressure on him and still played excellent.

I know this will never happen but Goff needs a guy like Peyton Manning coaching him up. Someone that can get him to see the cerebral part of the game. Teach him how to read a field, command an offense, picking up on defensive tendencies. There's a lot of blame about McVay putting Goff into bad situations but how much does he need to hold Goff's hand? Rodgers had admitted that at times he pretends he doesn't hear the play call from LaFleur because he's confident enough to call and execute a play based on what the defense has been showing. Goff doesn't have "THAT", he needs ideal conditions. A good analogy is that he would rather listen to an audio book than actually read and comprehend the text.

WE KNOW he's capable as he was aces against the Chiefs.

Those days are long gone man. The '17 and '18 Goff is long gone. We had the best RB in the world those two years. Goff hasn't played a dominant full game since NO in the NFC championship game. That was a long time ago and since he has steadily gotten worse.

We all remember that KC or MIN greatness in 2018 and think that's what he is. But its not, in reality looking at his career those great games were anomalies and the average/bad play is much, much more common.

You shouldn't have to motivate a $30M QB on a great team, with a top 3 defense, who already got embarrassed in the super bowl.

I don't see a problem with Goff being motivated.

What I see is a problem with accuracy. A problem with vision. A problem with the OLines pass blocking. A lack of running the ball at least today. Questionable play calling on 3rd and short and on their last possession.

Here’s proof your wrong.

Chicago
Seattle
Tampa

Mahomes vs the same defense had 160 yards passing and the same abysmal performance until a Tyreek Hill got wide open down field and mahomes lobbed it up.

The Niners defense is simply that good with Sherman. It’s why they were in the Super Bowl.

Megamind Manning hire that man to coach up Goff...Damn fine idea. We need a good QB coach and he can be as old as Manning or even older. Why the hell don't we have any old curmudgeon wise minds on this team coaching up this kid?

Yet another sign that we need that speed threat.

We basically have 4 really solid WRs, great hands, excellent routes and great YAC.

What we don't have is a guy who the safety has to always keep in front of him.

Rodgers is what, 37 years old? Sure he’s confident.

Goff needs to continue to be coached, like other QB’s.

Disagree with most of that...Goff absolutely can play like that again, IMO.

... I feel like Mcvay gets blamed for the offense when really the issue is that Goff can't execute it consistently.
Truer words have never been spoken.

Even Goff admits it in his press conferences. But it's worse than just "I need to get better", it's now "I hope I don't have many more of these bad games". He is in his own head now. He is TRYING to pull out of it, but he is not able to and now is questioning his ability to ever fix it.

It's like a batting slump. Sometimes the ball looks like a beachball, sometimes it looks like a ping pong ball.

I don’t know who it would be , but next year they need to bring in a veteran QB to at least make Goff accountable. He either isn’t putting in the work , or he don’t care how he looks. He should be totally embarrassed with his play. Constantly gifting the other team 7 points is unacceptable. Good QB’s don’t do it
I give him all the credit when he’s on , but I’m doubtful that he will ever be the man. Something is missing

We have plenty good enough WR’s. Goffs long ball throws are nothing to brag about. No touch
Henderson was open by 5 yards and Goff throws an uncatchable line drive. Lob it and let the guy run under it.

Maybe the Rams should trade Goff for Mitch Trubisky....they play about the same and Trubisky only makes 28 mill a year.

Whether or not he "can" or "cant" play like that is irrelevant. Its whether or not he does play like that. And he hasn't since 2018.

Its been 30+ games since we've seen that Goff so hopefully he just flips a switch and starts playing like that again right? Doesn't work like that man, look at his trend.
