What are you talking about? Prior to Kupp's injury against Denver, he was #1 on the team in receptions, #2 in receiving yards (to Cooks), and #1 in receiving TDs.
No. Woods had 672. Cooks 643 and Kupp had 586. Referring to Kupp as Goff's security blanket is a myth.

@99Balloons 2. High percentage of run plays were straightup the middle like Jeff Fisher middle school offense.

Didn't Alana Morrisette do that umm ironic breaking song? Crazy how proof shows McVay "settled" and the harsh Fisher still gets to this day

Your numbers are wrong. Woods had 415 in the first 5 games, Kupp had 438, and Cooks had 452.

Said the same thing to my wife who doesn't watch any football except Ram playoff games. Wish our O-line which was fantastic all year would have shown up or at least made adjustments. Don't think Brady brought his A game but his HC sure did. Congrats to the Patriots and especially to the Rams who had a season to remember. One more thing: I feel terrible for the defense. They played a great game today. We'll put it all together next season and hopefully get back to the SB though I know there are no guarantees. Go Rams
And as to some of the people saying Wade needs to go, he brought his A game the last few weeks of the year and the playoffs. I guess he was saving his play calling to when it matters the most this year.

Romo was saying going vertical was the answer and Goff really had no time but it seemed like the Pats tried to put Gilmore on Cooks and it worked so what if the taller Reynolds had been the guy going deep, maybe if the throw is on time those are tds but maybe some size there works too. Throwing at their best corner is going to get you beat. Where is Kupp when we need him?

Another vent: I don't think we had a single target to Everett or Higbee, although I am open to correction on that. Why? Come on, McVay. Not even an attempt to get the TEs involved? I just can't believe how poor the offensive showing was tonight. As much as you have to tip your hat to the Patriots and their defensive game plan, come on. Not nearly good enough, Sean.

We didn't have Jordan Reed that's why

I used 8 game numbers as that was how many Kupp played

Except that ignores the fact that Kupp got injured against Denver and had to play injured after that. Prior to his injury, he was the team's #1 WR. Kupp also led the Rams in receiving yards in 2017. At best, you can argue that all of our WRs are #1 options. But there's no argument that a healthy Kupp is the #3 WR. He was on pace for 1400+ yards and 16 TDs before his injury.

freak that! It's the Superbowl! He has to make that play! He's been inconsistent with contested passes all year.
Agreed, I love Cooks to death but lots of WR's catch that ball and if there is one negative about Cooks game its that when his arm is hit he loses the catch pretty consistently.

I think Woods Cooks and Reynolds are redundant. They all run great routes and are excellent WR's but they tend to drop passes when their arms are contacted. Love them all but Kupp and another possession WR would have helped in this game. Also, none of them can work the underneath which is what we really needed in this game.

McVay did very little in his play calling to help Jared. It's easy to forget he's as young as he is and the earliest in their careers a #1 pick started a Super Bowl. If the play calling is better in the 1st quarter this might be a different game. But the offensive game plan IMO was arrogant and didn't do the players any justice.

At best you can argue that Kupp gets open like Edlem and and Cooks and Woods are jags.

Despite the loss, I really think that Goff is a great QB. Don't forget the NFC Championship game. Goff played a great game and even the noise didn't bother him. I betcha he comes back stronger next year and McVay will learn from this as well as our Offensive line. If you said to me that the Rams would have even reached the Super Bowl just two years after McVay was hired, I would've have responded by uttering "What have you been smokin'? I'm proud of the team and I still think Goff is one of the three best QBs in the game. Wait till next year and don't get too down, coach.!!

A lot of third down catches and a lot of this intermediate route stuff like we saw with Edleman tonight.
I think that is what people mean. More than he was his go to more that other guys. He filled an important role in the offense.
I like Reynolds a lot but he is a different type of receiver.

Why would I argue that Cooks and Woods are JAGs? They're all great WRs. But Kupp is the guy Goff relies on when he's blitzed and under pressure. Kupp is the guy who specializes in gaining quick separation. He's the guy who specializes in finding the holes in the coverage. He is our Edelman. He is our Wes Welker. He was a massive loss. Kupp reads the field like a QB. Him and Goff see the field the same way. It's such an advantage to have him out there.

And my arguement is we have other talent and we had 8 games to develop it. That is a life time n the NFL.

I agree that Goff made some great passes but throughout the game, he was missing some opens guys on a lot of the plays. It wasn't until the 4th qtr where he seemed to calm down and actually went thru the progressions to find the open guy.
Missing open guys? Please do share. I saw the Pats covering up everything and the WR's dropping a few of the passes they got when they finally got a step open.

And my argument is that Goff was down his two most important blitz/pressure-beaters with Kupp and Gurley's injuries. You can't just scheme that away. We did our best to cover it up, but with the OL struggling, it got exposed tonight. Oh well. Shit happens. You don't win them all.
