No, I am not smart enough to be able to answer your question, thus useless to burn off my one working brain cell.

Your question & statement was just fine :thumbsup1:, it's my old brain :woozy:that is growing mostly useless.
I had a response, but deleted them.It was a nice post with a couple views that I thought were good.
I think it was about Jalen, cam Akers,
Ernest Jones & Kier Thomas. If not & already posted ? I think he is a interesting find.

IMO, they will start with a combination of Hollins & Lewis as they were doing okay for the first several games until the acquisition of Miller. Both were hurt, so if Hollins can stay healthy I believe he can play most of the downs with Lewis coming in on the obvious passing downs.

The wildcard is Chris Garrett as if Lewis again struggles with health, Garrett will be called upon to rise to the occasion and I believe he has the goods. Also as @BonifayRam so eloquently communicates the defensive end position could evolve with the likes of Jonah Williams & Ernest Brown do they get more involved? Obviously if the front office believes there is a need, they will make a move, that has been established.

We also have to factor in a different position coach for the outside linebackers. Thad Bogardus has never coached a position in title, he's been with the Rams since McVay's Inaugural staff back in 2017 and has held the title of "Defensive Assistant & Defensive quality control coach before being Assistant Linebacker Coach last year." Now he teams with new Inside Linebacker Coach Chris Beake which does concern me a bit as Bogardus has never played including in college, he's obviously very smart and respected, but this was on move on the coaching staff that had my eyebrows raised a bit.
I will certainly be looking forward to see what both Browns bring to the DL rotation.
Williams was getting a fair amount of snaps before he was injured.
The guy I favored as a wildcard before the season, Copeland, ended up getting snaps because of injury and was ok, but, it would appear he could easily be the odd man out this year.

Oh, I think Copeland's second half of the season locked him onto this roster if he plays the same way. He blew past Hoecht and Williams and had significantly more snaps than Bobby Brown. I feel like he's a legitimate NFL Dlineman.. and may allow the Rams to drop Donald back to 800 or so snaps this year. I feel like the 1000+ last year was too much.

I don’t believe that will happen.I’m a Fan of J.Williams & like how hard he works. IMO it pays off, plus Hoecht does the same.Hoecht is a excellent special teams players.
I like Copeland, but don’t think he gets that much more snaps than those guys & Bobby Brown.
I do think your right about AD99 taking less snaps though.I remember 2019 when Gaines & Smart got playing time in the last game against the 9ers.IMO it cost them the game.

Copeland got the snaps in the second half of the season and had more than Williams.
He's got that three-tech build and has been developing. Williams and Hoecht are interesting athletes, but Copeland showed more as a player. He's also younger than Williams by two years.. Hoecht is basically the same age as Copeland and I think he's got room to grow.

The thing with Williams and Copeland is... Copeland is very much a prototype 3-tech guy. Williams, you could argue, is more of a 4-3 base front DE.

Yes, DL coach Henderson will need to get both of them ready ASAP to replace the departing UFA's Robinson & Gaines.

Both DL'ers Ernest & Bobby Brown will have very big shoes to fill in 2023 & I am of the opinion it's likely that Henderson's mission will fall short.

I’m all for bringing in a veteran pass rusher to bolster the rotation, but I’m not overly worried about it.

I think that, though in different ways, Bobby Wagner will have as much, if not more, of a positive impact on our defense than Von Miller did.

With Snead letting Hollins walk that tells me my hunch was correct and they are potentially making room for cap space.

Im thinking a highly talented guy like Clelin Farrell DE or a player similar to him is more than likely a target for us.

He’s had some injury issues. ( played all 2021, missed 4 games 2020-2019)

Problem is he’ll take 4.4 mill to bring over and we have 6.7 in cap. I’d foresee something like a 4th-5th rounder for him and maybe half the cap hit with Las Vegas?

Guy reminds me of Floyd before he got here that performed in his early years.

Ps not saying we’d trade for him in particular but I foresee someone very similar that we make a move on to defend that title.

Williams was injured.
Copeland was suiting up before that most weeks.
Copeland was solid, but, as someone who pushed for him for a couple of years, I was little disappointed.
Brown....both Browns.....need to step up this year.
Will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

They certainly have shown much yet.....but, both Joseph-Day and Gaines were largely no shows their first seasons.

True.

Good Point!

EB is far more of a pure 43 DE category in a 34 Defense. EB might be able to provide some relief behind Robinson but he would need to develop some pass-rush skills something that was absent in his rookie season. The reason is if A'Shawn Robinson needs relief Greg Gaines, Bobby Brown & Marquise Copeland will get the nod over EB. DE Jonah Williams appeared to be far ahead of EB last year.

BB might have a little bit more versatility to him but seems to be ideal as an NT IMO. I know they ran BB in AD's post in the 2021 preseason. Just did not look like the 3 tech was fits his skill level.

Yeah Boni I agree EB never had the feet to play OLB for us. So we're left with an undersized rotation type with him. Those types come and go, so it's unlikely he'll ever be a primary option for the defense.

Bobby Brown basically got a redshirt. I don't like that he needed it, just because with the Rams model it works better if draft picks can help quickly. But that whole draft was long on potential so we'll see. Where I think he could really help us is at 5T. We don't win enough at 5T so if he could step in and be a powerhouse for us there even just as an early down run stuffer it would be very helpful.

Robinson is going to be valuable for the playoffs. I'd be very careful with him during the season and hopefully BB helps allow for that.

More like "I'm here to pour more Gatorade on the coach when we go Back to Back!"
