IMO, they will start with a combination of Hollins & Lewis as they were doing okay for the first several games until the acquisition of Miller. Both were hurt, so if Hollins can stay healthy I believe he can play most of the downs with Lewis coming in on the obvious passing downs.
The wildcard is Chris Garrett as if Lewis again struggles with health, Garrett will be called upon to rise to the occasion and I believe he has the goods. Also as
@BonifayRam so eloquently communicates the defensive end position could evolve with the likes of Jonah Williams & Ernest Brown do they get more involved? Obviously if the front office believes there is a need, they will make a move, that has been established.
We also have to factor in a different position coach for the outside linebackers.
Thad Bogardus has never coached a position in title, he's been with the Rams since McVay's Inaugural staff back in 2017 and has held the title of "Defensive Assistant & Defensive quality control coach before being Assistant Linebacker Coach last year." Now he teams with new Inside Linebacker Coach Chris Beake which does concern me a bit as Bogardus has never played including in college, he's obviously very smart and respected, but this was on move on the coaching staff that had my eyebrows raised a bit.
