So no watching any football shows for 2 weeks. Great

Right?

Gotta find something else to focus on because watching the talking heads do their thing will make me harm myself more (worrying legit harms my health)

.

Too much time trading for and signing "superstar" players, too little time trying to be a good football team.

.

Losing Woods on Friday CLEARLY had a much bigger impact than how fast we were able to integrate 2 new players.

The game against Green Bay will show us, where this team is going this season.

This defense is built to play with a lead. It excels in getting after the passer. It can't exchange blows with the more physical fronts. Which is fine. But if the offense struggles it's going to be tough to win.
The problem is that the Titans and the Whiners had us down 14-0.

The 3 man front is no that effective against running teams because you have 5 O linemen against 3 D linemen and some backers.

I think Von Miller will make a difference down the road.

Which is why Stafford has to be disciplined and not waste downs on low percentage plays, especially when you may have to keep up with another high powered offense and needing to keep that offense off the field.

He has to still be more game manager and less gunslinger.

I need to take this BYE week and stay away from footfall period. Why would I watch other teams prosper and possibly knock us out of our chances of being in the race for the SB.? While the team I love is coming up short. Like seriously this shit is tragic. Its almost like this…

By two scores, I should have said two TDs. That is what I meant. I don't consider 10-0 to be an overly big hole. Now, 10-0 is certainly not a tiny deficit. And it's not easy to battle back from. Full marks for coming back from it. I certainly remember that game well. It is probably the Rams game I look back on most fondly, discounting the 1999 Super Bowl win. But the psychological challenge to come back from 14-0 is much larger than 10-0, and is IMO the score point at which things start to "look bleak", hence why I had that in mind as an arbitrary query point.
Point taken. I don't recall any examples outside of the Bills game that the refs screwed us out of last year (where we came back from 28-3).

We traded for an older veteran. It's frustrating watching him make rookie-like decisions.

I think it’s only logical to question McVay after a game like this. My question is this: is McVay a mediocre head coach, a bad play caller or both? Hear me out before you get all up in arms:

His play calling is shit at times. Square peg in a round hole and he just won’t adjust until it’s too late, if at all. You don’t go up against a physical defense like the Titans or today’s Niners the same way you go up against a bottom feeder like Houston. But McVay does, he calls the same game regardless of the opponent. That’s NOT indicative of a good coordinator, it’s arrogant if you ask me. When it works, it works. When it doesn’t, it REALLY doesn’t. Our offensive philosophy seems to be pass like hell, for better or worse. Down by 14 or up by 14, no patience in the run game. It blows my mind how, short of a few splash plays, our run game is so anemic.

For him as a head coach. Do I believe he’s a good leader of men? Yes I do. But some of his decisions as a HEAD COACH are head scratching. Allowing some of his staff go for lateral moves instead of promoting them. Hiring Morris as DC during your Super Bowl window. Continuing to play offensive coordinator while your team needs your attention elsewhere (defense, special teams?). Drafting Tutu Atwell with your only premium pick when there are actual needs elsewhere. All of these are decisions he’s making as a head coach that make me scratch my head.

I don’t think there’s a guy I’d rather have on the open market right now. But I think that McVay needs to do some serious soul searching and figure out what’s important. Whatever he’s been doing has been good, just not good enough to bring us a Lombardi and I think we can all agree is the end goal.

Yeah the first int was ridiculous. One week after admitting he needed to take the shorter passes he bombs away in the first few plays. Not sure if mcvay wanted to make a splash play with obj but should have never been called or thrown.

2nd pick all on higbee.

The biggest fail that stood out for me was play calling by mcvay and Morris. Jimmy g is not the better qb but Kyle put him in better situations and their defense while lacking the rams star power was put in better situations
Yup. On paper coming into this game our O was better than their D and our D was better than their O.

It came down to coaching. We simply got out coached, and in that, out played as well

Stafford should watch how Mahomes played this past week. After some shitty performances he got back to basics, stopped worrying about making splash plays, took what the D gave him and they blew the Raiders out. Hopefully Stafford can make the same adjustments.

I said this after the Cardinal game. He is not used to managing games. He is used to doing it all himself or he is just wired that way and it might be the reason he never elevated the Lions above their talent level.

I also feared his talent level would seduce McVay to get even further away from a balanced offense. Much like Marino did with Shula and countless other big armed star QBs that became one dimensional flying circuses that would crash in big games.

Still don’t have an ILB that can stuff the run , and won’t next year either with no draft picks.
You’d have to be pretty optimistic to think two weeks to prepare for GB will make a difference. Rodgers will shred this defenseless bunch.
Plus McVay knows exactly what the 49ers will do , and had no answers. Stafford is playing like he’s still a Lion and AD has been invisible. There’s no switch that’s going on with this bunch. Probably make a wild card appearance.
Then watch Whitworth , Miller and OBJ move on. Plus watch 31 other teams get better in the draft.
Very concerning to say the least.
Yup, that's what I expect as well....when they went "all in" this season, I suspect most didn't anticipate the "bill" that comes due for these moves beginning next season.

It's not just them, this team just has no quality depth and isn't very good.

Williams/Rochelle/Long have all been shit this year. Williams absolutely horrible and is making $5M.

Fuller is invisible every single game. Looks like a 6th rounder this year.

Rapp is arguably the most inconsistent player on this roster. Great play then gets beat bad. Rinse, repeat.

Reeder is total garbage and gets picked on every game.

We have no Special Teams presence. Kickoff and punt coverage teams have to be the worst in the NFL.
I agree. I didn’t feel like taking the time to call all of them out.
