Someone with a lot more knowledge and expertise on the numbers and impact on the cap is going to come along and explain the full impact of this.

Until then - and hopefully beyond - I'm going to go along, blissfully unaware, with a huge smile on my face pleased both Woods and Kupp have the contracts their play has more than deserved; and in the knowledge that for the next few years we have a core of skills players locked down to enjoy.

It's a bigger contract than I thought it would be but regardless it's good to know Woody will be a Ram for another 4 years. It means that their starting 3 WRs are all under contract for another 4 years. Great news, because by doing it now the Rams were anticipating the market for WRs to explode in the near future (2022) so the signed him now to an affordable contract. What this does if anything seem to signal is that Johnson, Ebukam and Everett are gone next year. That said Ebukam's position seems to have been eliminated in Staley's scheme, and they already have replacements for Johnson and Everett.

It's clear that Snead is locking down his core roster which is a good thing.

Following the Rams the past few weeks has been like riding a REALLY WILD ROLLER COASTER RIDE!!!

Can we assume that things (Contracts) will quiet down a little now with the Rams? NOT that I am complaining! Just the opposite! I am absolutely THRILLED with the way the Rams have worked out the deals with these players!!! A HUGE TO THE RAMS OWNERSHIP & MANAGEMENT (INCLUDING LES SNEAD & SEAN McVAY!!!)!!!

Thrilled. He is the nucleus of our offense. All things run through him it seems.

But how in the absolute shit are we paying for all this? I think we got extra cap for adding a spot for the NFL studios in our stadium build...under the table lol

Well deserved, glad he got his dough

Demoff knows a few accounting techniques to stay within the cap. I'm expecting restructures towards players with established contracts if we'll go over the cap.

Interesting to see the details of the deal. Should have given Kupp the 4 years and Woods the 3.

This has been a fun ride. Truly hoping this works out better than Gurley/Cooks, it'd be great to watch these guys in the hunt for the grand prize for the next few years!

Again, this will open up space for 21'. His base pay was $9M for 21' and its $5M this yr.

They will turn that into prorated bonus and his base will be near the minimum.

Thus they will open up $6-7M for next yr, which is needed.

So it does make sense as long as he stays healthy.

Woods career was not exactly heading up when he hit FA as a Bill. I know he wasnt in the best place to shine, but he owes a lot to McVay for his career blossoming. I guess it comes down to whats most important for him. I think the Rams "owe" him for what turned out to be a bargain contract, but he has a bit of debt to the Rams as well
This pretty much says it all. Since McSnead we have been looking for and finding fits for our system through the draft and FA.

Woods is and has been a great fit for the Rams and vice-versa. This is the reward for his effort and the efforts of the FO.
