Should be signed soon and will also put to rest some of those premature who's replacing whom declarations.

Sure Woods will one day eventually be replaced by someone when his skills have declined...

Philly you and I go back years, please we don't know who will be signed or let go.

I know we have talents at the Safety position, but rumor has it JJ3 is on the list And there could be others.

We have Players with some very big numbers and I know Cap. It can be pushed back years,

I sure KD can get whomever signed
Sure, I realize they can save cap room by extending Woods and could restructure Goff/ Donald.

If they both have big yrs/ no injuries, that can make them feel better about doing that.

I could see them franchising JJ for a yr to wait and see how the young kids develop.

It's just in this cap era, it's tough to commit to a vet when you have young talent behind him. You could invest that $$ in another position of real need like C, ILB, or CB (Hill) etc..

Woods career was not exactly heading up when he hit FA as a Bill. I know he wasnt in the best place to shine, but he owes a lot to McVay for his career blossoming. I guess it comes down to whats most important for him. I think the Rams "owe" him for what turned out to be a bargain contract, but he has a bit of debt to the Rams as well

Woods has sure has Hell out played his contract.

Did McVay' s schemes help. Sure. But Woods plays hard, gives an effort every down etc etc imho.

Plus he has said over and over I want to stay in LA.

He's a top 15 Wr and yet he's paid around the 38th Wr, Pay the Man.

yes....but i agree with DieterBrock above also....he has played like a top 15 WR because of Mcvay improving his career with his schemes and intelligence....would not have played like a top 15 elsewhere, in all probability.....

With all respect I agree with both you guys but Woods plays Hard on every down.

Does the scheme make him better Sure, but in the end,it's the player skills effort etc etc etc that makes it work.

My Poster Child for that is AD.

See, now I'm done worrying about it.
After Ramsey, many of you said we couldn't sign Kupp. After Kupp, many said we couldn't extend Woods...

The Rams clearly don't feel like the same rules apply to them and until they are proven wrong, I won't question or assume to know what can and can't be done by the team.

I do know that many teams can't do what we do with contracts. Its blamed on the salary cap but really the issue is mostly cheap ownership.

Forget Jalen, let's go back a few more years.

2017 - Johnny Hecker

2018 - Todd Gurley, Brandin Cooks, Aaron Donald

2019 - Jared Goff, Tyler Higbee

2020 - Jalen Ramsey, Cooper Kupp

Throw in the FAs like Robert Woods, Andrew Whitworth, NRC, Leonard Floyd, etc that have come and/or gone. Like, you can't just go to overthecap.com and worry about the cap. Like it's there, but as you see literally has barely any affect (that we can see) on players being signed or extended.

All I care about is keeping the best players.

Good for him. He’s earned it.
It still considers me a bit. we can’t have any more big $$$ guys get hurt. Plus i truly wonder how much is the WR stats due to McVay.
I’d like to see the details - is it a rework or on top of current deal?

So if my math is right Woods gets 16 per year, which is around the same as Kupp’s 16 per year 3 year deal, correct?

YES!!!!

So for the next four seasons, our WR corps is going to include:

- Robert Woods
- Cooper Kupp
- Van Jefferson

We are loaded at that position for the next several seasons, L-O-D-I-D loaded!!!

Throw in Goff, Higbee and Akers and the Rams Offense looks to be in great shape for the next several years!!!

JUST HAVE TO WORK ON THEIR OL A LITTLE BIT!!!

So is this a brand new deal or is the 4 years tacked on the previous deal?

it's up to $17m per year.

not sure how easily he can reach that.
