Before the game I thought that if we lost I would be rooting for the Lions the rest of way, well after how the fans have acted and watching back this hit and the one Stafford I have to say that I won't now. Fuck the Detroit fans and this player in particular, hope their season is over next game

Yall are as salty as the saints fans were after the nfccg. My god.
I'm the opposite of salty but certainly understand and support my fellow fans whose continued enjoyment of this team was interrupted by bad calls. When you get hurt, most people say ouch. No big deal.

If they hold on to it for years, they didn't hurt the Lions, only themselves. It's a life lesson few of us seem to learn. I have, therefore I celebrate.

Higbee is twice his size, looked to me initial contact was on the thigh pads

Maybe one might wanna question the QB who hung him out to dry

I suppose Number 31 could have asked Higgs “would you kindly drop to the turf Sir”
Higs leg looks lit locks b/c of the turf maybe and the hit causes the hyper-extension.

Not cool but maybe not as dirty as it seems at first glance?

Rams get another shot at the Lions next year. Let’s put together some bounty money on Kirby’s knees. I say we take a 2 for 1 trade. 2 Lions ( one of course Kirby) and another for Higbee.

The only hit that I would call "dirty" in the gm is the hit johnson landed on Reynolds. That one was brutal imo.

You seriously trying to say that dbs don't go low on bigger players? You can't be serious. I didn't say he the pass needed to be perfect I said it's fair to criticize the throw.
Players go low in every game Going low can be the thigh. It can be the ankles or the calves. However, helmet or shoulder directly on the knee? I don’t see that very often and it’s for a good reason. He did the same thing to Hockenson a few weeks ago.

What you chose to ignore is that he had other questionable hits in the same game.

Maybe he’s not dirty, if so, then he’s reckless, or careless, which is just as bad. I wonder how he would feel if someone took out his knee. Maybe the Higbee should try that out next fall.

I really don’t get why you care.

I’d agree if I didn’t see his other hits. Maybe it’s too similar to the Niners with Shanahan.

The hit to Higbee’s knee and the uncalled fouls are two different topics. If the Rams had won that game, I’d still be mad about that hit.

Now you're just looney. Even if you watched this game and think the Higbee hit was clean, you can't possibly think what happened to Stafford was OK. You either didn't watch the game or you need to get your eyes checked.

He made a clear choice to go low. You people expecting these defenders to follow unwritten rules in a playoff gm are ridiculous. Do you honestly expect these guys to worry about that shit when the gm is win or go home? Like come on. Yall mad at the wrong person. Get mad at the NFL for making going for the legs the only sure fire way to not draw a flag and catch a fine.
Not saying it was dirty or illegal but like I said:
Ive seen the replay 15 times and it’s clear the defender purposefully went for the knee. I’m sure he wasn’t intending to injure Hig but he made a clear choice to go for the knee.

The hit was legal. I don't think anyone can see inside his mind and know for sure if he intended to injure, so there is no use speculating. Whether or not that kind of hit should be legal is a different story. But this one doesn't bug me much.

Much dirtier hits in the game included (I am sure I am missing some):

  • Puka getting hit in the back of the neck, full blast, when he was already folded in half and the play was over.
  • Kupp being thrown to the ground way after he was out of bounds.
  • Direct helmet-to-helmet headshot to Stafford, which was also a late hit.
  • Clear targeting/headshot to Kyren Williams, which took him out of the game momentarily and into the tent.
  • Stepping on Stafford after he was already on the ground.
None of which were flagged, of course. :eyeroll:

Not to mention the non stop clutching and grabbing and pass interference. But I'd call that illegal as opposed to dirty.

And, to be fair:
  • Josh Reynolds getting absolutely blasted in the head, when he was already wrapped up and going nowhere. I forget which Rams backup committed that foul but he was immediately taken out of the game before he cost us.
I used to like Detroit but did not realize how dirty they are. Easily a top 5 hated team for me now, although I do still like Goff.

For player safety reasons, I'd like to see the NFL get serious about headhunting the same way college does - immediate ejection if it is deemed a player intentionally targeted one's head. There should have been at least 2 ejections that games (1 of which would have been the Rams player...). Arguably 3 or 4.

The coach speaks. And it's all bullshit. This fucker did the exact opposite of how the coach says they play. In other words, he's dirty as fuck.

“That’s how we play football here. Just keep your head up, see what you hit. That will always be what I tell Kerby. Just keep your eyes up so you don't hit on the crown of your helmet. You hit a spine, mess yourself up there. Just see what you hit.
He’s going for the thigh board and staying away from the head. That’s how we play defense here. We're not dirty. We hit."

So let it happen one more time and you will see an out roar from multiple NFL players from multiple NFL teams. Kirby is officially in the spot light. Also - real dogs don’t bite kneecaps they go for the jugular.

Piss on the Lions and that whole organization.. Campbells comments have poured more gas on the fire of hatred that i now have for that bush league bullshit. No way in Hell will i ever root for the bastards to win anything! I hope that loss lights a fire under McVay and the Rams to come back with a vengeance next season. Karma is a MFER! I hope i have a birdseye view when it comes crashing down on those lowlife bastards. Losing is one thing.. deliberately injuring players is not physical its a fucking crime. I cant wait to see them pay. Asshole jerkoffs.. piss on them.
