To protect the Brand.

Btw remember to deal with the content of the post not the character of the one who made it. Because otherwise it makes your post inappropriate.
Huh? Do you think I made a comment about someone's character on here? I never do that!

Time will tell but it sounds like KC is trying to make up for the fact they knew about the incident (even if they didn't see the video) and did literally nothing about it. One step ahead of the backlash that has yet to crest and could become a huge distraction for this playoff bound team.

And sorry but as the father of a 16 year old girl (who at times is disrespectful) - based on the video that I saw - I have a serious problem with what a saw in Hunt (a 23 year old NFL player).

Maybe everyone can stop raggin on the NFL now.

Probably not gonna happen. Also, I find it unsettling that the authorities didn't give the video to the NFL, but somehow TMZ was able to obtain AND release it.

Perhaps one organization wanted the video a bit more than the other.

Times have changed everyone is ultra sensitive...Its a business and you have a point to a certain degree, but is it “really” worth the risk. Think image.

Yep, it's worth the risk imo.

Curious why you say that? NFL can’t serve warrants or issue subpoenas to other companies or individuals.

Neither can TMZ.

He was cut for lying......had he told the truth from the beginning, he would have been suspended for a couple of games..and moved on.

unfortunate situation.

don't see a crime being committed on the video there so, I doubt this is a career ender for him....

definitely a season ender.

That's certainly the story.

But can the NFL risk being seen as paying out money in likely shady dealings to get the dirt on players?

Yeah, that's not going to be a PR debacle. The NFL and the teams have access to tons of investigators and resources. They investigate the hell out of the players they consider drafting. If the NFL wanted those tapes, they could have gotten them. It was all about plausible deniability.

The issue isn't if he injured her or not. It's his intent to IMO.

And her calling him the N word is no big deal if the fight was about her choosing not to have sex with his friend. Once she says no, move on. Hunt was like a mad pimp. He showed no respect for a woman, and tried to hurt her. All of this because she didn't want to put out, or because she called him a name?

I saw how hard he runs. He is very strong. If he wasn't interfered with he could have done much worse.

Screw him. He deserves to be cut. The Chiefs look better for doing it.

I don't know. I think you are overlooking how unethical TMZ is.

Unethical or not, do you think it's worse PR for the NFL to be doing shady things to investigate one of their players potentially assaulting a woman or for the NFL choose not to pursue the lead and have the video come out?

Smh

Might as well..

For those saying it may have been self defense. There has to be a threat to your well being in order for you to defend yourself. I find it hard to believe a 19 yr old girl could pose any threat to any grown man, especially a player in the NFL.

Nobody respects women more then me.

I have no respect for loud mouthed bitches.

.

I have even less respect for men that think they have the right to hit a woman under any circumstances. Just makes Hunt a punk ass bitch.

Why do teams release the player instead of waiting for the punishment to be served. I don't get it. They just end up playing on someone else's team down the road instead of theirs.

Some franchises have morals and care about doing the right thing, not all, but some. The video shows all I need to see to know Hunt is nothing but a punk ass bitch, and very stupid as well. Dude was set for life, thanx to his God given talent and he throws it away because some girl said something that hurt his feelings.

He's certainly earned being called Kareem baby door after that incident

While I hate what he did, this was far from an extreme, career ending situation - even if only because he had the good sense or good luck to have entourage members who actually tried to restrain him.

I would think any team would send him to anger counseling, and require that to be complete before he went back on the field - and warn him that there would be zero tolerance for any incidents.

He deserves punishment, but ending his career for this seems severe - destroying a guy in his early 20s for getting angry at a drunken party. An incident where if there were any injuries, they were minor; and where the victim supposedly has refused to speak with the NFL about it.

There are and should be gradations of punishment - not "you freaked up in a way that the cops weren't concerned, but your career is now over." as the sole punishment.

His career may not be over, but I agree with the way the chiefs handled the situation. If I were to lie to my employer about something I did, telling them I didnt do it. Then video came out proving I lied, I'm certain I would be fired, and I would deserve it.

Should one stupid non harmful action really ruin a young mans life?

What he did was despicable no doubt, but life destroying...at age 23?

Some of you virtue signallers musta had a pretty boring “yoot”

At some point the NFL needs to step up and stop making role models out of these punk ass bitches that think they can get away with anything because they have a rare talent. Not all teams care about PR or character, the league should care if they want to grow their viewing audience.
