Not sure why everyone sounds like McVay is on Stafford's ears while the play is developing and is directing him on where to throw it?

Maybe he's not as open as the rest? I'm sure teams are looking for the the deep routes when D Jackson is on the field.
Story just came out that defenses are putting 2 safeties deep vs Rams to prevent being bombed out of the stadium.

Read an article talking about Indy...so real simple, Djax for Marlon Mack. Beef of the RB room, and still go pick up a vet CB as well.

Do both of those things and were good.

Most players have egos, I think most players would rather play 60% of snaps on a mediocre team than wait behind 3 other guys on a playoff team where you only get targeted every few games.

desean is 34 years old and he wont stay fast forever... i cant blame him for wanting to get in the games and play.

You guys are making me laugh.. he isnt a life long rams fan like us... he wants to play football.

I cant blame him - but id rather we had him just for the threat he brings.

ya as an athlete who has played many sports - id rather play.. yeah everyone wants to win - but if they arent even a factor in the winning its not like its that rewarding.

I can sit at home and cheer for my favorite team if i want to watch.

People tend to forget that there are two good WRs on the PS right now who looked very good in TC and pre-season. JJ Koski and Landen Akers are both 6' tall and run 4.5. What people tend to overlook is that their 40 times are similar to Robert Woods time as a rookie where he ran a 4.5 as well. As we have seen it's not how fast but how you run those routes. Kupp was timed at 4.62 but has a doctorate in route running technique. So having them watching and learning from two of the best could produce two more route technicians.

If no one wants to trade for DeSean they can release him or keep him but not play him. I'd say release him as you don't want an unhappy player in the locker room. They can promote one of their PS WRs or wait until there is a need. Regardless I don't see it as this big deal that the no-nothing media make of it. Also as I've also posted, Harris is more than capable of playing either at Z or Y positions. I think that probability is bigger than most think as I think he's more ready than Tutu. Harris could move to Z and Kupp to his old Y. That would shake up defenses. Have Harris turn on his afterburners and scare the DBs to death trying to cover his 4.3 speed on a post or fly (9) route. Then watch all the 2 deep shells appear when he's on the field.

Nawww no D Jax no worries, the Rams already have that covered. IMO Harris is far more ready than Tutu and stands to have more of an impact.

The Detroit Lions could use a guy like him. Seriously I would not trade him to a contender and definitely not to an NFC contender.
Important point and probably why they want to trade him as opposed to releasing him. Try to control the endpoint.

What are you saying? There is no value in a trade ? We’ll see how this plays out? I have ideas on some of these moves here.I’ll find it interesting.
An important point is The Rams have a couple nice WR’s on the practice squad as well.If you take them from face value? They makes plays and have good hands.I like the added Covid roster very much.

No problem with getting rid of an anti semite we don't use. Was hoping for the best but he just didn't work out in McVays plans enough, best of luck to him.

Since I can't know what is going on in the heads of McVay or Desean I'll just wait and see what happens.

Hoping we get defensive help in a S, CB or possibly a LB......or maybe a TE.

Well I was really hoping he would put us over the edge with some key deep shots in one of the playoff games and maybe some other regular season games.

At this stage though he has some trade value with some of the plays he has made showcasing his speed this year.

Really he's mostly redundant with us having a host of weapons and Jefferson clear emergence as a favorite Stafford target.

We are clearly trying to make a move or two from positions of strength.

CB, Safety or ILB. And that would be a great way to pivot mid season and provide needed reinforcement for the troops.

It's so crazy but the NFC playoff picture is dam near set with the top teams to plan against.

Cowboys, Zona, Packers Bucs. All teams with multiple passing game targets to defend.

If you release him you save no money...we are on the hook for his contract. If you trade him the other team picks up the remaining contract. So they may have to send a pick to another team to to have someone do that. Of course that team could then cut him and he could end up on GB or wherever.

I am still unsure what to make of this.

A 34yr old (soon to be 35) player asking to be traded away from a 6-1 team?

It doesn’t compute.

From the player side, this is usually the career stretch you start focusing on championships and location. As fans… that’s what we thought Jackson wanted, too.

It’s also odd that the snaps haven’t materialized, as we know they discussed his role at time of signing. It just didn’t come together, I guess.

We will learn more in the days ahead. It’s not a great look for the Rams. But, we don’t know everything yet.

Exactly. We can only guess. My guess is that DJax made too many comments about his targets in relation to his money, and McVay had enough. I might be completely wrong, though.

He is under contract with us...I'm making sure I get a position of need in exchange for him, preferably something on the defensive side.
I can't see them getting anybody (other than a low level jag) that would be an impact player at a position of need for him at this point. Only a team desperate for a vertical threat is my guess...

IMO - your absolutely right about playing SOFI,SuperBowl, home town.
DJ1 took a pay cut to play under a HC he totally respected.

DJ1 has always been his own a Dawg. It’s always been about him though. He is in that TO wr Deva type.

I respect the process & how they have gotten here though.

Mcvay knows he didn’t take care of DJ1 & should have shown him more love.He has been so up Matthew Stafford’s but though to see it.Stafford missed 2 easy TD’s to DJ1.
He is a burner, but not the willing guy Wooks.Kupp,Jefferson are.Add size as well blocking & target wise.
Happy endings for both parties is best solutions.
