I just don’t get it. We have arguably the best cover corner in the league and we still run zone. Why when you have a receiver as good as Adams and not much of a threat from the other receivers do we not have Ramsey blanket Adams? It isn’t just this game. It has been happening over and over.

Do they have the horses to play man? Does any team only play man?

Did Morris decide to move on from JJ & Troy Hill?

So… Cobb hasn’t done any damage?
And sometimes teams scheme guys open.. so players have to do their job.
Is Cobb in 2021 a guy you really worry about? Sure, any player in the NFL can make a play at anytime. When you have arguably the best receiver in the NFL and you have arguably the best cover corner in the NFL on your squad, you shadow him!

Would you honestly want Ramsey on Lazard or Cobb versus Adams? You put Ramsey on Adams and take your chances with the others.

The problem seems to be Morris' lack of ability to make gametime adjustments. Green Bay's first drive ended in a punt but 15 plays taking up 9 minutes with their longest gain being 6 yards is exactly how the whiners beat us.

GB's O line is banged up but they countered by throwing short passes. But with a free release, usually, someone will get open in a zone.

Williams/Ramsey's strength is man to man....not zone! "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
And thinking that the problem is gonna be fixed by what you’re saying is just as crazy. They’ll just know they get to throw at Reeder, Rapp, Scott, Jones & DD.

They don’t have good enough players.

The zone is getting beat with short passes and it negates the Rams pass rush. It’s allowing teams to chew clock.

I get not going man only but the team plays better with more man and less zone. Unfortunately they play zone as much as possible.

They don’t have the players.

And, again.. the D ain’t the problem.

It’s a big part of the problem. They can’t get off they field. Giving up too many third downs.

Stafford being injured is another big part of it.
Not buying either.

We’ve seen a few years in a row of McVay’s teams having big issues with turnovers and, now, special teams.

Good HCs don’t have teams that do that consistently.

The Rams D got them the ball back twice in the 4th and the offense wet farted.

not having troy hill and JJ has made the pass defense a lot easier to get for sure.
Rapp should be played closer to the LOS, he is not a good fit to replace JJ. IMO Rochell can replace Hill. The biggest problem on D is the coordinator. Morris needs to play the players to their strengths instead of trying to make them fit what he wants to do. If he insists on playing his style, then he needs to move some players around instead of playing them to their weaknesses.

honestly if you listen to what they have been sayin - our defensive scheme is mostly the same as last year.

We lost some quality players and the replacements have not held up.

They may say its basically the same, but I dont remember giving 8+ yrd cushions on 90+% of plays. Last year the D was aggressive and attacked, this year they are passive and react. We have seen the D play well at times this season, but then Morris reverts to the passive react bullshit and teams march up and down the field. Poor tackling has been an issue at times as well, but it has mostly been just giving to much cushion.
