Acts of Kindness Thread

There was a news story locally last week about a drug bust.
The police, always feeling the need to be self congratulatory, posted a picture of the drugs, scale, baggies, gun and cash seized. Everything matched up, but the cash. The article said $2000 is cash seized. If you count the cash in the picture it was $1290.
So, yeah, checks and cash....makes a difference.
To contribute something small to this actual thread Ive built a couple bird houses and feeders to keep the birds who visit my yard fat and happy.
Awesome. Glad to hear that you're helping the birds (and the squirrels, obviously; I've never seen a squirrel who didn't like the nuts in a bird feeder) be happy.

The 70's Were A Magic Decade

remember when we thought shag carpet in the bathroom was a good idea

We do bath remodels and still run into the carpeted bathrooms. We rip out a lot of it (grant it, not the avocado green or burnt orange much) ( @RamFan503 parent’s carpet was actually not burnt orange but white before the little fella pissed all over it during potty training)

LEGEND Re: Introduce Yourself

Hello fellow Rams fans! I've been lurking on this site for many years and finally decided to register. I've been a Rams fan since the mid-70's (I thought the helmets were cool :laugh1:). I've always loved the vibe here at ROD. So much more laid back and respectful than some of the other sites. Looking forward to contributing from time to time.
Welcome aboard. Feel free to dive right into the discussions.

Cheers and GO Rams!!!

NFL will allow players to wear Guardian Caps during games

The funny thing is that this will actually not stop the brain reverberating inside their head. Padding will only help to stop cuts to the head.

.
Nah. It absorbs some of the impact energy. Like a crumbling car chasis does. A hard helmet hitting the ground or another hard helmet, the brain absorbs the hit. The soft exterior of this cap collapses and removes some of that energy.

Watches

I got this TAG a few years ago. It's my daily wearer. Funny thing is though that unless I am wearing a pair of readers, I can't read the time in low light so I just pull out my phone. I always wore watches growing up - generally cheap Casios - but did have a nice Seiko that I left at an airport when I went through security in a hurry to catch a plane. It wasn't extravagant or anything - maybe a couple hundred bucks several years back. But it was my first nice watch. I love this TAG though. It's more jewelry than function but it just feels right to have a nice watch on my wrist.

Anybody have a Salt Water Fish Tank?

I miss mine A LOT!

Have wanted to do it again but prior to retirement, would spend 8 months in PA and 4 months in SW FLA. Now that I'm here practically year round, I may do it again. But the issue is getting someone to feed them when I take trips.

Yes, the affects of the therapy are wonderful.

Funny, I started with fresh water and had a room full of tanks. I would go in there and sit on the couch and just RELAX.

LOLOLOLOL

Both of my twins have multiple tanks. One only has 4, and they are all freshwater. Each tank holds fish from specific geographic locations. All of his tanks are planted with live plants and some of them grow out of the tank and hang down under the tank or grow up straight and tall above the tank. The other twin has 5 total tanks... one of his is saltwater and he keeps both live corals and fish together in it. All of his are in his bedroom and his lights are timed so he falls asleep before the lights turn off.

One of the very best fish stores in the country for saltwater is here in the Orlando area. People in South Florida drive up here to buy all of their live creatures... Top Shelf Aquatics. You'll want drive up and get your fish there once you have been there.

Get yourself a great tank service guy. Most of those guys will handle your feeding too.
