When you make comparisons, it does seem like these two teams are evenly matched. I like our defense to be better than theirs. I don't think either team has the edge at running back. I haven't seen their receivers but I gotta think they have the edge there. Aside from Austin ours ain't too good. I gotta think they have the edge at quarterback too for the same reason.

I think it will come down to mistakes. Who turns it over more and who gets penalized more. Our defense can make things pretty tough for Bridgewater. Especially if they play well against the run.

My biggest concern is the inconsistency of this team. If they play like they should, I think they win. Even if the vikes play well. But they haven't been able to string together three good games in the past. And they won the last two. You would think they're due for a bad game. History says they are. But at some point you would think a team with this much talent is going to break that trend. Tomorrow is a good time for that.

You can look at Tavon's stats all day, and they won't impress you. The greatness of Tavon is keeping defenses honest so they can't key in on Gurley. As soon as they try to key on Gurley, Tavon will bust one.
So the obvious thing, to tell the Vikings to do, is "Pick-Your -Poison!!":D

What I am trying to figure out is this. If Tavon Austin is so good, why does he only average 40 yards a game? Anyone?

You would be surprised how many times he's used in shorter yardage situations. That 3 yard TD run last week showcased his quick speed. The 49ers defended it well. Had guys in position and he just exploded to the pylon with that zero to sixty speed not many can match. So plays like that aren't going to net many yards. He's used in a variety of ways.

Let's not get too cocky. Bridgewater has more ability than his stats show and the Vikings are a better team than some of y'all are giving them credit for being. We all got cocky about beating the Redskins and then when we lost, this place had a huge meltdown. I'd rather that not happen if we lose tomorrow.

I think we've seen what this offense looks like before and after Gurley. It pretty much looked the same as it did against SF once Gurley was pulled, barring Tavon's long TD.

(Only being cocky for the Viking fellas here. Gotta make their experience memorable, you know lol.)

We've played some really good QB's through our first seven games. Big Ben, Rogers, Palmer, and Wilson. Even McCown and Cousins are solid. I think we're ready for Bridgewater. Mobile QB's don't scare us.

So, the Ram defense is better than the Broncos?

Nobody said they were better, they are more physical though. I understand the vikings can only play the teams on their schedule so it is not a knock on them that they have only played 1 good team in the first 7 games of this season. It amazes me that vikings fans think the vikings will be able to score more points against the Rams than any team has so far even knowing that the vikings have not outscored a team that plays D yet this season. The Rams D is top 10 in every category, and has been getting better every week since the washington debacle, which would be our game like the vikings loss to the whiners.

These are 2 very similar teams so its really hard to pick. I’d give the edge to the Rams on defense (that D line vs our OLine..yeesh) On offense I’d give the Vikes the edge in passing ..and rushing(but its really a push)

They may be similar at the moment but once minn starts playing some teams with winning records they will not be so similar. The Rams have gotten where they are by beating good and bad teams, the vikings have only played 1 good team, and lets face it even the browns played denver well with denver needing a FG in OT to beat the browns.

This will be a good game

i am going to assume that Austin does not line up in the same spot based on the "touches" they manufacture for him. So it would depend on where he lines up as to who will stop him

Youre right he does line up in different positions, sometimes hes on the right, sometimes the left and sometimes the backfield.

I really think some people (including Rams fans) underestimate just how dangerous Austin is. I can freaking guarantee you that the Vikes DC is not one of those people. He is an absolute nightmare because of all the ways he can be used. Without TA, this team looks a lot different IMO, and a lot MORE one dimensional than they already are....

If only he wasn't a frail lilly, Rams would give him touches. But, you know, he's not a little badass or anything. Better to lose than use him.

Touches.

And, no, he doesn't average 40 yards a game. Did you really think he was a WR? Come on man, know something about a player before you dis him and he haunts you.

I agree jrry...When a Rams fan belittles Bridgewater (or any Vikings player) it makes them sound just like the Vikings fans they are complaining about. IMO...

I can't wait to get this game started. I love what the Vikings are doing, both teams are headed in the right direction. It's going to be a great game tomorrow. I just can't wait to see the Todd Gurley show!

Anyone doubting Austin. Educate yourself, and believe that he is miles the player he was then. It's our fault for not getting him the ball. Please read this, and know that nobody, nobody punts the ball to him, at all. It's almost comical to watch when teams punt against him. Head coaches get called out after the game, and they lie about it...like the punter had a bad day.

Let me say, Austin shows great football sense. He knows what is going on. He plays every play to his best ability and that wins.

You know what? I wish we wore our throwbacks against the Vikes. That would take me back to two NFC power houses.

Ok..... Viking fans are complaining about Wallace's lack of production so far this year. I see he is right there with Austins numbers. Here I am thinking Austin is one of the top 25 WR's in the NFL the way Rams fans are talking and in production he's down at 80. Maybe he needs a nickname. "Decoy"

Don't worry, I am sure I just guaranteed him having a 120 yards game tomorrow. :)
Mike Wallace has 7 touchdowns in seven games like Tavon does? That's news to me!!!!!:rolllaugh:

And Stefon Diggs is on pace for 1274 yards from scrimmage. And he missed the first three games. That's why Viking fans think he's good. Wait, he's going to be shut down by the Rams. Never mind. ;)
What Rams fan here has blasted Diggs? You are the one who keeps playing down Tavon Austin and when your ass is called on it you flip it as if we started it.
