Yeah, just heard a local radio segment with Karlos Dansby. I guess it's going to be the new thing to devalue what Goff and the Rams have accomplished offensively by joining in at taking shots at this whole McVay-in-Goff's-headset rhetoric. Then, when asked if the DC had the same audio ear to ear setup with himself, the MLB or whomever he didn't answer the question. Uhhh....

Excuses for getting whipped on Sundays have reached a new level i suppose. I hope Dansby gets a nice whiff of Goff's passes zinging by his head all day.

Last I looked, McVay wasn't on the field taking snaps. Diminish Goff all you want. Any way you look at it, it's Goff who's beating your azz with his play. McVay never touches the ball. Dansby and the rest can dis Goff all they want, Goff and the Rams are good and getting better, and they all know it.

Cardinals vs. Rams prediction, scouting report: Can the Cardinals pull off the upset?
Kent Somers, azcentral sports

Cardinals insider Kent Somers previews Sunday's Cardinals-Rams game and breaks down who has the edge. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:25 p.m. at University of Phoenix Stadium.

Cardinals on offense
To have a chance, the Cardinals must avoid negative plays on first and second downs. Failures on those downs were a big reason the Cardinals lost to the Rams, 33-0, in London in late October. The Cardinals converted just 3 of 12 third-down opportunities in that game. (The Rams were 13 of 19). On nine of those 12 opportunities, the Cardinals needed nine yards or more for a first down. That’s a recipe for disaster against any defense, but especially one as good as the Rams’.

A poor run game was only one problem that day. Adrian Peterson rushed 11 times for 21 yards. Three times the Cardinals offense was penalized on first down, leading to impossible situations. Toss in two interceptions and it’s little wonder the Cardinals lost by 33 points.

The Cardinals have lost two offensive starters since that game, quarterback Carson Palmer and left tackle D.J. Humphries – and a backup, quarterback Drew Stanton. Blaine Gabbert is now starting at quarterback, and he played well last week against the Jaguars.

Gabbert ran for two first downs on a key touchdown drive last week. Rams tackle Aaron Donald might be the best defensive player in the NFL and had two tackles for loss and two quarterback hits in the first game against the Cardinals.

Edge: Rams

Cardinals on defense
The big story with the Rams this week was the revelation that coach Sean McVay communicates with quarterback Jared Goff via radio right up he's cut off at the 15-second mark of the play clock. That has given Goff the ability to use a lot of check-with-me calls at the line of scrimmage. It can complicate things for a defense because it has to determine if it can disguise its intent long enough to fool the Rams.

The Rams often snap the ball quickly, which doesn’t give a defense time to adjustment. The Cardinals did a good job limiting the Jaguars’ run game last week, but the Rams are far more diverse offensively. Running back Todd Gurley rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown in London and is also a receiving threat. The Cardinals sacked Goff only once on 38 pass plays in the first meeting.

The Rams likely will be without Robert Woods, their leader in receptions and receiving yardage. They have plenty of other firepower. They are second in the NFL in scoring. According to profootballreference.com, the Rams have scored on 48.4 percent of their possessions, second only to New England. Last year, the Rams were the worst in the NFL in that category, scoring on 28.1 percent of their possessions.

Edge: Rams

Special teams
Rams punter Johnny Hekker is the best in the NFL, and kicker Greg Zuerlein has missed just two field goals in 34 attempts. Cardinals opponents have yet to miss a field goal this season. The Cardinals punt team has improved dramatically in the past month, but the kickoff coverage needs improvement. The Rams' Pharoh Cooper leads the NFL in kickoff return average (29.7) and returned one 103 yards for a touchdown against Jacksonville.

Edge: Rams

Bottom line
The Rams have their health and an 8-3 record. The Cardinals have six starters on injured reserve and are 5-6. They have yet to win consecutive games this season and will try Sunday for the sixth time this season. The Rams, however, are better in every area.

Prediction: Rams 27, Cardinals 17

Huge stat! Too bad Goff doesn't get more recognition for this.

Good to have Watkins occupy Peterson. After watching and reading I expect the Cardinals to be fired up. Goff and Co have to put on the pedal and not stop.

With Peterson on Watkins, I think Coop has another 100+ yard game.

“Don’t bury us yet.”

Oh the RAMS are coming to your house, be sure of that and this is what's going to go down...

honestly, the Cardinals are playing better of late but this is a game the RAMS must win in order to continue being thought of as a contender.

Common sense and a modicum of NFL knowledge would tell me that the Rams-Cards is the best late game...WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG...If you live in So. Oregon, the best late game will be the clash of the Titans...Correct, I'll be stuck with the POS Giants @ POS Faders...Oh, geez, give me a freaking break...I can only hope the local Fox heirarchy changes their mind...Of course the chance of that is about the same as me winning the lottery that I didn't enter...

Well, I hit the lotto that I didn't enter...Rams are on here instead of the Faders...That's an epic upset, trust me..I only get to see the first half and maybe a very few mins of the 3rd due to my important family Sunday stuff, but better than watching a stream on my computer...

Arizona Cardinals vs Los Angeles Rams: 5 Q's and 5 A's with Turf Show Times
The Arizona Cardinals take on the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, we talked with Turf Show Times to preview the game

The Arizona Cardinals take on the Los Angeles Rams... The first place in the NFC West Los Angeles Rams.

They blew the Cardinals out last meeting in London, now the Cardinals are at home and looking for revenge.

I talked to Joe McAtee of Turf Show Times about the game and what is going on with the Rams to get you ready.

1. The last two weeks showed the low and the high of the Rams... Which game was the bigger statement in your mind?

Damn, that's a really, really good question. I thought we were supposed to start with softballs? Something about how Sean McVay is our savior or to rag on Jeff Fisher or to wonder if ketchup has any redeeming qualities whatsoever (it doesn't).

It's really hard to pick between the two. While the Rams lost a playoff-caliber game to the Minnesota Vikings, it was a close game that was tied after three quarters that they played on the road. The silver linings in that one were really, really lustrous. The win over the New Orleans Saints, though, cemented the reality of the Rams' 2017 turnaround.

I guess I'll take the Saints game since winning tends to be better than losing, but I really think it's just the nature of some really good teams matched up against one another.

2. Offensively the Rams seem to be finding a nice rhythm, but how much will not having Robert Woods hurt them this week?

I honestly don't think it will too much.

The Rams' offensive system is varied and malleable and has been since Week 1. As good as Woods has been statistically this year, there have been performances where the Rams didn't lean into him too much schematically like the Week 4 win over the Dallas Cowboys in which he had just two receptions for 17 yards in which the Rams had nine scoring drives.

There's just too much diversity in the attack to worry about one player. WR Sammy Watkins remains the most important factor while RB Todd Gurley's impact on the passing attack can't be understated this year. And in Woods' absence last week, rookie WR Josh Reynolds got in the mix with four receptions including one for a touchdown.

The real strength of the Rams' passing attack this year has been its whack-a-mole variety. So losing one mole (and limiting it to just one) shouldn't be all that detrimental.

3. The Rams did a fantastic job on everyone not named Alvin Kamara last week, how much of what the defense has become is Wade?

A lot.

The personnel are very good up front and in the secondary with concerns across the linebackers, but the defense was just never this good in the Jeff Fisher era. And the main reason is that they're isolating big plays.

Kamara had a spectacular 74-yard TD run that has much of the NFL taking note. His other four rushes went for 13 yards. RB Mark Ingram added just 31 yards on 11 rushes. With the Rams up 26-13 with less than 2:30 remaining, Saints QB Drew Brees was 16/25 for 161 yards without a score.

Brees would carve up the Rams' prevent defense for a quick 6-play drive that ended in a touchdown, but the subsequent onsides kick fail ended things. Overall, the Rams faced one of the highest-scoring offenses and limited them to a single touchdown on one major play and a field goal through nearly 58 minutes of football.

As good and as shocking as the offensive turnaround has been, the defensive improvement has been just as important.

4. Is there a worry that the Rams may be looking to the Eagles instead of focusing on the Cardinals this week?

Yes, but that's always the test for teams in this kind of position. Back in 2015, you guys were 5-2 with just one game before the bye with a huge division game against the Seattle Seahawks looming. The trap game risk is always real. But you guys handled business against Cleveland. And against Seattle. And a lot more teams thereafter.

It's just the kind of test that good teams have to face. Coming out of the bye, the Rams dealt with the New York Giants and Deshaun Watson-less Houston Texans. You guys topped the Jaguars last week.

This is why they play the games.

5. Score and game prediction?

I honestly think the Rams are in a good place for this one. They haven't really succumbed to the trap game mentality (though Week 3 in San Fran sure was too damn close). And the way they talked about the loss in Minnesota, I really think they understand the situation they're in both procedurally and historically. So I'll go with another big win 30-10, but I think it hinges on the Rams' early offense. If we can get going, I could see 40+ coming.

Not sure if anyone remembers this but in 1999, the Rams smoked the Atlanta falcons 35-7. Before the rematch, there were some sound bites from falcons defensive players: (not verbatim) "How embarrassed were you last time? We're going to humble the Ram's ass today".

And then the Rams smoked them again 41-13.

If the FO views this Rams team as one that can content for titles QB depth should be improved in my opinion.
Seems to me that Mannion may be one of the best back up QBs in the league. Is there a team you feel has better depth at QB?

Vikings definitely do. Bengals probably do. The Colts might. The Dolphins probably do. The Chiefs might. Truth is that none of us know how good Mannion is. I hope we don't find out until he moves onto his next team.

How would we know?
He hasn't played.
If the team is serious about loading up to compete for a title backup QB should be considered.
If the starter goes down for an extended time most teams will have a hard time winning. Having a backup with experience that won't be overwhelmed starting for several games should be an upgrade in FA.
If that means spending a little money for a Fitzpatrick or McCown (that kind of guy) then so be it. It is a key thing for a contending team.
If not change is made they either believe in Mannion based on practice or they aren't that serious about contending.

Now Jrry, I noticed Grayson wasn’t on that list :sneaky:

What the?

You are right tho about one thing, until
He actually plays in a meaningful environment, we really can’t be too sure one way or the other on Mannion

I’ll go on record as “liking” him
