Without seeing it from a Rams source I’m not buying it as it was written. I could see if there were talks about some other high profile QB coming back in trade otherwise talk os cheap and someone is looking for clicks.

No we didn't.

It appears as if Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is staying put after all.

Despite rumors to the contrary, general manager Les Snead shot down rumors of that they were 'making calls' in regards to a trade of Stafford, calling their Super Bowl-winning quarterback one of the franchise's key pillars for the future.

“We’re going to definitely rely on Matthew," Snead said on Thursday. "He’s definitely one of our pillars. He’s definitely someone we’re going to rely on as we remodel this.”

Snead would go on to describe Stafford, alongside Cooper Kupp and Aaron Donald, as one of the franchise's 'weight-bearing walls'.

These comments from snead come in the midst of a report from NFL insider Michael Lombardi, who claimed the Rams were actively shopping Stafford in an effort to get out from under his massive contract.

Hm, so Les Snead debunked those rumours the same day that Lombardi reported them? Yet Lombardi is still repeating them four months later? Why, because he's on the Pat McAfee show trying to argue the Rams would dump Aaron Donald at the first opportunity.

Would the rest of the media investigate Lombardi's claims, or would they just copy and paste for their own stories. He reported this in March after all, yet the rest of these rags are all acting like he's saying something new.

The tanking narrative is really hot around the Rams right now.

Yeah - calll BS as well. Maybe they took calls or asks around at some point.

The Rams were all in for sure once they decided to trade Jalen Ramsey.Don’t know the time frame.

—Just knowing how The Rams have structured 2023 season shows they are all in with Stafford which should get ALL RAM FANS excited.

Lombardi the only guy saying this.

He said it on March 9, "Rams desperate to trade Stafford, any team can have him."

Then he repeats his claim July 7th, somehow making it a "story."

If a bunch of others back up this claim, maybe there's something there. But as of now, sure sounds like exaggerated hot-air BS from Lombardi.

Lombardi lover!

Prior to the 2017 Season, Mike Lombardi stated the following:
"Doug Pederson might be less qualified to coach a team than anyone I’ve ever seen in my 30-plus years in the NFL.”

Pederson's Eagles went on to win the 2017 Super Bowl.

Mike Lombardi was on the Rich Eisen Show after the 2016 Season. Goff's rookie year.

Lombardi said Jared Goff had 'no feel for the game'.
Eisen asked ... 'You can tell that after only 7 games?'
Lombardi replied ... 'I could tell that after 7 passes'

Over the next two seasons, Goff went 24-7, with 60 TDs and 19 interceptions.

It will not happen anytime soon but I’d love to see NFL “analysts” be accountable for their takes. And when they state their opinions or fantasies as if they are truths simply to get clicks, it should result in a tangible loss of their credibility. I’m ok with someone hypothesizing on a subject as long as they clearly state that is what they are doing. I am NOT ok with someone tossing out unsubstantiated conspiracy theories.

Stirring up drama for hits and clicks. These kind of "journalists" need to get dragged hard for these kinds of cheap antics.

It probably only made sense for Rams during a short widow before a guaranteed payment was due.

Some other GM comes sniffing around (Jets) and Les says you better act fast because we aren't trading him *and* eating more cap. By the time it gets to Lombardi, it turns into a fish tale.
