Yes we all hate him. I call him worse things than schmuck, personally.

He is without a doubt a shit-stirrer when it comes to the Rams. But it is possible the Rams are lying. Not that I care, really, because they tend to flip over every rock annually in considering options and as an organization they have huge cajones when it comes to admitting their mistakes by virtue of shitcanning players who aren't good enough or who they paid too well.
It is always possible than any spokesperson is lying.

That possibly doesn’t warrant giving credence to the unsupported theories of known liars and fabricators such as Florio and Lombardi.

I suspect Lombardi caught wind that his big daddy Belicheat had conversations with the Rams about Stafford. Was probably the Pats calling the Rams. But I doubt he outright made it up. Lombardi is a dumbfuck but it wouldn't be smart for a guy like him who is seeking validation as an NFL expert to be known as a liar.

Foolio just hates the Rams and doesn't know the game as well as he knows the lawyerly side of things.

Either way truth isn't always black and white. Rams may have explored the possibility but again if they did I don't blame them. And I don't blame them for lying if that is what happened. Some lies are for the best.

Florio is what my people call a schmuck.

Basically his position is that NFL teams, and the Rams in particular, lie., so…therefore nothing they say should be trusted and all unsourced rumors must be considered.

If you want a summary of his “analysis” here it is:

What I notice about liars, is they are the first to accuse other people of doing what they do all the time to deflect the fact that they are lying.

The rams already said they had people inquire about Stafford and other people because it is obvious they were unloading good people and their contracts and it is their job to listen to every call. That isn't the same thing as what is reported and there has been NO other reporter validating/verifing this bullshit. Only people referencing Lombardi. The truth never has one source when it comes to reporting and in this environment the standard media can't wait to jump on the bandwagon. Notice who regurgitates this and you should have no doubts this is nothing but a huge exaggeration. A Lie.

It may be irrelevant but does any “sports analyst” have a more punchable face??

I know many don't want to watch this, however here's Colin doubling down.

What I find interesting in his take is this insistence on there being no market for a QB who just won the Super Bowl and yes he was injured and didn't start the season off well but the GMs are well aware of how shit that OL was. Even before the injuries started.

So I think Colin is wrong. And again I think the Patriots at the very least had a conversation with the Rams about him and maybe talked shop about how costly it would be before it was confirmed they couldn't do it. And I am convinced it's the Patriots because dumbfuck Lombardi only has limited friends in the NFL. The guy is an asswipe. He's not popular and I say that not knowing shit about that owner room other than I figure they're all human and well aware of what Lombardi is.

But what do I know. Not like the Rams would ever spill. But here's the vid.

If Matt can physically hold up the Rams are going to ride his arm for 2 more years. With at least one more ring on his finger he can retire a happy rich man after 2024. He can mentor his replacement rookie QB they draft next year for a year.

That said it wouldn't surprise me if the Rams at least made a run at Herbert. IMO Justin plays like Matt v.2.0.

And this is why Demoff should not make comments to the media about players or contracts. I guess everyone wants to feel important.

Hopefully this tweet puts to rest this issue entirely. Training camp is almost here; it's time to move on.

Excuse me for my skepticism, but after watching how the Rams have treated other players given big contracts, I translate all this as follows:

(1) Rams couldn't trade Stafford.

(2) Stafford wouldn't restructure.

(3) Since the Rams then had no realistic choice but to pay Stafford the $59m due, now Stafford has a "vote of confidence" for "at least a year."

Remember when Goff was our QB "for now"?
