Some of your comments make me laugh.
You actually think Hoecht is 300???? Lol
Oh.. Hoecht ran a 4.5.. by your logic that means he should be fine there since you think Hampton can be moved out in space.. where he has no experience.
Lake looks good... in his role. He's not a starting safety.. he's a nice dime-backer.

Oh.. good job on being a bad human.. McVay had a kid this week. My God, we should all be offended by his lack of focus.
I'm kind of surprised his posts get read.

Pretty much what I've been saying. Only difference is I don't think I'd trade up for the LT.. I'd probably trade back. But I wouldn't be stomping my feet if they did what you suggest.

The D model I'd be going after at this point is roughly what the Bengals are doing. Sign multiple very capable players.. don't have to get the super elite edge or corner. .but make sure you have dudes there and at safety.. in the line rotation as well. Hendrickson wasn't a super elite guy.. but could you imagine the Rams D with him across from young? And bring back a guy like Gaines at a bargain. Maybe a Mike Purcell?

The idea is multiple vets who know what the fuck they're doing out there.

The Rams seemed to be doing just that this season. The problem was they just didn’t have enough $$ to get many players. Witherspoon and Dotson have been excellent pickups. I’m not sure what the plan was for JJ3, but shows your plan.

BTW, I’m not stalking you by quoting all of your posts right now—you have just been posting exactly along the lines I’ve been thinking since the steelers loss.

We know who Spoon is. There is enough film on the dude. He dominates guys he is better than, but when he gets mismatched it's fugly and there's a lot of receivers who mismatch him.

Dotson we'll see. Maybe we can turn him into something. But maybe he just wants to get paid so he can put his feet up.

There's a good chance both are stopgaps at best.

Both had a handful or more of truly terrible plays.

I've said countless times last year I didn't like his soft coverages anymore than the rest. But I understood why we ran that. And people took that for being a Morris supporter.
I always got that. Closest I ever came to concluding that was after the Tampa game last year where, I believe it was you and/or Kupped defending the defense on the final possession.

Where previously the constant refrain was that the offense hung the D out to dry because it couldn't score enough points and the one week where the D was handed a lead to protect with <2 mins left they fucking shit the bed in grand fashion.

Again not defending it. But this thought from countless people here that the offenses ineptitude on drives doesn't affect the defense or the game. If I remember right we had no first downs in the 4th quarter. Everybody was blindly running around with pitch forks trying to fire Morris and nobody but a few of us were willing so say the offense was as much if not more to blame than the defense. One single lousy bloody fucking (whatever adjective you want here) first down and the defense doesn't have a chance to blow the lead they'd held for a long time. I'll claim this till my dying day the offense is as much to blame for that loss if not more than the defense. That doesn't make me a Morris simp or a McVay hater, just being objective. We don't lose a game because solely one side of the ball. Unlike the group around here that blames all our woes on Morris.

My point then was the offense was handed the ball.. with a lead.. and couldn't even get a first down. The offense only ran 1:08 off the clock.
Also.. the offense scored 13 points.

The idea that the loss was "on the defense" was beyond ridiculous to me then.. and is now.

And yet the Defense took the field with 1:44 left in the game and promptly shit the bed. Was it Matt Stafford letting the Tampa receivers get open on the sideline? Or maybe it was Kupp, I could be confused.

As I said then and will say again now, despite the Offense's failings that and nearly every Sunday last season, on THAT day in THAT game they handed the ball to the Defense with under 2 mins left and a lead that required Tampa get a TD to win.

And they promptly pissed all over themselves.

If the Defense can't be held accountable for it 's performance in that situation I guess we never can hold that unit accountable for anything it does.

And that’s where we’re different.
Because scoring 13 points is complete failure.

The guys in the booth were talking about how they have never seen Dak change so many plays at the line of scrimmage. Maybe he is legit and can send the 49's home early in the playoffs.
The thing about Dak is he'll have a game like this, then go full-retard the next game, which happens to be Philthy.

Oh and btw if Dak continues to play like that Dallas has a chance to win it all. He balled his ass off today.

My mom is a Cowboys fan, and was kind of down on Dak before the game.

I told her the Rams were going to revitalize Dak’s career, and how the Rams DB’s don’t cover anyone

I just didn’t figure it would be THAT ugly

It’s not a personnel problem it’s a coaching/scheme problem.
Same shit, different year.
Deep drops, long developing routes and QB taking too much time to get rid of the ball. It’s like 2019 all over again.
No TE use or any TE development.
we bitch and moan about teams eating up the Rams with short throws underneath, well fuck me, why don’t we try that
So frustrating.

I like Stafford and greatly appreciate him getting us a Superbowl but I think the time has come next year to get his replacement.

The defense just needs to continue being built. They will be fine with a few more pieces.

I'm not sure what's up with Kupp but he hasn't looked like the same player at all since coming back.
He's 30 and was never fast. If he's lost some quickness then he won't be the same guy going forward. Rams should consider trading him to a playoff team needing a slot guy.

Ofcourse he does every damn time. We make him look like the ONE for Dallas…

Cardinals made him look like a bum.

It's not "far from great", it's incompetent.

Giving up 16 on the road is excellent.

Sucked at the end.

But.. if you're coming to me in the locker room.. and I'm a defensive player.. and you tell me it's my fault we lost the game? It's a fight. Period.

You could very well be correct in your “stopgap” idea; but the Rams HAD to have SOME experienced pros who didn’t need a ton of basic training. There were simply too many of those guys already on the roster. Castoffs and stopgap players, however, aren’t enough to shield these young guys from seeing exactly how far away they really are right now.

Today showed just how fugly things get when a distracted (McVay’s first edition) and inferior roster goes up against a rested and prepared legit contender.
