If CMC has a say, then it seems the Rams will strongly be in consideration.

He’s friends with Stafford and has ties in the LA area. He could totally change the offense if he could stay healthy.

If it happened I’d hold him out until after the 49ers game. I could see those dirty bastards trying to end his season on every tackle.
Need OL help or even Derrick Henry would struggle to gets yards.

McCaffrey ran pretty well behind Carolina’s Oline. They aren’t very good either.

If you watched the game against the Cowboys there were holes for Akers to run through.

There also were holes opened against a very good Carolina DLine. So with the team getting Allen back soon and more use of misdirection, I think CMC would put the offense over the top. He’s a Gurley level weapon that defenses have to account for on every play. No more teeing off on Stafford.

He would be incredible in this offense. McVay could line him up out wide which means he could run jet sweeps and give us all kinds of threat underneath. He is an ideal McVay type backfield piece.

But I don't want another injury time bomb in the backfield. And I want to see them use that round two pick. Especially if it ends up being midround vice late round.

McVay is probably beating the table for McCaffrey though. No doubt in my mind.

I reckon we've got more chance with this Burns than Brian.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports the 49ers and Rams have been "implicated" in a potential trade for Christian McCaffrey.

Fowler also mentioned the Bills as a potential landing spot for McCaffrey, though his contract might be an issue for a Buffalo team that "wants to keep its cap outlook clean for next year due to many top-dollar players on the payroll," per Fowler. The Rams backfield is in flux after the team appeared to part ways with former starter Cam Akers last week. Darrell Henderson worked as LA's lead back in Week 6 against the Panthers. The 49ers are expecting Elijah Mitchell back in the next few weeks after deploying Jeff Wilson as the starter for much of the regular season. The Panthers have been open to trading away CMC since the summer, according to Fowler, who said it would not be a surprise if McCaffrey were dealt before the NFL's November 1 trade deadline.

The whiners are such scumbags I'm not begging for CMC I do feel he helps because of a shitty line he may still be effective when when do open up and has a chance to take it to the house. We need Edge OT and then I'm ok with CMC.

Having said that this rat face bastard and dopey Lynch have Mitchell coming back and while he would kill it there in master splinters offense and running behind Trent Williams they are not in a position to really hand out picks with the lance failure unless they would use lance as the trade bait go all in rt??? You have to think Carolina as much as a bust as he has been still should intrigue them even a a place holder. Inevitably they always involved seems like they have one objective in mind and that's always raising the price for us.

For a team that has our number they sure do worry about us a lot.

I know a lot of people don't want CMC due to injury history, but I agree, pure talent wise he'd be a massive upgrade running and catching out of the backfield.

For anyone hoping for an Oline acquisition and think that CMC’s injury history may turn the Rams off, just remember this. McSnead drafted a 150 lb receiver over a top center prospect.

I think it’s obvious what they’d prefer to trade for.

I would love to have CMC if it doesn’t stop them from getting an edge rusher.
Health on the Oline will improve that unit.

I would take CMC at the right price.

Two things though:

1) I doubt we get the right price for him. They are asking for just too high a cost as their opening request.
2) I also just don't think that position is our first (or even second) priority.

If we feel confident (enough) that the OLine will get better as it gets healthier, then I think you have to push the chips in on an edge rusher. If you don't (and I don't), then you also need some sort of road grading Guard.

Just my two cents.

Well if the 9ers and Rams are the top teams dueling for him right now neither of them have a 2023 1st round pick. So it's possible the Panthers take the best offer and maybe it's lower than they expected. That happens. Also a 2nd round pick for an offensive skill player who has been a disappointment on the injury side seems appropriate to me. Maybe it means something else thrown in too, like a player or midround pick, but it's possible they move him for a 2nd IMO.

I'd be trying to get Moton from them though. I've always respected his game and we could use him.

Brian Burns or Josh Allen (Jaguars) would be my trade targets. Floyd has been invisible, Gaines has been hurt (and is a free agent along with A-Rob at the end of the season), and the other pass-rushers inspire no confidence (maybe Hardy turns into something, but he's a seventh round pick). And AD is not going to be around forever. I want a young edge rusher (preferably re-signed to a long-term contract) to make our defense go to the next level.
