Sounds good but what kind of OL would they get for Akers?

The Broncos lost their #1 RB (Williams); and the #2 RB (Gordon) has had fumble issues. Just don't know that Denver has an OL it would move that could start for the Rams.

There are not a lot of Austin Corbett / Cleveland situations out there. Prior to the season, I brought up Tevin Jenkins from Chicago. Like Corbett, Jenkins had a very disappointing rookie season, and the Bears had a new coaching staff and front office. Unfortunately, Jenkins won the starting-RG-spot; and may not be available.

Hope I am wrong.
Sadly, I'm not even sure that Akers is an upgrade over Mike Boone. Boone has been a much much efficient back in his career.

You're also right about Denver's OL. They don't really have any great depth to move for anything, and they certainly can't afford to trade away their starters.

There have been so many OL injuries across the league so far that have decimated OL depth everywhere, even practice squads.

Along with Derrick Brown, yes, but Carolina is undergoing a huge rebuild. In my opinion, if someone gets two first round picks, a second, and one or two good young players, nobody should be untouchable. And there's a lot of smokescreens around the trade deadline, so I'm skeptical that Burns is completely untouchable.
Burns is a young stud, the kind of player you build around.

My thoughts - we can find a rb. We won the SB with sub par run game.

No on CMC - too injury prone. No team in their right mind would ever give 2 first their smoking something sure it is a negotiation stance.

Why would Carolina give up on Burns? Makes zero sense. They know CMC is expensive and injury prone. Makes total sense to send CMC packing.

We must fix the OL. Specifically LG I hate Evans and Edwards. Can Jackson hold up at LT who knows. Honestly like a poster said Corbett was somewhat luck because Cleveland thought he was a bust.

Needs - OBJ, RB, OLB that can make a difference plus a meaningful upgrade at least 1 or 2 OL positions.

We all know that is impossible too many areas of need. So it all comes down to the million dollar question - who of that list is most important? Is it OBJ because he and Stafford are on the same page (but will he have knee concerns?).

Is it a RB which I do believe we can find for very little cost not named CMC.

Is it a OLB dominator since our pass rush has been really lacking - they are hard to find and never cheap? Quinn is the only obvious name, but he and McVay had beef, he doesn't like LA in general and the question with him can he still be as effective as he was last year 18.5 sacks has 108 career sacks which BTW is only 10 less sacks than Von over their career - both came in 2011. This was based on when he started the season.

Is it OL help but the problem is OL help very hard to find as well as hard to blend new players into an existing Oline. The team is not scoring points which all signs point to the OL. Me personally I want a OLB and OBJ and a cheap RB, but I think we need to figure out the O line.

Lastly this season is all about parity which bodes really bad for the Rams finding a firesale outside of Carolina. So many competitive teams at 3-3 at this juncture nothing will change in 2 weeks by the trade deadline most likely outside a disgruntled player.

All I can say Les Snead is the #1 best GM out there he is going to earn every bit of his new deal.

Agreed. 32 teams, and 5 OL-starters-per-team. That's 160 NFL OL starters.

In my opinion, there are not 160 quality Offensive Linemen in the NFL.

We have Donald for the remainder of this season and probably next season. Who knows how much longer Stafford is going to play; I occasionally catch Kelly Stafford's podcast and she's been urging Matthew to retire asap. This team will look completely different in three seasons. We need all future early draft picks IMO. We're staring at a complete roster rebuild.
Why in the world is she encouraging her husband to retire now? He's at the peak of his career here in LA. Besides they just bought not one but two mansions and lawn maintenance people are expensive these days......

Myles Simmons is reporting that Akers is done with the Rams. They are actively shopping him. Maybe Carolina would be open to a RB swap? Or maybe for Austin Corbett? Having Akers would allow them to openly shop McCaffery.

Williams better be as advertised or RB could be a problem for the rest of the season.

Their kids are getting to the age where they need their dad around more and she is terrified of brain trauma in the sport, if I remember correctly. She says she attempts to have the conversation but Matthew just usually blows her off hahaha. I think if it were up to her, Matthew would've retired after last season.

I tried to find something on this topic. Unfortunately, all I could find was something more disturbing.

From April 2022
Kelly Stafford and her NFL player husband Matthew Stafford are struggling with a big question: When is the right time for Matthew to get a vasectomy?

On her podcast, The Morning After with Kelly Stafford, the influencer spoke to her athlete husband about their plans for him to get a vasectomy in order to ensure that they will not have more children.

Kelly explained why her husband, NFL player Matthew Stafford, is concerned about getting a vasectomy.
Kelly joked, “I’m trying to get him snipped during The Masters but the a**hole won’t find a doctor.”

Honestly, I'm hoping more and more for CMC. I'm buzzed and about to smoke tho.

Well... We don't want of the non-quality OL starters anyway. That should reduce the number from 160 to around 100... :laugh2:

Yeah her podcast is on spotify/apple/wherever. She's mentioned a few times she wants Matthew to retire sooner rather than later, and on the most recent one (after the 49ers game I believe) she mentioned how she hated her girls seeing their dad get the shit kicked out of him and she doesn't want to see him go through what Tua and others have.

I started listening because she's had Matthew on a few times and continue to listen every now and then whenever I need a new podcast.

If CMC has a say, then it seems the Rams will strongly be in consideration.

He’s friends with Stafford and has ties in the LA area. He could totally change the offense if he could stay healthy.

If it happened I’d hold him out until after the 49ers game. I could see those dirty bastards trying to end his season on every tackle.
