So they’re “mortgaging the future by going all in” and “anything short of a championship will be a big failure,” right, national media? Right? <tap, tap> Can you hear me? Is this microphone on?
<crickets>
Forgive my ignorance and I hate to get into these kids pockets, but I really struggle to see why these teams are paying these WRs so much given that so many WRs seem to be in each and every draft class.
Sure you need skill / talent. But a lesser player who just happens to be on the same page with his QB can put up good numbers.
Where are all the Super Bowl rings for these high priced divas?
SMH that would piss me off to no end.I have, and no. When we stunk pre-McVay, it wasn’t as bad because we were too pathetic. I saw the last two games at candlestick and even Rams fans were disappointed we didn’t give them much of a game.
In the ‘80s, when both teams were good, it was much more acrimonious. I left one game with a smattering of all the concession fare on me. So rude to throw food at another person, doncha think?
I would suspect it’s like that again now that both teams are good.
(I no longer live in the area)
fatty discrimination! ~ @MerlinSMH that would piss me off to no end.
It's a good thing the common American is a out of shape fatty.
Um...
Where have the 9ers made the kinds of trades the Rams did when they went "all-in"?
I'm just saying.. there's a difference between trying to pay all your stars and what the Rams did.
Doesn't fit the same.
And those assholes haven't won the big one.
The multiple firsts for Ramsey and Stafford.. PLUS the high price for Miller when they were already at a massive pic deficit is what defined “all-in”.The Niners, just like the Rams, have been aggressive since 2017 with trades of high picks for players.
It's true, they have not 'won the big one', but they have been successful, with wins and playoff appearances ... 3 Western Division titles (same as the Rams) ... 2 Super Bowls (same as the Rams) ... 4 NFC Championship Games (two more than the Rams).
2020 … 2nd for Dee Ford … and in another move, 3rd and 4th for Emmanuel Sanders ... similar to the Rams trading a 2nd for Sammy Watkins in 2017 and a 1st for Brandin Cooks in 2018
2021 … three #1s and a 3rd for Trey Lance ... similar to the Rams' Goff trade-up but totally unsuccessful … and, they were in on the Stafford trade but the Rams won-out
2022 … 2nd, 3rd and 4th for Cristian McCaffrey … similar to Stafford but, in that case, the Niners won-out by out-bidding the Rams ... believe the Rams lacked a 4th round pick to include in their offer
2023 … 3rd for a two-month-rental Chase Young ... another unsuccessful move but similar to the Von Miller situation where the Rams gave-up a 2nd and 3rd but Denver also took-on most of Miller's remaining cap hit because the Rams were cap-constrained
Winning the Lombardi makes a huge difference. Would prefer that to the four NFC Championship appearances. However, the Niners approach of trading high pick for players to help them win immediately has been very similar to the Rams.
The multiple firsts for Ramsey and Stafford.. PLUS the high price for Miller when they were already at a massive pic deficit is what defined “all-in”.
The difference in capital invested in trades for stars isn’t even close.
Right…analogy doesn’t mean identical.Um...

The same applies to all the 9ers picks. It was close in my opinion.
At the time of the trades, the #1s for Ramsey and Stafford all projected to be late round picks because the Rams were viewed as Super Bowl contenders. The disastrous 2022 made the '23 pick a high one.
The same applies to the Cooks and Miller deals.
It’s tough to marshall much of a defense when you and a buddy are sitting in a sea of red and gold. This was a mob of exceptional asshole reprobates.SMH that would piss me off to no end.

Watching a Rams' victory is my favorite.Meh. Like I said, they can win as many games as they want. As long as their season ends with a loss at some point I'm good. I don't care if we have to see a Patrick Mahomes threepeat. Then next year they gotta make some unpopular cuts. And pay a quarterback elite money when he isn't elite.
For sure, I've seen Ram fans getting out of hand at a few games I've been to and told them to slow their role. It’s tough to marshall much of a defense when you and a buddy are sitting in a sea of red and gold. This was a mob of exceptional asshole reprobates.
Cowboys losses are a good time as well.Watching a Rams' victory is my favorite.
Watching the 49ers lose a game is my second-most-favorite.
I just think it’s analogy that cheapens what that Rams have done on both sides of the SB victory.Right…analogy doesn’t mean identical.
When you include Goff & his draft capital?Exactly. That's why 'The difference in capital invested in trades' is close
That's why, in my post, I compared the Goff trade capital to the Lance trade capital, acknowledging that the Lance deal was unsuccessful. However, the draft capital was Very Close. When you include Goff & his draft capital?
Again.. not close.
