Big sigh.Already making excuses for Goff’s future play.
Big sigh.Already making excuses for Goff’s future play.
AhEM!Great post.
Ppl say Stafford played well despite being in Detroit. He played well despite having a much less than perfect scenario. Why say Goff won’t play well because he is in Detroit? Especially if he believes that Jared is very good?Big sigh.
I almost forgot about those heated Bradford debates lolHow very optimistic of you
But yes the Bradford threads did die down eventually and we almost never hear of Tye Hill, Alex Barron, Donnie Avery, Mardy Gilyard, Brian Quick, Greg Robinson, Jason Smith etc etc etc. And none of them were QB's that took us to the Super Bowl
Well, we should never had dumped Warner. Hey trainer, how about trying a glove on for Capt Kurt instead of Arizona?
Speaking of Mardy Gilyard, I throught he was going to be a stud. And as I am 90% of the time (100% of the time with my fiancee), I was wrong. How very optimistic of you

I reread the thread and did not see anyone say Goff sucked.Offering a critique is one thing. Saying he sucked as a QB is hating. You don't win 42 games under center by sucking. There is no head coach/offensive genius who can get that out of a player who "sucks". That's all I'm saying. Is Stafford better? Absolutely. Am I happy with the switch? Absolutely. Did Goff suck? Not by any stretch. Just because there is allegedly a "group" who deems Goff as untouchable, that doesn't include fans who don't believe he sucked.
That is the point of the trade. The roster is a win now roster. How long can AD and Ramsey play at this level? Ditto for Kupps and Woods? This isn’t about 5-10 years from now. The window is wide open. It only gets harder when key dominating players begin to age. One day there will be a bit of a rebuild, but for now it’s not in consideration. By then the Rams will have draft picks and cap spaceBTW I agree that likely short term we are better, my fear is long-term where will we be? QBs don't grow on trees no matter who your coach is.
I guess that's just my
old school preference of building a long-term solution where you have a guy like Rothilsberger or Rivers for 12-14 yrs. Now we will likely be looking for a QB again in 3-5 yrs.
AgreeI honestly cannot say that I have seen ANY hating on Goff on this board. Maybe in the GDTs?? Dunno because I don't visit those often.
From the sounds of it he was the main character holding it back. Scaling back the offense, regressing, check downs galore, turnovers. The roster was good enough last year to do moreWhat I see is a lot of putting the blame solely on Goff for our O going downhill the last couple years, when there were other factors. (Maybe not so much here on rod, but in social media forums generally.)
It wasn’t, but teams seldom can have a perfect situation, especially with a salary cap.Hmm... While I'm sure Snead and McVay are a partnership, personally I think McVay in effect does have control over personnel. Certainly in terms of priorities for positions or offense vs defense.
In any event, forget about who's in control or who's to blame, including the coach or former qb. Nevertheless imo the Ram' offense in 2019 and 2020 lacked key offensive personnel and was not nearly as good a roster as in 2017 and 2018.
Also if Bulger had not executed the offense at such a high level.at the time warner was fumbling almost every time he was hit. i still think we would have kept him if his wife didn't get involved. bulger could have held down the fort untill warner learned to use a glove. dam that woman

His story was excellent and he was electrifying with Cincinnati! To his credit, he did stick around the league for a while. But I hoped he'd be a stud as well; he was, by all accounts, a very good person.

No offense here OC but that's a silly bet. Chances are Goff is gonna struggle this year. No OL affords such protections that a defense can load up the box and disregard the pass and they'll hold up. Bottom line is he's got no real weapons to throw to and he's gonna struggle for that reason.Goff is getting set up in Detroit to succeed, he has Holmes, he has a stud Center decent LT and maybe the next Anthony Munoz at RT, and 2 decent guards, two good to possibly very good RBs, not much at WR but I’ll spot you that
Dude has a good year and I’ll let you and your fellow experts know about it, and...if he indeed sux, then I’ll bow my head in shame and create a thread indicating I was wrong
Ummm. Please don't do either of those things. That's just.....cringe worthy bro....Dude has a good year and I’ll let you and your fellow experts know about it, and...if he indeed sux, then I’ll bow my head in shame and create a thread indicating I was wrong
So accountability is not an issue with you, that’s alright, I saw you had your 49th the other day, congrats, that being said, we’re a generation apart.Ummm. Please don't do either of those things. That's just..... Ugh..... What has happened to this place.
The same excuse that Stafford had for 12 years....okAlready making excuses for Goff’s future play.
That was unnecessary.Hello Mrs. Goff yes we still support your son and yes we'll take some home baked cookies for our football discussion this year.
C'mon train, this is a Ram board. You know how we roll, don'tcha?? There is absolutely no topic we can't run with seemingly no end in sight.can only beat a dead horse so long....................
train
Not if you like cookies as much as I do. Plus Jared's Mom is hot. That was unnecessary.
