I'm not good with "rolling with Goff" but I like the idea of him returning and needing to beat out his competition for his job. I think he'll be fucking pissed. And I think that would be good for him.

But after this last Snead press conference I think that ship has sailed.

Well, but "rolling with Goff" I have no problem including competition into the mix, and agree he'd be pissed and it would be good for him. What kills me is if they dump him, he's going to go to his next team with a chip on his shoulder as well and if it's a team like Indy, we'll probably see significant improvement and wonder why we ate the dead cap just to get rid of him. Seems like our history with promising QBs we give up on.

As for what Snead said, all I can say is that if they weren't set on moving him and didn't have a solid plan in place when he uttered those words, he committed major media malpractice.

Feeling some draft action right now and since I'm looking at Washington...

They draft 19th. What will QB look like when they're up? I think that's important for what they would be planning. There's four first round QBs, maybe five if you count Jones. So Lawrence & Wilson go 1 and 2. Fields is gone by 10. Lance has some concerns but he's a freak so there's a really good chance he's off the board by 15.

So Mac Jones may be there. Maybe Lance too. Maybe. OR... They could swing a deal with the Rams for Goff for their 19th pick. But I'm not sure that Washington would part with that particular choice for Goff and that depends on the board projection but this is also a salary dump they know it and the Rams know it. Also I don't know that contenders are going to be in the Goff market in fact I suspect they won't be but who knows. Either way I don't think they'd give us the 19th pick for Goff they would offer round 2 and change and try to avoid that. Just a guess.

And seeing as how the Rams need to clear cap anyway and WR might be a targeted area to do that, and since Washington needs receivers I suspect they might get the Rams to sweeten the deal with Kupp or Woody and expand the deal out to cover both.

Flipping that around I expect that 19th pick would be very appealing to the Rams especially if they have their eye on one of those QBs. From there they could move up in front of the Pats to get Jones or go higher and get Lance in the early teens.

I don’t think anyone has mentioned that the offense has changed from 2018 to now .. when we had the “great” goff .. you know the guy that diced the Viking and went toe to toe with mahomes and won in a shoot out ... maybe the change in offensive philosophy is as much to blame .. we do none of the jet sweeps there’s no more 15 yard dig routes from woods ... I mean it’s not like goff couldn’t operate that offense

And now all of a sudden he had lost it (I know plenty of people who thought he never had it but I ignore them ) ..sure we lost Gurley but Anderson came in and there was zero drop off in production so it wasn’t all the talent of gurley that made the offense tick .. so no Gurley no Watkins or cooks as a deep threat ... know what Else is different the OLINE ...

I don’t want to lose goff for anyone (short of mahomes ) but we have no control of what’s going to happen .. but be warned if he goes somewhere else and lights it the fuck up I’m gonna be ready with the I told you so’s

Bro first off I gotta say this....kaepernick was never good. Like others have mentioned he was beat out by gabbert. And you somehow think he’s gotten better in his 5 years away from football?

On top of that Our new “competition” for Goff would be in the national media all training camp and force our entire team to answer the same non football questions about social justice and the NFLs treatment of kaeppernick over and over. It’s a huge distraction for a guy that probably sucks worse than he used to suck .....I kinda feel you’re trolling
Lol trolling because I’m making a discussion all I’ve said was bring him in for competition not once have I said release Goff and sign him or trade Goff and sign him. I’m thinking of low cost options that’s available to push Goff. That’s it!!

I'm not in favor of it because of the media shit storm - it got bad with Gurley too.

But damn posters on here are getting way too condescending for no reason.
Exactly it’s crazy. I’m just tryna throw some random ideas out there but now all of a sudden I’m a troll lol

I will say if we trade Goff and don't get Watson - I will be pissed.

Watson is the only QB that I believe is available that I would be willing to go with as a replacement for Goff

But I really don't like losing as many 1st round picks that I believe we are going to lose in this trade.

We really need a 1st round pick in 22 to pick our future long term LT replacement even if we have to move up to get him.

I agree Dx... that's not trolling. In fact, Kaepernicks's last year he threw 16 TD against 4 interceptions in 12 games. So I get where you are coming from. That said, I would NEVER want this guy to join the Rams. Way too much baggage... he could ruin the team (and turn off the fans) all by himself, IMO.

I’ll bet some ROD bucks that we trade Goff and get Watson.

I legit think that’s the plan now.
Idk I don’t think we have the draft capital
I just read a article that Marcus Mariota could be in play he has no guaranteed money left on his contract

I agree with him being a big distraction and most likely not worth it. I was just thinking who could we bring in to show Goff that the team is serious about competing. And all the reason he wouldn’t make sense, make sense to me in that way because McVay and Snead wouldn’t put up with it unless they was serious about a competition with Goff.

NFL record for most rushing yards by a quarterback in a single game (181 yards).

Kap has been hit so many times, by playing running back at the QB position, it has to have taken its toll on him physically and mentally.
I think he is fine in that respect.
The last half season be played he was actually better as a passer.
I don’t want him because once he made a bundle of money he has no interest in playing anymore.

Mariota struggles throwing the football, we watched that with the Raiders when he played, came in, did offer some nice runs with the RPO, but on 3rd & Goal with the game on the line, threw the ball into the turf with a TE wide open for 6, Raiders kick the FG and lose the game. At this point Mariota a good backup IMHO.

He looked good for stretches with the Raiders last year.....then would came that throw that would name you think, “oh, that’s right. That’s why he doesn’t start anymore.”

He has a good arm and can run.. or he used to be able to.

But his accuracy isn't starting QB material (59% career)

And this is when he was playing... I do think some teams avoided him because of the political divide that could follow his signing.

BUT if he was really good - someone would take the chance because some teams need to win - or people get fired.

He just isn't that good....
