I don't know if he's predicable, because you have no idea what Goff is showing up week to week.
Ill take that over having a guy that doesn't show up at all.
We've had some long, bad years doing the QB shuffle.

Adam schefter on the radio today (link below) was asked what qbs were on the market. The usual suspects but he said something that caught my ear:

He says yes Goff is on the market and then says Wentz is on the market but the price is too high. Hmmmm Goff is definitely worth more than Carson. Maybe Goff gets a better return then we thought.

Time stamp is about 33 minutes

@Dxmissile we may not always see eye to eye but I understand what you mean. It's the offseason for us already and so.etimes we just bounce ideas or just open things up for discussion like small talk at a bar about the rams. I was going to say something about kapp yesterday just to say man I know it's an option but I pray they don't bring him in for all the reasons stated above and then some. I hear where you coming from a lot of times it's just for feedback from posters especially the most knowledgeable ones. I do it all the time and sometimes this is the place to come when you respect some of the other opinions. We all may not always agree but some peoples opinion in here is very appreciated and respected. I personally love outside the box thinking good or bad.
Appreciate it!!! I do like throwing ideas out there. I like coming on here and going through the different opinions that everyone has. I like having discussions about making this team that we all root for better.

What if it means the asking price is REALLY low on Goff, so he doesn't think it is "too high" like Wentz?

Exactly and I know I do my best to preface everything with like "I'm not advocating but just wanted your take" which is true or maybe even redo my proposal and make it your own. lololol.
I mentioned Watson last year to the rams on this board for Goff as fodder little did I know these things would all happen now and would anyone do it but it was like I had become a 49er fan or something. Lolololol. Blastphomy
I enjoy getting feedback from people and I enjoy reading there hypotheticals as well. It lets us all discuss hope and dream lol. Especially in the off season I get the feeling this should be an eventful one perhaps for the rams and the rest of the NFL.

I'd rather have none of the time for that money.
I disagree on that. At least we are winning 10 games with Goff. With other QBs. we would probably be 7 - 9 at best. I don't care what some people say, there were games that we won because Goff was good at QB and even in the games he wasn't at his best where we won, I believe the other QB (Gardner Minshew for one) would have lost. This is the one area where I strongly disagree with a few posters on this board.

That's what I've been asking in like a dozen posts.
To me whatever my feelings on Goff wether they are good or bad or maybe frustrating. Even with that contract it's not bad for the acquiring team it's bad for the rams but it's wbelow the going rate for a qb who has accomplished as much as he has. So to me a straight trade for picks he is worth a 1st and a 3rd maybe a 4th instead (depending on where the picks are). Unless he is used in a Watson trade then that makes it different but I wouldn't give Houston 3 1sts if they took Goff.

Goff should hold value and I hope they are interested but the colts would be my target. The lions pick is too high they wouldn't do that unless it's the Stafford 1st rounder they acquire that they would come back to us.
If the lions trade Stafford to the colts and get a first plus from them. We still could get the colts pick lol.
That scenario works the lions get extra picks still keep their main pick and goff. There rebuild is off to a good start.

he’s not good enough to justify the media shitstorm that will follow him.
But that’s why I think it would light a fire under Goff because he would know they McVay and Snead are serious about an open competition.

its making me laugh a little bit... one hand people want to say the QB isn't too blame because of otehr issues... but then acting like McVay only won because of Goff - you can't have it both ways.

People do realize that goff was 0-7 before mcvay got here right?

Listen Goff gets credit for sure... but you guys are just insane.

McVay is the reason we have come back.

The main reason Goff is on the hot seat is his is lack of progress in going through reads quickly, which leads to turnovers. Kaepernick was jettisoned from the pros for being even worse at this than Goff ever thought of, don't think this is an answer.

I just can't envision any way we can fit in another $20M+ QB on the roster cap-wise on top of the trade hit with Goff (let alone a $30M+ QB). It's just not possible without creating some new holes on the roster on top of what we are already looking at (LB, Edge, Center, maybe CB, etc.).

Even if Goff is traded, expect to see Wolford or some other cheap QB (reclamation, draft pick, etc.) running the show for 2021+.

Maybe but what he offers with his legs makes up for that to be a pocket passer only and lacking those things are more serious

Were that true he might not have lost his job to the pedestrian Blaine Gabbert.

Different circumstances Blaine gabbert was a number 1 pick we all know the love affair teams have with a number 1 pick Bradford prime example. I just feel like we should welcome anyone that can push Goff. You mean to tell me McVay couldn’t turn him into a winner.

Bro first off I gotta say this....kaepernick was never good. Like others have mentioned he was beat out by gabbert. And you somehow think he’s gotten better in his 5 years away from football?

On top of that Our new “competition” for Goff would be in the national media all training camp and force our entire team to answer the same non football questions about social justice and the NFLs treatment of kaeppernick over and over. It’s a huge distraction for a guy that probably sucks worse than he used to suck .....I kinda feel you’re trolling
