Means I must have used 2022... that's my bad ... a big mistake ... have to apologize for that one.

thanks for the correction ... honestly appreciate it.

All good. Mistakes happen. I was just confused and was trying to figure out if there was something I was missing.
Here in NYC, there have been a number of reports and stories (there's also a ton of bull-shit media here) that Martindale more than just butted-heads with HC Brian Daboll.

Reports that Martindale was more of a Defense-against-the-Offense guy. Now the Giants' offense was bad most of the year, and had a ton of injuries.

Martindale strikes me as a Greg Williams type DC. Talented but huge ego that can get in-the-way.

He would not be a good option for the Rams in my opinion, where culture seems to be extremely important.

To be fair, my view on Wink Martindale may be slanted. Tic-Tac-Dough was not a good show in my opinion ...

I'd recommend reading some recent reporting. I'm not saying Martindale can't be an asshole, but it paints Brian Daboll as the biggest prick in NY. He reportedly is prone to having complete meltdowns when things aren't going well and blaming his assistants. And he does it during games on the coaching comms to the point that it interferes with their ability to get plays in.
Flores is impressive. I love his defenses. Only thing is I doubt he's compatible with McVay, just two drastically different styles.

Re: Wink I think you gotta be careful with older coaches. With this staff in particular energy is important and McVay wants someone to duel with in his live periods in practice. So his hire on the defensive side has to be someone with the energy to deal with all that. Also and btw I think McVay and the DC under him benefit from that. Staley was far better under us than he was by himself. There is probably a link there I'd say.
I believe Flores is under contract with Minnesota, so I wasn't presenting him as an option. Just saying he's a good DC.
Surprised they have had that many since they only had one head coach and other than Rex Ryan and maybe Chuck Pagano, I don't see head coaches in that group.
Harbaugh hasn't been there for 20 years. I think he's at 13 or 14 years. Brian Billick was there before that. But Harbaugh has had a good number of DCs over his time there (Rex Ryan, Greg Mattison, Chuck Pagano, Dean Pees, Wink Martindale, and now Mike Macdonald).

The stories have been on both sides. May be truth on both sides too. Possible both Daboll and Martindale are A-holes.

If I was going to hire a hot coordinator type in this window it would be MacDonald. I think he's going to be one of those guys other teams watch vids of each week while he innovates shit.
I mean, he should be a top candidate as long as he can even fart in the direction of HC capabilities.

Actually he has been coach of the Ravens for 16 years which isn't 20 years but is still a long ass time as coach

I could only imagine Puka getting a 15 yard cushion playing the seahags, and then the poor tackling, he would score on almost every catch.

I don't think anyone here thinks that Morris is a perfect DC and some on here think he ran over their dog. I do however think he'll make a better HC than DC 2nd time around. The strengths he has as a DC: communication, inspiration, connecting with players are the strengths that best translates to a HC.

Hope he gets a job. Don't hope it's with Seattle.

I don't like Morris as a DC but don't begrudge him another shot as a HC, especially if it gets the Rams two 3rd round comp picks. Frankly from family in Seattle it sounds like Morris might end up there. His knowledge of McVay's offense and the Ram's defensive personnel apparently will be the difference. But they are also going to interview a second time Ejiro Evero who is IMO a far better DC than Morris. But Morris trumps him with his more recent experience with McVay. The fact that two of the five second interviews are with former Ram coaches says a lot of about their motivation. IMO they see the Rams as their biggest competition.

I would like to see Morris get a HC offer but I wonder if he may wind-up being the 2nd choice at several spots.

If it's ...
Harbaugh - Chargers
Belichick - Falcons
Ben Johnson - Washington
Quinn - Seahawks

That would leave just
the Panthers.

Would be weird for Seattle to push Pete out to hire a lesser version of Pete.

Quinn lost his hc card when he didn't reel in ratboy during the superbowl after Julio made a circus catch to put the falcons into easy fg range with the chance to make the cheats use all their timeouts. An 11 point lead would have been insurmountable at that point.

Did I read right that Raheem leaves for a HC position and it’s 2 3rds?

2020 better in everything ... but Chargers worse than Rams in most everything on in same categories ... so maybe not Stayle

But ... based on ranks ... 2023 not best of Morris' 3 years. It "looked" better based on CB depth but was worst performance
not by a little ...

Interesting ... cannot wait for a few to blow a gasket.
