Well I’m happy we reached the dance.
Not happy by the results obviously..

Goff looked shell shocked.

McVay called a shit game overall and looked like a deer in the headlights.

Youth and inexperience fucked us.

If they would have treated it like a regular season game until the final 3 minutes. I understand it’s hard to do though.

To those saying we’ll be here next year, smh.

Do you have any idea how hard it is to get to the SB? Especially multiple times?

Good chance we might not, odds aren’t in our favor.

Going to take a bit to get over this one.

Agree !00% about us probably not being their next year.
I do believe in our QB/HC combo for the foreseeable future.

I love both of them. Both just didn’t look themselves this game in any aspect really.

Which makes me smh to those saying give McVay 10+ Years or whatever he wants contract. You don’t do that type of my business for the sustainable future. It’s bad business.

I agreep 100% with everything you just said.

What a turn of events since the beginning of the season. Everyone thought our defense was our Achilles heal and might be our downfall. Who would have thought it was poor play by our offense that would bring us down?

Not that we lost because of bad calls but Goff was late hit out of bounds and no that was not holding on Sullivan.

lol bro you keep posting this in all these threads... thus making them longer and defeating your purpose!
My work is done.

No offense to you though brother.

This isn't Kung Fu Panda bro. You can't just decide to be better, otherwise everyone would do it. Even if it is possible, does the other team have the option to decide to be even betterer? I mean, if you can raise your level of play through force of will, so can the other guy.

Joke all you want but we did not match their intensity, focus, or competitiveness. Over the last two years combined we have the best offense in football, and in the biggest game of their life they put up 3 points. The patriots raised their level of play and we did not match it, flat out. We're a much better offense than we showed today, but not doing it when it matters most says something. Our players still had a chance to step up late after getting beat down for 3 quarters. A few throws, a few dropped passes, a few blown blocks...

Hi everyone, sorry for the loss, but I don't feel so bad. We had a great year and the future of our team looks even better. Goff and McVay just need more experience.

Were we out-coached? Yes, a little, but we also held Brady to 0 TD, 1 INT, 1 Strip Sack and a QBR of 71, which I think was his worst performance of his 9 SBs. We held them to 3 points until the 4th quarter. The game was tied until about 7 minutes left. Does that sound like we were out-coached?

How many of you saw the PHANTOM HOLDING PENALTY on Gurley's nice run to about the Pats 25 yard-line, which would have given us a 1st down in the 4th Q? The score was 3-3 at that time, and we were going to take the lead. The replay showed NO HOLDING - a bogus call by the refs (We need the new rules to take effect so we can stop the cheating). To me that was the turning point of the game. We were building momentum there and would have taken the lead, but we went backwards, never used Gurley again, and the Pats scored a TD on the next drive because we were deflated by that call.

Early in the game Coleman was called for hitting a defenseless receiver. That beautiful play pinned the Pats to 3rd and 20 on about the 15 yard line, but that call gave them a first down. It's possible they would have punted and we get the ball in great field position. If you watch that play over, the receiver turns completely around first, and Roby made an ethical wrap-up tackle IMO. Maybe I'm blinded by my Rams' goggles.

Those penalties hurt because this was a tie game after 3.5 quarters, but I think we ultimately lost because we did not run enough. McVay got pass happy again for no reason - like in the Bears' game. If Gurley's last 15 yard run was not called back by a fictitious hold, he would have been 11 for 50 yards on the day; that's 4.5 yards per rush. Rams were able to run the ball, but they chose not to for whatever reason. Pats won because they ran like 32 times to the Rams' 18.

Goff takes too long to pass the ball. The O-Line was decent, but he held the ball too long most of the game, which he always does. His release will become quicker with more experience. If I were him, that would be my focus.

Robert Woods made an amazing catch. If you watch that play in slow-mo, it looks like his left foot was still touching when he caught it, and he got his right foot down. The ball never moved.

Cooks would have caught that TD pass on the right side of the end-zone if his left arm was not grabbed. He's got good hands, so I think that is what happened there. I watched the other one in slow-mo (middle-back of end zone) and 1. Goff was late with his throw 2. He caught it but the defender made a good play to pull his right arm down after he caught it. It's too bad Goff did not see him earlier. We missed an easy TD. Were we out-coached? A little, but we missed some key plays.

I wonder if Gurley is still hurt. He would have killed it today if they played him. I think he wanted to be in there more today. McVay needs to realize how powerful a weapon Gurley is.

Great season. I can see this team here again next year and winning. McVay is very competitive, and he will study this film a lot. He won't let this happen again. These losses are excellent tools to propel us to higher levels. Just think. We were about the worst team in football for over a decade, and in McVay's first 2 years, we have been one of the best. McVay is never satisfied. He was a great player too. I know our future is bright.

Our D! Great job team! Wayde Phillips deserves a lot of credit for getting us to the SB this year. He designed great game-plans for all 3 post-season games. We could have taken this game over at any time. The Pats had the same problem as we did; they could not score either. They punted 6 times, but they were given 4 first-downs by penalties. We punted 9 times today. The game would have been super close, if not another overtime game, if the officiating was better.

It took us almost 20 years to make it back. It sucks we now have back to back losses in the SB against the Pats. Is that a record to go along with Hecker's punt?

Well, here's to next year! I have a feeling we'll be back in the Super Bowl much faster this time. Go Rams and Congrats on an amazing season!

seriously , there is something in goff that just doesn't click it ...... not a WINNER . I would seriously think twice before giving him the big money . He is too inconsistent

I don't agree. Yes, Goff has some bad games and will have more, but they all do. Brady sucked tonight too (INT, Fumble, 0 TDs, 71 QBR).

Did you see Goff in the Saints' game? vs. Cowboys? vs. Chiefs? He's done great under pressure many times. I think he was confused by BB defensive scheming, but he'll get better with time. Remember, many consider BB to be best coach in football history, and he had 2 weeks to game plan. Let Goff play the Pats a few more times, and he'll figure it out. He needs more reps, that's all.

His first year with Fisher was a total loss. He really only has 2 years of coaching so far. It takes time to develop into an elite pro.

Goff isn't a "winner?" That's interesting. Goff, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees are all tied for the NFL lead with 24 wins over the past two years (not counting the playoffs). If you count the playoffs, Brady is number one with 29 wins and Goff and Brees are tied for number two with 26 wins.

Some of y'all need some perspective.

I'm proud of my Rams.
But I'll be honest it's just way to easy to say "We'll be back."
After the 2001 season Superbowl we were all saying "we'll be back" and then 18 years went by.

Let's all be seriously realistic. Getting back to the superbowl will be very very difficult. Sucks that we couldn't capitalize while we were there. But life goes on. We'll all get excited again in free agency and draft.

Hey, the Pats showed the world that it's easy to get to the Super Bowl, every other year. Is BB the smartest man in the world? If they did it, so can we. It's possible.

You wanna know how amazing this team is and this season was?

By the end of it, my wife who HATES football, donned one of my jerseys, put on my Rams cap and didn't just cheer, but was SHOUTING for our Rams.

Every one of my grown kids wanted to watch this game with me when for Week 1, they couldn't find other things to do fast enough.

This was an amazing season and while it didn't end like we all had hoped, it's been a journey that I'll never forget.

Mahomes and Reid put 31 second half points on this so called 85 Bears defense . No excuse for 3 points in 60 minutes
Every drive looked the same

That was in KC and both teams had some busted plays on D.

Neither team really had a big let down on D tonight.

also, styles make fights. This isn't algebra with linear coefficients.

Okay I'm going to say it. Was there cheating going on? I mean, our stellar O line got manhandled! How is that possible? Did the Pats find our tells like we did the Cowboys D?

I dunno, just so unlike us. We were covered like blankets down field, pass rush was epic, running only worked a couple of times.

How did the Pats figure out these plays during the game? Did they really have a great game plan?

This is the vent thread so I'm venting and if it ever comes to light that there was some sort of cheating, I can claim first dibs!
Obviously, they filmed our game planning all week long. Spy Gate II. It's possible. IMO the refs changed the outcome by calling a phantom hold when Gurley ran for about 15, and we were about to take the lead in the 4th.

McVay did very little in his play calling to help Jared. It's easy to forget he's as young as he is and the earliest in their careers a #1 pick started a Super Bowl. If the play calling is better in the 1st quarter this might be a different game. But the offensive game plan IMO was arrogant and didn't do the players any justice.
Maybe we need someone else to call the offensive plays. Let McVay build our play book, but let someone else call the plays on game day.

Yes, that holding call took points off the board for us. After that, I was not the same either. The entire momentum changed there. On the late hit, his foot was in bounds, but it was obvious he was running out, so the refs could have called it if they wanted to.

I think people are overly bummed by this because the GSOT lost a Superbowl and then everything fell apart and we had a decade plus of being terrible. I'm not sure I see this happening with this team yet.

.

That was a tough loss to take. When the d plays lights out like that and the offense can't get out of it's own way, it's tough.

There were two clear td chances for the rams to take and they couldn't do it. That was the difference between winning and losing. Teams that win the superbowl make those plays for tds.

I'm just sick, I'm trying to be glass half full but this hurts bad. I had never been more confident in this team or more sure of a win, I just can't understand what happened to our offense. Worst part was seeing my little boys cry last night. Freak the Patriots
