Rams' cap hit?
Do you mean 'How much cap space do they have?'
If so, it changes with every move. We don't know what Allen Robinson's or Matthew Stafford's 2022 cap hits are because the contract details have not yet come-out. It's all about the details.

As to the second question, the answer is Yes but the numbers vary depending upon whether a player is released or traded (those are different situations), and when a player is released or traded.
Stafford's new cap hit is 13.5 (9.5 savings). We got 7.1 relief from Woods. Haven't seen Robinson's.

Just post below weird tweet by AD could be bad or could be really good

Probably just means that he's got the basics of the contract they've hammered out with the Rams and he's really liking it.

The timing isn't great, but he may not have known about it.

but yeah, it's probably that he's happy with how is contract is turning out and we may find out as soon as tomorrow what it looks like.

That's enough to cover Danielle Hunter's roster bonus if we traded for him, ... or we could apply that money towards his free agent status should he be released, although no guarantee he would pick the Rams as a free agent.

I just saw that on Spotrac.

Salary of $1.5M.

He received a $60M bonus (that has been reported). Spotrac shows a fifth year (2026 voidable?), so the $60M can be spread-out ... for cap allocation purposes ... 60 divided by 5 equals $12M. The salary (1.5) plus the allocated bonus (12) comes to the $13.5M.

As someone who checks Spotrac daily, I would caution that the site does make mistakes and sometimes "jumps-the-gun" in reporting a contract-breakdown. Spotrac has changed Stafford's 2022 cap hit three times today alone. So ... "Grain-of-Salt"

Good job by the Rams brass trading Robert Woods to the Titans.

Sad to see him go but this was the right move by the Rams.

Sad to see him leave. He was one of my favorite Rams.

Best of luck to you Bobby Trees. You will be sorely missed.

I meant what was/is Woods' cap hit for the Rams. Appears that Rams save $7.1 million?

From what I see thus far ... YES

According to Spotrac, Woods carried a $15.7M cap hit to the Rams in 2022.

Per Spotrac, the trade results in $8.6M of Dead-$; and the difference (15.7 - 8.6) is the $7.1M savings.

Kupp will be devastated more than anyone.

I think there's a positive to losing Helmet, Whit and Woods though - along with Corbett, SJD and Williams - a different team is much less likely to get complacent after having won it all

Add that to the 9.5 saved from Stafford and whatever comes from AD contract as well. With the way they structure contracts they could sign multiple players wagoner and Smith were cuts so no effect there on comp formula so losing another 5 for let's say signing Gilmore or an above average cb is worth it and we probably get a better pick back if Gilmore short term there are a lot of options. Curious to see how this plays out.

Very nice thoughts here.

On number 4, I get it... plus we have big bodies in Skowronek and the MASSIVE potential of Jacob Harris.

But man, this hurts. I legit got up from a late nap (lil food coma and exhausted from cleaning all day) and as soon as I saw it, the tears started to fall.

Whit was the steady leader, AD is the guy so good, he may end up on the NFL Mt Rushmore... but Robert Woods... Bobby Trees... he was the heart and soul of this team.

It hurts today and I'll always appreciate how much of a DAWG he was for this team.

dammit... this legit hurts.
Woods was definitely the spiritual leader on offense. Due to planned/unplanned events that has shifted to Kupp. Giving Whit credit too. He was the rock that solidified the offensive foundation. That has shifted to Stafford. I like Goff but he never elevated to either the spiritual leader or the foundational rock that McVay was looking from him.
