We still don't know what we saved on Staffords contract and how ADs contract will look if he indeed comes back.

That said as a collective unit you could be better if you get some dudes that want to win. ZaDarius Wagner and Gilmore ZaDarius and 1 of the other two probably make you a stronger defense all around.

To me hunter would have been key because Hollins would be excellent out there with hunter AD up front and Floyd on the other side then you could consider the other two or maybe one. As of now though Minny saying they keeping hunter could be true could be posturing after 12am we will know.
Also maybe there is a reason ZaDarius suddenly backed out of his contract with Baltimore maybe a call from the Rams??? I find it odd that a very talented edge would back out and then have no market??? His back seemed fine when he came back and he has to pass a physical anyhow.

This one hurts because while it makes sense on the surface Bobby is an amazing player and team mate, the consummate pro, and top man! He is a pros pro and is, I am glad, going to a team who will appreciate him for the great player he is.

$7.1M saved this year by dealing Woods now before the Rams have to pay his $3.5M roster bonus.

Some of that money went to his replacement ARob.

ARob is a better fit for Stafford and probably only costs $4M to $5M this year. It's a win win for the Rams.

Rams and McVay show class and trade Robert Woods to a team he fit and approved.

Now let's get the defense some more help.

Yea with the savings and maybe with an AD restructure too we might save more this year. Next year the cap should jump up big time with the new TV deal coming through. Many around here want Wanger at ILB over a top edge and I dont agree. I would LOVE Wagz at ILB dont get me wrong, but with Ernest Jones entering his 2nd year I don't consider that a gaping hole like it was before with Reeder. To me we HAVE to sign a veteran edge presence across from Floyd that can give us at least 10 sacks. It's just a must. And Rochelle is nice young corner but we need to sign a vet CB too. To me those should be bigger priorities over ILB but that's just me. Depends on what Raheem wants to do on defense next year. But order #1 should be keeping AD happy and giving him lots of pass rush talent around him to take pressure off. There's no coincidence that AD's overall tackles doubled in 2021 vs 2020 & 2019. Sack numbers about the same but he was all over the field more last year making tackles.

Oh right, they cut him to save paying him the signing bonus, and he re-signed days later saving them $$. Then they cut him AGAIN.... Good lord I really was hating the FO back then...

You get us ZaDarius and Gilmore resign Obj and I'm good tell wagner you can retire and play here for free and an AT&T commercial. Although he would look good in the middle of that chargers defense and I think they just cleared money today they have like what 29 million available something silly. But I'd be thrilled with those two Gilmore and ZaDarius.

Course a total different route if we got hunter and Gilmore that would be my first preference.
