They have room to bring up other players or better yet, poach some players with potential from other teams practice squads.

There is obviously some issues in the RB room and I'm sure that will be addressed, however, I understand the players released. Henderson was hurt once again when called upon, so they have Akers & Williams, who IMO, will get the majority of the playing time and I don't think they are bringing in Melvin Gordon either, really no reason to, they will go with Akers, Williams & the Little River Band (Ronnie Rivers) most likely.

Justin Hollins, well, if Hardy is ready that is one option or maybe they want to look at a few others on the practice squad in Zach VanValkenburgh, Keir Thomas or Brayden Thomas. Also I would not be surprised if LT A.J. Arcuri is promoted to the active roster permanently.

Still, Akers is under contract through the 2023 season while Henderson is due to hit free agency following THIS season. If McVay & Akers have reached a mutual understanding, perhaps Akers sticks ?
Maybe.....just thought we should showcase him cuz we need all the picks we can get. I hope Akers shows up the rest of the season but if not, they need to go after a back like Pollard or Jacobs. We need some juice back there and if Akers doesn't show anything, it'll be a foolish gamble to hope he returns to form next year.

It's not fixing anything. It would be smart to have showcased him in an attempt to get a comp pick. What's done is done though.
I think using the roster spot is more valuable and I need to see as much of Akers and Williams as possible

Akers isn’t an FA.

I like it.. not because I don’t like Henderson or Hollins or Blanton… it’s because they’re doing nothing and aren’t in the team’s future.

Let’s start churning that fucking roster.
Gotta agree.

Hendo was the best RB on the team this year but did they intent to resign him? If not, then fine release him, though there has to be something behind the scenes to have caused it.

Go out and sign a big, quick back off somebody's PS, preferrably a rookie who they won't lose in the off season. D'Vonte Price? So they miss out on a 6th or 7th round comp in 2024? Oh shit!!! Call the cops!!!

Not sure why we need to see them based on the FA market coming up for running backs. I'd go get one of them as they are better than what we got now plus they aren't breaking the bank as bad as other positions. Williams I get seeing, Cam not so much.

Lol He gave up 12 pressures and 4 Sacks IN ONE GAME...

But yah...reductive...
Reductive because you’re not acknowledging that they’ve done a ton to avoid having him play. Guys keep going down.
They HAVE brought guys in.

But guys keep getting hurt.

It's not just a about losing a late pick. We could have packaged it with something else for trades. Oh well, that avenue is gone. Hopefully the fuss it's causing is all for not.

Who says to use the roster spot on a running back?
