Add Zach Moss to Henderson and Brown and we got a damned good backfield. We are Going to mentally have to adjust of not have one premiere back. With the Rams grace of backs over the decades I know It’ll be tough to do.

I wouldn't be angry with giving up a 6th rounder for Saquon Barkley...

You PAC 12 followers... What do you think of Joshua Kelly from UCLA?

Looks like he would be a great fit for this offense based on some of the highlights I watched. More impressive than Moss to me.

the RFA process is pretty clear.
they tendered him with 2nd round designation. Gives them right to match offer sheet or they lose player but receive the 2nd round comp.
I think only way they could trade him for less would be by matching the offer sheet and then trading him.
Or if nobody signs him to offer sheet, they can trade him (I assume similar to franchise rules that there is short window for extension or he can’t sign new deal until new league year)

I think Moss would be a GREAT compliment to Henderson and maybe the one I want the most (outside of the very top guys), but, really only if we could grab him in the 4th. I can't see us using another 3rd on a RB in back to back seasons, but, we definitely need to address the RB position at some point. Brown is always hurt and Henderson was hurt at a time we needed him last year.

Rams show hand by talking to 2 RBs
by Bret Stuter

How long were the LA Rams pondering parting ways with RB Todd Gurley? Well, the team had to have decided before the NFL Scouting Combine. Why? Well, the team had limited time slots for interviewing prospects, and yet made it a point to speak with two players. That’s quite an investment.

Running back Darrynton Evans, a 5-foot-10, 203-pound running back out of Appalachian State was the first to meet with the Rams. While he was not on many scouting projections for an early draft selection, he had a huge NFL Scouting Combine performance which catapulted him into the face of many NFL draft scouts. He showed stunning speed at the 40-yard dash, which served to punctuate his entire Combine performance.

To be clear, the Rams want to become much faster on the offensive side of the ball.
I’m told Appalachian State RB and @footballCudas grad Darrynton Evans met formally with the Vikings, Rams and Colts at the #NFLCombine. He’s also spoken to the 49ers, Raiders, Ravens and Texans.

Evans is the second player from Appalachian State who has attracted the Rams’ interest. Evans adds plenty of production in both the running game and pass receptions. But the Rams may be giving Evans a look at the special team’s return specialist for 2020. He is incredibly versatile, super speedy, and would be a great addition to the team in multiple ways.

5-foot-9 223-pound running back Zack Moss, a Utah Utes standout, is on the draft board of many NFL teams. Whether the Rams may be seeking a more powerful running back to use in multiple ways, a faster guy to flash through the hole, or a solid back who can be incredibly dangerous out of the backfield as a receiver, Moss certainly brings a wide spectrum of “he can do that” abilities to the NFL.

He’s showed up on Rams mocks for the 2020 NFL Draft as a potential running back prospect long before the LA Rams met with him. For good reason, as Moss has all the skills the Rams need, particularly in light of the sudden opening at featured running back.

NFL.com projects him to start within his first two NFL seasons. He will be promoted quickly if he is added to the Rams roster. I had no problems projecting him as the Rams future starter with Gurley still on the roster. Without Gurley, Moss is an ideal candidate to take over the job.
As Utah’s Zack Moss readies for on-field stuff at the Combine later today, per source, he has met with 12 teams this week in Indy.
Rams, Packers, Chiefs, Bills, Chargers, Seahawks, Colts, Texans, Saints, Steelers, Cardinals, Lions.

The Ute was surprisingly adept and productive on offense. He has been compared to Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt, a forceful runner who breaks tackles routinely. The only drawback to Moss is the observation with too many carries he will tire. But the Rams have Henderson and Brown, who would happily add Moss to work among a committee. That seems to be exactly what the Rams are aiming at for the running back in 2020.

I think Moss would instantly become our premier back if they draft him. Hendy would be the change of pace guy. And I'd be happy btw, but I suspect the Rams are going to prioritize the modern balanced type backs who can threaten in the passing game.

Moss is a great pass catcher. And I agree that we aren't going to draft a HB who can't contribute in the passing game. A big part of McVay's scheme is not being able to guess what he's going to call based on his personnel and alignment.

He can sign the tender and then be traded for anything.

He is a physical back, the type I'd like to see us draft. Rams seem to prefer guys with more wiggle and speed and pass catching ability, but yeah I like him. And he's gonna be on the board late like some other excellent back prospects in this draft. This is why I keep saying we don't need to take a back early unless one they really like slides to them.

I don't see the Rams taking one of the top RBs. They probably need a power back to complement Henderson that is well rounded (good pass blocker). The early runs on Qbs, WRs and OTs could leave a very good option in round 3. I find a big back like AJ Dillion intriguing as a nice compliment to Henderson. He has size, balance, pass-catching ability and surprising speed.

Dillon is not good in the passing game. He doesn't have natural hands. I doubt he's the guy. I also don't agree we need a power HB. We just need an effective HB who can contribute on all three downs.

He is. But I don't see him as a plus matchup threat in that role. I suspect the Rams want someone with explosiveness if they're going to take him early on, which for us is 52 (i.e. guys like Helaire and Moss aren't going to be valuable enough for the Rams to take them where they would need to).

And I'm frustrated by that as I love play action with a power back but it is what it is.

I think our RBs who are effective in the running game are already on the roster in Henderson and Brown. I think both can fill the role of an every down back for us. To me Dillon brings us a downhill option that could potentially develop into a real powerhouse back. Also, he's being projected as a potential fullback as well...and with our new RB coach having a history of putting running games together with a fullback, he could give us a versatile weapon.

Moss won't need to be taken at #52. We should be able to get him in the third round.

Our Head Coach doesn't use a FB, and we don't need a powerhouse HB. Bringing Dillon in would tip our hand to some extent and make us more predictable. I don't see McVay going for that. If he wants a power HB, Moss is a better pick. But I'm far from sold that McVay cares about power. 5 yards is 5 yards, regardless whether you use power or elusiveness to get there. JMO.
