Rodgers had one year left too, they were both free agents after 2022. And yes Stafford took less sorry to burst your bubble he easily could have gotten as much as Watson.
Rodgers was forcing a trade, its a totally different sitch
Alas, when fandom takes over rational thought
Its flat earth talk when folks are gonna try and say Rogers was "just under contract"

I'll wait till all the numbers come out but, Stafford got paid a bunch of money. The bottom line, for now, is the Rams get a lower cap hit for at least this year and secured Stafford for the future.

You’re confusing societal value with NFL value.
Not one bit, I'm the guy who's been saying Stafford wouldnt sign for a penny under 40 mill for weeks when many were saying he'd "take on for the team" for significantly less.
But lets make him a hero for sacrificing a couple dollars. Please
But spare me the sacrificing for the greater good.

And that's all that matters
Let the rest of the league panic over their QB, we're covered!

And Stafford could’ve easily done the same.
Again… you’re confusing how far Rodgers would go to get paid with actual leverage.
Think the Rams wouldn’t have paid him $45 if he demanded it? You think they’d allow a QB holdout coming off SB win?
My dude.

Superbowl winning QB, whom we traded 2 first round picks, with the talent Stafford has, and coming in and winning a SUPER Bowl in year 1… he could have fleeced the rams and demanded he be the highest paid QB in the league by a margin. He could’ve pointed at Watsons 100% guarantee. He did none of that. He definitely took a team friendly deal.

He did take less.
Unless you thought the new deal wasn’t going to include this season.

43 mill per year
Market rate
Deserves every penny
I'll leave the fluff stuff for the Harlequin romance types that need to make it more than that
Not over the length.
30 million less than Rodgers over same time.

Significantly less than Watson and the deal came after Watson’s.

Market rate for QB's are what the most recent deals were signed for. Stafford took less than that market.

Josh Allen signed for 43 mill per year also (6 year 258) and Dak 40 mill per (4 for 160)
Yup, market value

Could he have put the fire to the Rams FO and squeezed them for a bit more - sure of course because QBs have the power these days. Especially one who just won the SB.

But come on, it’s not like he took way less here. He simply didn’t screw the Rams. But the dude got PAID…let’s pull back slightly on the ball washing.

Hey, we need a lot of us to do all that ball washing...

Dude's got balls like a tour bus...one person could go bust on sponges alone...LOL

We did have to give him an extension, and it wasn't going to be for 20 million a year like we paid him last year. So its a fair deal, he could have got more, but he's being paid very well. Just glad that he will be our guy for the near future.

I thought your reading comprehension was better than that I apologize. I'll try again for you. The QB market is what the LAST QB signed for. There have been other QB's signed since those 2 in case you missed them.
