The Cleveland Browns….This is less than Watson got, hard to believe they gave him that much with all his baggage.
I wasn't comparing QBs, just commenting that AR with two current MVPs was able to get what I believe is the highest annual salary for a QB.Oh, I'm gonna say it; With the game on the line in the 4th quarter, I would rather have matt out there, and the numbers confirm the eye test. He has more playoff/superbowl wins over the last season than rodgers has in the last 3 years, despite being the number 1 seed twice. Don't even get me started on come from behind wins. Aaron is more concerned with NOT throwing a pick.
It’ll seem like an even bigger discount when the cap goes up again

Cant compare to Rodgers or Watson, as they were essentially on the open market. Can any of you salary cap experts tell me the difference of Watson's contract numbers compared to Stafford's?
Rodgers was under contract.Cant compare to Rodgers or Watson, as they were essentially on the open market.
I will never use l___ g_ for that very reason…tb can kiss my hairy assisn't it strict rod policy to not allow blatant brady references that are not of the negative variety .
They were both under contract, but potentially available. Rodgers agreed to play in 21 but would retire if they didnt trade him. I'm sure you recall the story.. Watson had the no trade clause so was able to negotiate with potential suitorsRodgers was under contract.
Watson is the outlier because he's only 26.
Stafford had a very bit as much leverage as Rodgers. They were both under contract, but potentially available. Rodgers agreed to play in 21 but would retire if they didnt trade him. I'm sure you recall the story.. Watson had the no trade clause so was able to negotiate with potential suitors
Neither was a free agent per se, but both had all the leverage of a free agent and then some
Stafford is/was in a totally different spot.
Glad its all signed and can move on, but for the sake of comparisons, his extension is apples to oranges with Rodgers/Watson
Except the part where he probably could’ve pushed for more.I know everyone is all hunky dory that Staff is signed and sealed, as am I. But this "he took less to build" crap is just a bunch of malarkey and media fodder.
No he didnt.Stafford had a very bit as much leverage as Rodgers.
Expiring contract… SB winner who tore up the playoffs and is 3 years younger.
Rodgers had one year left too, they were both free agents after 2022. And yes Stafford took less sorry to burst your bubble he easily could have gotten as much as Watson. No he didnt.
Had a year left, could have been franchise tagged.
Rodgers line was in the sand that he was requesting a trade, unless....
You seriously cant debate this, just read any of the 100 or so pages of Aaron Rodgers saga. If not for the gazillion dollar contract, he would have had to be traded
Dude.. franchising means the entire value on that year’s cap.No he didnt.

Yeah, media fodder. Make the guy a hero for "settling" for 43 mill per year....Except the part where he probably could’ve pushed for more.
You’re confusing societal value with NFL value.Yeah, media fodder. Make the guy a hero for "settling" for 43 mill per year....
Gimme a break
