I would settle for McVay growing some balls and firing Morris. If they can fire everyone else for underperforming why not a DC that tanked the defense from #1 to #18? Getting a competent DC is more important than a 3rd round comp pick.

The only reason Raheems defense actually functioned as well as it did was that they had AD, Floyd, and most of all Miller and needed only to rush 4. When they lost Miller, it was then apparent how clueless Morris was. He continued to play his soft defense when the front had lost 1/3 of it's pass rush. He continued to play Lewis even when it was apparent that he wasn't the answer in the same way he continued to play Kendrick after he was repeatedly burned. He didn't change until he was forced to change.

Rapp will be gone this year and Lake will be looked at as the heir apparent. Lake looked slow because I'm not sure he was 100% and as a rookie players tend to play a step slow as they think their way through the play. Lake has better speed than both Rapp and Fuller. Hopefully, both Hill and Long will be gone opening the way for Rochell and Durant.

Instead of asking for permission to interview Denver's OC, they should be asking for permission to hire Evero as Morris' replacement. Evero should have been promoted to DC by McVay instead of hiring his buddy Raheem.

Who said zero? I gave him at least a 1% contribution. If it's ridiculous to believe a quasi-OC doesn't affect the offense much, then I'll agree. We disagree. Let's see if he brings in somebody who we'd expect to have a considerable say. Or will it be another coffee expert with limited experience in the NFL?

You mean we have another Jeff Fisher ? Wish he was as lucky as Mcvay.

Friendship can hurt a head coach. If he keeps Morris around it will fall into that category I'm afraid. That will mean he gets an offseason to overhaul shit on the back end where his major problems were, and to get things back on track. It would lead to another season of subpar defense I am afraid, but maybe not.

Lake won't be viewed as any sort of answer. The losing smashed all the bullshit smoke and mirrors in their perceptions about our secondary. I guarantee you that. It is very clear where we are deficient. Which is both safety positions and multiple corner spots. Ramsey is no longer a shutdown corner. Hill is not a CB2. We do have a CB2 and his name is Durant, and a CB3 who can slot it up in Kendrick, and hopefully those things are sorted in camp with another young corner for the mix.

But they're gonna need to add one safety and that's if Fuller returns. If he's not gonna return we probably need two, as Scott does not handle playing over the top well so having him back there is a tell of sorts where you know he's the run fit post-snap no matter what you show. And if he's the deep responsibility it's time to take a shot.

Some of our problems back there were personnel for sure, meaning they will address the secondary. If you can't find good edges by God you'd better make sure you can cover. This is where we're at.

Unless he gets a HC gig (unlikely), Morris isn’t going anywhere.
The idea McVay kicks him to the curb is Wishful thinking by some.

I like that. And I reaaallllly don't want to lose Henderson.
It is going to be interesting how this all plays out. This weekend is going to help clear a few paths on HC jobs being final.

It use to be that teams wouldn’t wait, especially if there was a hit coach & or a team went to the Superbowl.

It'll be VERY interesting. Should see some clarity hopefully and not too many getting poached from us.

They could also promote Henderson to DC
Henderson deserves it, no doubt about it. Wonder how well he knows the secondary though. May need to go the co-coordinator route or have someone real good upstairs supporting him if they promote him.

Sort of crazy how times have changed.Usually teams have there Head Coach’s & during the Senior Bowl most of the assistant coaches have been signed. Has there even been a hiring ? I wonder what Stan(The Rams) are paying there assistant coaches compared to other NFL teams ?
Raheem Morris getting a HC job or not ? I’ve said from the beginning that Sean Mcvay will give Morris the title of Assistant HC & promoting a new DC.
Still going to stand by that thought for now.

Honestly I don’t see anyway Raheem Morris gets the HC job for the Colts. This video & list pretty much solidify’s any hope I had that he would get the job. Even a minority for that matter, weather it is right or not.As the playoffs move a long makes it tough though to see how long the colts will wait?

Also Evero would be a good choice for The Rams to promote as DC as stated above of Morris being assistant HC.

Morris is ok as a DC, but his scheme is a crap fest against the whiners. Correct me if I'm wrong but the whiners are patient and willing to take 18 play drives with the longest play being 6 yards to score. Even if the Rams get a good play for a loss on first down or a penalty, the whiners get 2nd and 15 or 2nd and 12 and the Ram's defense gives up an easy 6-7 yards by playing the soft shell zone. It makes the 3rd down conversion "doable" and too often they convert. The other killer is hitting dweebo or CMC in the backfield and they still gain 6-7 yards because they tackle isn't made on the spot.

That soft zone needs to go if the Rams make a good play on first down.

I think Morris gets a bad rap, but I also dont see him as irreplaceable. I wouldnt be upset with getting a 3rd round pick, however I dont think he has any chance of getting a HC job this year
