So yeah, he showed a spark with his legs, and I would love to see that integrated in the Rams gameplan, healthy Goff or not. But he also was the reason they trailed in the first place so I even hesitate in saying that "he didnt lose the game for the Rams"

I don't think Mr. Dickerson would agree with you.

McVay said in his press conference that if Goff's healthy he's playing.

I'm sure everyone already knows who the starter is and McVay threatened players with death if they reveal it to the media. I can just imagine all the "insiders" texting other Ram players incessantly to get the scoop.

What I guess we're now debating on here is whether Goff will be healthy which I think most of us wonder how he could be

I would guess that if Goff isn’t at least 85-90% healed he’d probably not start, possibly active.

Of course if he is this is a non issue debate

I’ll say this...

Goff can’t possibly be better than 75% by Saturday.

If Rams go to exclusively shotgun then our running game is gone and we are toast.

Last, but definitely not least, if Goff starts there will be multiple Ram turnovers simply due to the thumb injury. Another kiss of death.

By a process of elimination McVay needs to start the kid in THIS game.

It depends on which Goff we will get. The one that has some head scratching turnovers? Or the one that responds from a bad game with a good one?

Since we won't know until it happens I would say Goff gives us the better option. Wolford was good between the 20's. Showed some toughness picking up much needed first downs. Owned the time of possession.

But when you get down in that redzone it gets a lot tougher. Defenses tighten up. Field goals ain't gonna cut it in the playoffs. His inexperience down there is the biggest problem. With more time he might get better. But we don't have more time. Its do or die. Our best chance is with Goff and cross our fingers he doesn't have any brain farts with the ball.

Yeah well Dickerson thought Sean Mannion should be the QB too, so there's that. They could have played 10 more quarters and the Cardinals werent going to score again.
Wolf took no part in getting the team the lead. Even after the safety, the Rams needing only a FG to take the lead, they had the ball twice and couldnt even make a 1st down. Fortunately Streveler threw the TD pass to Hill and the Rams never looked back

I'll say this and I pretty sure most of us have noticed it.

Goff and McVay have a different relationship now...and it started last year. Goff is now "seasoned"...and he doesn't need a babysitter. I don't know...but that is where I *think* we have a problem.

Goff still has growing to do...but...I believe he wants "the harness" off where he can grow into his "own man" at qb. The question is...does McVay want to give him that liberty?

We've seen more conversations between Goff and McVay on the sidelines...but Goff isn't a confrontational guy...so it's not easy to know the context. What you can see "sometimes", is a frustrated Goff.

So...what it all about???

This I think I do know...YOU START GOFF SATURDAY, because he's your best chance to win. Wolf is right there if he needs to come in.

I hate to tell you Deter but I'll trust Mr. Dickerson knowledge of football over yours. Well actually I don't hate telling you.

Just listened to the podcast, good takes on the Defense

JR is definitely wanting Wolf pretty much due to his mobility I guess, to me the rest is ”maybe, maybe not“ conjecture

My burning question to those banging hard on the Wolf table is, I mean yeah yeah yeah he threw a few deep balls (YPA was under 7 yards) against the very same opponent our offense ( yes even this years offense) has been having their way with in regards to AZ

Did anyone here see that Sunday? I would not be too proud of the offense performance by any stretch but to each their own

Heading in to Seattle you don’t think they are hoping and praying to feast on a young QB making his 2nd start?

Reading through the posts after Sunday's win, one thing is becoming clear to me, we may have 2 capable QB on the roster - please understand, I'm not saying they are equally capable since Wolford has only 1 game under his belt. Arguing who should start on Sunday makes for a lot of angry posts, and I don't want to pile on to that. I think we don't have the necessary information to decide who should start against the Seahawks. We can certainly try to push for one guy or the other, but we don't know the most important thing: how is Goff's thumb. I rallied behind Wolford against the Cards because he was really our only option, and I am a Rams fan in the end. I was impressed with his performance, in a high pressure situation, and how he bounced back from adversity. I've also seen many more impressive performances from Goff. I will trust McVay to start the best guys to help us get a win, and root for whoever is on the field.

This becomes an issue of people giving the QB too much credit/blame for the offense IMO.

I'm not proud of the offense - I came away disappointed in Akers, VJ, Everett and with the false starts.

But I came away impressed with Wolford - with the caveat being he was bad early on. He started 1-6 for 3 yards and an INT. But after that?

21/32 228 yards (7 YPA), 56 yards rushing

I keep seeing people saying we always have our way with Arizona, which is true, but we also had our way with Seattle earlier in the season and played an even worse Jets team where the QB didn't perform this well.

That is what makes me excited about Wolford right now. He's a big downgrade from the Goff we want, but he's an upgrade over the Goff we've had the past few weeks.

Of course I want Jared in there but I'm worried about his thumb, I can't possibly see him being ready to play less than two weeks after surgery. I don't want him pushing himself and then messing up his thumb more. I happy to start Wolford and see if he can get us to the next round, then maybe see if Goff is ready

You can still run the ball and be physical doing it out of the gun. The question is will the oline be up to the task or not.

Way to contradict yourself on the QB thing

Comparing having their way with the Cardinals Defense to having their way with the Seahawks Defense, now that’s just silly, btw I tip my cap to the Jets, they played a helluva game followed it up vs another playoff team victory over

This whole upgrade over the past few weeks over Goff...is based on a very mediocre Performance vs our “lets pad our O stats patsy team” the past 4 years, I hate to break this to you but the simple fact of the matter is that was the Rams very worst offensive output vs the Cardinals under McVay, that’s indisputable
