McVay just wants a QB that doesnt give up on so many plays and has the desire and creativity to do some things outside the normal flow of the game. Add to that, the recent execution problems on top of everything.

So McVay has been frustrated and of course Goff realizes that.

Unrest in the Valley? Certainly.

They all seem like gentlemen to me though. Im sure it will sort itself out without Silver butting in on live TV.

Are you kidding me? We didn't keep Bortles on the roster this year. You're talking as if we'll get rid of Goff to start Bryce Perkins. If they thought Bryce Perkins was that sort of option, they wouldn't have signed a veteran who couldn't stick on a NFL roster this year to play over Perkins. Perkins has spent the entire season on the practice squad. He can run the same offense that Wolford did.

It's a ridiculous opinion. You can believe Perkins has the potential to be a starter for us in the future. That's your prerogative. But don't try to sell me the bullshit that we can dump Goff because Perkins can start for us next year when McVay trusts the guy LESS than Blake freaking Bortles.

If you're trying to argue that McVay is going to potentially start Bryce Perkins next year running some gimmicky scheme that is nothing like our current offense because Perkins can't execute the current offense, I'm going to call bull. It's a silly claim. This is the NFL, not college football.

Please read for comprehension so you'll stop repeating the same errors.

I said that a replacement for Goff MAY already be on the roster and I included Wolford. I did not say that a replacement for Goff WAS already on the roster.

I gave an opinion on the type of offense I thought Perkins would thrive in. I did not say that McVay would make this change.

Finally, Wolford (who also happens to be a cheaper on the cap) replaced Bortles. Not Perkins. And again, any coach in a playoff run with the option of choosing a rookie undrafted free agent who hasn't even taken a pre-season snap vs. an experienced veteran QB who already knows much (if not all) of the offense is going to go with the veteran. Wouldn't you? Or would you stick a rookie from your practice squad out there instead?

They seemed pretty happy together after the win on Saturday .. media need to talk about stuff ..
Not only the media, lol. I get it though and this is a discussion board. There's a segment of the fan base who have been wanting Goff gone for over a year now, so when the media farts out a story like this...those fans get excited.

My only concern as a fan is McV does whatever it takes to get that next playoff win. I think he's going with Wolford for the same reasons he did vs Seattle. Goff is injured and limited and these are the biggest games of the year.

That’s what we all want in a coach tho and I’m sure you realize I’m on the Goff side of the debate by now but I think everyone would agree McVay>Goff in terms of franchise importance and if McVay thinks Goff doesn’t give us the best chance to win any given Sunday ....I agree with him because who the fuck am I ?

You were just speculating that Perkins could be a Goff replacement next year. I would absolutely use a veteran over a rookie UDFA as a backup, but I'm not the one trying to treat the rookie UDFA as if he'll be a viable starting option next year. Earlier, you claimed that you expect the Rams to trade Goff this offseason. I asked you who will replace him. You said Wolford or possibly Perkins. You then speculated that they think Perkins is something special. I pressed you on that because it doesn't seem remotely likely to me that Wolford or Perkins is our starting QB next year.

It ain't my reading comprehension that is the issue. You either think Goff is a much worse QB than he actually is or you think Wolford or Perkins is a much, much better QB than I do. Your perspective here sounds ridiculous. It sounds like somebody who is frustrated with Goff and is grasping at straws. You're "reading" McVay's body language. You're speculating that we're going to dump Goff for Wolford or Perkins. I don't think it's believable.

And McVay totally isn't the sort of coach who would bench a player who isn't performing if he thought the backup is better. He would wait for an injury and use that as an excuse because he's too cowardly to pull the trigger. Totes! :ROFLMAO:

Jamil Demby and Brian Allen said hello.

idk last game he played 2 plays and the entire forum turned toxic with statements of "we cant win with Goff" so you tell me

Honestly, I felt that way for most of the game. It's not because I thought or think Goff is a bad QB. It's because he was struggling to throw the ball accurately with his compromised grip. Throws he normally makes in his sleep were sailing on him. But he pushed through it, delivered, and proved me wrong.

Right and that’s a fine opinion in relation to his injury but I think you know the ones I’m talking about. It was the same people who thought/think Wolford is better and are so blinded by Goff hate they act like wolf was Dan Marino. That’s what annoyed me.

Jamil Demby and Brian Allen said hello.

You sure you want to go there? Jamil Demby got benched after one start. And while Brian Allen is somewhat valid, he was a first-time starter and given half a season to show his worth before he got injured. I expect he would have been benched eventually, injury or not. Malcolm Brown didn't last long as a starter this year. So yeah, I have zero doubt that McVay would bench Goff if he felt Wolford was a better option, injury or no injury.

Read Post #102 in this thread where I stated:

But, no one said that Perkins is ready right now. And no one really said he was a potential starter next year. Sure, it's possible. But, probably not very likely as I doubt he'd be given a fair shot.

How do you read that and keep misinterpreting what I'm saying?

And when you asked about a replacement I said that player MAY already be on the roster.
MAY. MAY. MAY. For goodness sakes.

Finally, this is not an either or situation where your limit the opinion. And my comments have nothing to do with who is better than whom? That's another misleading statement. They have more to do with the type of QB I believe that McVay would prefer. And if a coach believes that he can win with a different QB (type) that he prefers while getting rid of a underperforming QB on a HUGE contract, it would makes all the sense in the world.
