You were just speculating that Perkins could be a Goff replacement next year. I would absolutely use a veteran over a rookie UDFA as a backup, but I'm not the one trying to treat the rookie UDFA as if he'll be a viable starting option next year. Earlier, you claimed that you expect the Rams to trade Goff this offseason. I asked you who will replace him. You said Wolford or possibly Perkins. You then speculated that they think Perkins is something special. I pressed you on that because it doesn't seem remotely likely to me that Wolford or Perkins is our starting QB next year.
It ain't my reading comprehension that is the issue. You either think Goff is a much worse QB than he actually is or you think Wolford or Perkins is a much, much better QB than I do. Your perspective here sounds ridiculous. It sounds like somebody who is frustrated with Goff and is grasping at straws. You're "reading" McVay's body language. You're speculating that we're going to dump Goff for Wolford or Perkins. I don't think it's believable.
Read Post #102 in this thread where I stated:
But, no one said that Perkins is ready right now. And no one really said he was a potential starter next year. Sure, it's possible. But, probably not very likely as I doubt he'd be given a fair shot.
How do you read that and keep misinterpreting what I'm saying?
And when you asked about a replacement I said that player
MAY already be on the roster.
MAY. MAY. MAY. For goodness sakes.
Finally, this is not an either or situation where your limit the opinion. And my comments have nothing to do with who is better than whom? That's another misleading statement. They have more to do with
the type of QB I believe that McVay would prefer. And if a coach believes that he can win with a different QB (type) that he prefers while getting rid of a underperforming QB on a HUGE contract, it would makes all the sense in the world.
