I think I'd be more concerned if you did agree with my point of view. Dickerson's take was embarrassing, blaming a 20-9 loss on the INT Goff threw. I dont think that the defense was "deflated" from that moment like 29 says, I think they're much stronger mentally than that. So you keep on keepin on
Agreed that blaming it on that INT is ridiculous. It was one play. But Goff did play like shit in that game. Main problem was the OL and specifically Blythe but it was one of Goff's worst games.

We're gonna need better play this weekend from the line and from him and I think we will get it. And those fucks will get exposed as the shitter defense they've been all season.

The INT was terrible and inexcusable for a seasoned guy. But Dickerson told Cowerd that the defense was deflated because of that INT and thats why they lost. Yeah, like Aaron Donald is even thinking about that when he lines up.
I dont need to get in to the semantics of that game, surely wasnt Goff's best. Only scored 9 points, had a bad INT. But he did also convert 9 3rd downs, didnt have any 3- outs in 2nd half, only punted 1 time in 2 half. So they moved the ball up and down the field, just couldnt convert.

Just saw an interesting article - no idea if this has anything to do with Goff's abilities, but McVay definitely opened up the play book with Wolford. It could just be that he finally decided to go for the win, instead of playing safe, or maybe it's the adjustment I've been hoping for after teams started sitting on our short routes - no idea, but interesting to see the analysis:

That is interesting. Kind of matches up with what I saw with my very own eyes.

That game was one of the most aggravating re-watches I've ever endured. Simply because it was there to be won. It wasn't like say the Miami game where we just got trucked. The Rams basically didn't capitalize for 60 minutes. And it wasn't just the offense btw. Williams catching that gift of an INT early in the game probably changes everything.

But we're gonna get better OL play this time around as we have Whit back. We're gonna get good RB play this time around with Akers. So even though our wideouts aren't what they used to be, Seattle should struggle containing them. And I expect Seattle to score 14-24 points somewhere in there because their offense is so good. But overall man I think the Rams know they are the better team they just gotta execute.

I would say that Jared will start. McVay says that he is not limited in what they have asked him to do in practices and there was no swelling in his hand after strong workload from the previous practice. With Whit back and a running game, I predict Jared will have a good game at Shit-Link stadium...

If healthy enough I want Goff to start and do well so we can put the Wolford vs Goff debate to rest. Nothing against Wolford cuz I like the dude and we found out he can help us win a game if need be but Goff is the QB1 and the guy we paid so I'm really hoping he gets back on track. Either way im glad we have both guys.

Agreed. Goff's thumb will decide who starts. But Whit coming back is HUGE for the running game, and also for Goff. Akers might go for 150 yards, or Goff might get much better protection. All I know is the QB gets way too much blame and/or credit most of the time. One thing I have been wondering about though, is why did the offense start throwing downfield all of a sudden? Was that because of McVay or Wolford or Goff? Because that made a big difference in this armchair QB's opinion. The Rams need to keep throwing downfield, something that's been lacking all season. We'll find out Saturday if McVay can duplicate that success and which QB can do it. But if the Hags stack the box, and the Rams can't run the ball or throw downfield, they are most likely fucked.

Can't wait for Saturday. The Rams have nothing to lose. Go Rams!

I've heard it said and I agree that Whit is Goff's security blanket. We are a running team with two WR's who are crazy good with YAC. When our defense is "on" and our offense is clicking, few tems can beat us.

I think it's more proper to say McVay opened the playbook to plays that fit Woldford.

Hmmm, so longer passes are only fit for Wolford? I certainly hope not....if Goff starts, I hope to see the same deep shots that Wolford took. Though you're right there were some plays that were meant for Wolford. The article I shared was more emphasizing the longer passing game though

The box was so clearly stacked that Wolford saw a number of open shots. Also, Wolford's better mobility allowed him to buy time early and his runs made them back off of the pressure which allowed the OL to give him a little more time.

If Wolford was as accurate as Goff... that game woulda been a blowout., but I guess we trade accuracy with mobility with Wolford.

Hope Goff's a go. On a good day with the run game working, Goff can be an absolute assassin. I hope he's about to go on a four game tear...

I read where both Wolf and Esiason commented that the Cards were cheating up to jump our short passing game of late. Wolf simply took advantage and punished them for it.

Why couldn’t Goff do the same?

I’d have to inquire is it your opinion the Cards were playing Wolf exactly how they play Goff?

I’m curious if the Cardinals just didn’t “Rope-a-Dope“ themselves, thinking after that first pick that perhaps they were in for some easy pickings and ending up paying for it on a couple of plays.

Most opponents would much rather give up the short pass to Goff, perhaps he’s gotten a little too all that happy to just take what the Defense gives.

Either way I’m hoping he’s taken this “shot across the bow” the right way, I would expect to see him a little riled up Saturday

Thats definitely part of it. Despite the Rams shorter passing attack we still face a good amount of deep coverages and zones from the opposing defense.

Oh, please tell me what Goff has done for the Rams, lately. You seem to come off like some sort of Goff apologist.
Lately? He didn't play last week, so it wasn't him who threw 1 int.

You
Goff might throw a pick. If our o-line is bad in pass pro again, he might fumble too.
Of course that's true for Wolford.
Infact, Wolford took more big hits to his head last week than Brandin Cooks did in his last season here. Wolf played ok and some passes were really nice. His speed really caught Zona by surprise, as well as the shots deep.
Chances are none of that catches them by surprise this week.

If he's healthy, Goffs our best QB and gives us our best chance to win. He's an NFC Champion QB. Go remind yourself how Goff won us that game with his great big cajones late.

I believe in both of our QBs and being "an apologist" is a weird statement.
Are you some sort of "O-line apologist"? I've never once heard anyone called that but I've seen plenty of people here who that might apply to.

Perhaps defenses have not been looking to jump routes when Goff is at QB.

I would not just assume the Cardinals were playing the same defense against Wolford as they would against Goff.

Jeezus!
Goff missed L.A.'s playoff-clinching Week 17 victory over the Cardinals, and finished the 2020 campaign with 3,952 yards, 20 TD and 13 INT.
Really? That was his season, no words of sympathy that's fucking pathetic! We all live in a times where everyone and everything is examined and critical. Well I do my part for 8 hours when I clock in. Goff this was embarrassing. You better show up Saturday. Yes we're human it's just a game blah blah blah. Show up Goff!
