Agreed that blaming it on that INT is ridiculous. It was one play. But Goff did play like shit in that game. Main problem was the OL and specifically Blythe but it was one of Goff's worst games.I think I'd be more concerned if you did agree with my point of view. Dickerson's take was embarrassing, blaming a 20-9 loss on the INT Goff threw. I dont think that the defense was "deflated" from that moment like 29 says, I think they're much stronger mentally than that. So you keep on keepin on
The INT was terrible and inexcusable for a seasoned guy. But Dickerson told Cowerd that the defense was deflated because of that INT and thats why they lost. Yeah, like Aaron Donald is even thinking about that when he lines up.Agreed that blaming it on that INT is ridiculous. It was one play. But Goff did play like shit in that game. We're gonna need better play this weekend from the line and from him and I think we will get it. And those fucks will get exposed as the shitter defense they've been all season.
That is interesting. Kind of matches up with what I saw with my very own eyes.Just saw an interesting article - no idea if this has anything to do with Goff's abilities, but McVay definitely opened up the play book with Wolford. It could just be that he finally decided to go for the win, instead of playing safe, or maybe it's the adjustment I've been hoping for after teams started sitting on our short routes - no idea, but interesting to see the analysis:

John Wolford's passing chart shows what Rams' offense has been missing
John Wolford was aggressive throwing downfield, a welcomed sight for the Rams offensively.theramswire.usatoday.com
That game was one of the most aggravating re-watches I've ever endured. Simply because it was there to be won. It wasn't like say the Miami game where we just got trucked. The Rams basically didn't capitalize for 60 minutes. And it wasn't just the offense btw. Williams catching that gift of an INT early in the game probably changes everything. The INT was terrible and inexcusable for a seasoned guy. But Dickerson told Cowerd that the defense was deflated because of that INT and thats why they lost. Yeah, like Aaron Donald is even thinking about that when he lines up.
I dont need to get in to the semantics of that game, surely wasnt Goff's best. Only scored 9 points, had a bad INT. But he did also convert 9 3rd downs, didnt have any 3- outs in 2nd half, only punted 1 time in 2 half. So they moved the ball up and down the field, just couldnt convert.
I would say that Jared will start. McVay says that he is not limited in what they have asked him to do in practices and there was no swelling in his hand after strong workload from the previous practice. With Whit back and a running game, I predict Jared will have a good game at Shit-Link stadium...
I've heard it said and I agree that Whit is Goff's security blanket. We are a running team with two WR's who are crazy good with YAC. When our defense is "on" and our offense is clicking, few tems can beat us.Agreed. Goff's thumb will decide who starts. But Whit coming back is HUGE for the running game, and also for Goff. Akers might go for 150 yards, or Goff might get much better protection. All I know is the QB gets way too much blame and/or credit most of the time. One thing I have been wondering about though, is why did the offense start throwing downfield all of a sudden? Was that because of McVay or Wolford or Goff? Because that made a big difference in this armchair QB's opinion. The Rams need to keep throwing downfield, something that's been lacking all season. We'll find out Saturday if McVay can duplicate that success and which QB can do it. But if the Hags stack the box, and the Rams can't run the ball or throw downfield, they are most likely fucked.
Can't wait for Saturday. The Rams have nothing to lose. Go Rams!
I think it's more proper to say McVay opened the playbook to plays that fit Woldford.Just saw an interesting article - no idea if this has anything to do with Goff's abilities, but McVay definitely opened up the play book with Wolford. I read where both Wolf and Esiason commented that the Cards were cheating up to jump our short passing game of late. Wolf simply took advantage and punished them for it.
Why couldn’t Goff do the same?
I’d have to inquire is it your opinion the Cards were playing Wolf exactly how they play Goff?
I’m curious if the Cardinals just didn’t “Rope-a-Dope“ themselves, thinking after that first pick that perhaps they were in for some easy pickings and ending up paying for it on a couple of plays.
Most opponents would much rather give up the short pass to Goff, perhaps he’s gotten a little too all that happy to just take what the Defense gives.
Either way I’m hoping he’s taken this “shot across the bow” the right way, I would expect to see him a little riled up Saturday
Lately? He didn't play last week, so it wasn't him who threw 1 int.Oh, please tell me what Goff has done for the Rams, lately. You seem to come off like some sort of Goff apologist.
