Honestly not being a DD, just look at the game day threads and the threads about individual players. There's too much negativity and too much animosity between fellow fans. Maybe it's part of the larger picture but there used to be a time we could all talk things out and in the end agree to disagree but there's name calling and anger all over the place. I'm far from innocent in a lot of this hell there are people even putting a lot of others on ignore these days myself included. No matter what happens this weekend or if we're fortunate to go forward what happens the weekend after there will be threads and discussions and arguments this off season about the last few weeks of it unfortunately. Ok doom and gloom over time to have some dinner!
If Wolford starts and wins, great. If he starts and loses, gonna be a long off season.
If Goff starts and wins, great. But he'll have to win the next week or it's a long off season.
If Goff starts and loses, it's gonna be a long off season.
All things being equal (long off season), I want to see Goff playing Sunday.
If Goff is anywhere near 100% he will start. The comfort zone is that they go into a game with a proven QB behind Jared. Wolford is good enough to win this game if given support and not turning the ball over. I actually feel better about this game simply because should Jared's thumb not hold up Wolford is a very capable backup...he's no longer a huge question mark. He's signed through next year and will definitely attract attention as a UDFA in 2022.
This is Goff's team so he starts if he can.
Good post. We're gonna need some offensive production to win. We're gonna need a very good defensive showing to win.
What makes you think that? I would think it would be painful/tough to grip without your thumb being involved. Thumb is important.
Is it any more painful than dislocating and breaking your thumb, putting it back in the socket and playing the rest of the game? He injured his thumb with 0:44 left in the third. If you look at the numbers (6 of 14 for 74 yards) you might think the thumb affected his throws. All of the 6 completions were right on the receivers. 3 of the 8 incompletions were: a throwaway out of bounds, ball batted by DL and screen pass thrown into the ground because Brown had two or three guys near him. 3 of the other 5 were right on the receivers, but broken up by a DB twice (one clearly DPI) and a LB from behind when Everett had the ball in his gut. The fourth was a drop by Brown on a low pass but definitely catchable and the 5th, the only bad throw, was one past Woods but a LB could have tipped it. I didn't see an end zone replay. For the sake of discussion let's just call that one inaccurate. So, I honestly don't think the thumb was a big deal. Two screws and 12 days later, who knows but he might be fine. We'll see.
