For sure. Mechanics is one thing and mental processing is another. Then you have mental makeup which some will argue means nothing. I think it does. Most guys are competitive and some guys are uber competitive. Martz believed this was most important at QB. I tend to agree with him.

That's semantics. We can only view Stafford on what he does with McVay. Our offense was stale and if bringing Stafford in is causing McVay to change things for the better, then it's a benefit to the team.
His film in 2019 had a ton of him throwing off his back foot. He worked on that I presume prior to the 2020 season. As far as I know he's with House and his group every offseason.
2020 I've watched a lot more of his film than I did in 2019 and I feel like his footwork and everything really went out the window with pressures. If I had to guess what he'll be working on this offseason: getting through reads and seeing things more consistently while performing pocket movement.
Maybe but he should never have thrown that pass and everyone on this board would have gone parden the expression "Ape Shit" if Goff had thrown that pass at that point in the game.

Almost all of the pressures that got to Goff was from up the middle. He was absolutely terrible at avoiding that pressure.

I probably should have stated that it is possible that Stafford can play after back surgery just that I am scared to death that one bad hit and he is done. Seen it happen too many times in sports. I just feel it is too big a risk to give up firsts for.
Again reiterating what I have said before - I would have been okay with the trade if we gave up less for Stafford than two firsts.
But that's just me and how I feel.
I am hoping everything plays out like a lot of you are stating and we are huge contenders for a SB next year and that our offense goes back to 2018 offense.
It is possible - I have also stated that Goff and Stafford are a lot alike in their play just a few differences that hopefully Staffords benefits will greatly outweigh Goffs benefits.

Stafford might have even played again in 19 if it wasnt such a lost season. While broken bones in ones back is no picnic, it also isnt an injury that would be a recurring type. My point was that I dont think Stafford suffered from poor running games as much as they consistently ran high volume passing attacks. "Detroit favored a a high volume pass offense because of Stafford. Kind of like Miami back in the day with Marino, the team never focused on the run because they exploited (for a lack of a better term) the QB skills and were too reliant on that alone."
So when viewing his numbers, it also stands to reason that teams were able to scheme against him easier because the run wasnt going to be a threat. Now he's playing for a coach who will mix it up? I seriously cant see less than 500 points next year

My big disappointment about this is the fact that I, and I assume along with others, hoped that Goff would be like Brady, Ryan, Brees, etc... where at least he stays a long time and becomes a very good QB and you just continue to build/ rebuild around him... He would provide stability and a face of the franchise.
Now I see it as if they are lucky enough to win a SB with Stafford, they will be like the Eagles and its a one time thing abd then it all falls apart.
I guess we have to trust McVay and Snead to not let that happen, but once you start looking for a QB, its not easy to find that guy.... and you can't keep trading for an established star... Those opportunities don't happen often.
