Detroit took on the entire contract not a portion including the guarantees that will provide extra flexibility hence the extra 1st and with that they had better offers and also Stafford went to management and said he wanted to at in LA with Mcvay and the lions wanted to do right by him.
Stafford is a top 5 arm talent in the league, hands down. Now he’s going to be paired with this McVay and this offense? I promise you the buttholes of the coaches and GMs of other NFC contenders are tighter than they were 6 hours ago.
Nah I'm with you man. I like stafford over Goff but I don't like the deal right now. Disappointment is fair. But people cursing the Rams and talking about wanting Mcvay, a coach with one of the highest win percentages in league history through 4 years, to be fired is ridiculous.
I think McVay dialed it down because the line couldn't block, play action didn't work, and we had no deep threats.

I don't see that happening, my friend. I was in the middle of drafting one up when this trade happened, and I deleted it. Don't know if I'm going to get past this decision. Guess we'll see.
Only way it happens is if the Rams restructure Stafford's deal. And the only way that happens is if the Rams give Stafford guaranteed money to restructure his deal.

For Rams, Sounds like Stafford will be 20M against cap in 2021, and Goff will be a 22M dead-$ hit in 2021?
Definitely sounds like Rams got some cap relief by unloading Goff’s huge contract, but I haven’t seen a good analysis yet of how much and when.

Fact is, Goff is the physicly weakest QB in the league. he hasn't progressed much in 4 years. He showed he's a liability when pressured. Way too many turnovers.. I can see why they wanted to make a change.
Things will settle down.
