Maybe he can convince Golliday to follow him to LA. Instant deep threat and fights for the ball better than Reynolds ever did.
I have Sunday Ticket and have watched a number of Lions games and I absolutely love Kenny Golliday. He's tremendous in his ability to high point the ball between multiple defenders. Best WR in the NFL that nobody's heard of IMO.

I think it depends what the over all plan is.
Is it a year of taking FA losses and waiting for cap relief?
We are in win now mode with an aging QB, who may play until he's 40 or who may get injured and not play that many more years...*shrugs. Gotta win now

Oh just one more thing. May the Rams never win another division or championship or Super Bowl for the rest of their days. May McVay get a beer belly and a bald spot, and may Goff and the Lions win the Super Bowl in Sofi while McVay and Snead have to watch

Bye

I get it, but that's harsh...

The only way I can get behind this trade is if we use the cap room to fortify the offensive line and retain Floyd. We better do that, or else Stafford - who has an injury history - might not make it through the year. If we can do that, I think we are in a good position, at least for the short term, and would be in a very good spot to compete for a super bowl. I really, really hope that is the plan. But knowing Snead and McVay, it won't be, and the o-line will continue to be neglected.

What cap room?

It is crazy to me how the Rams cannot keep a long term QB.
The position has generally been a circus forever.....
Got Everett to develop happy feet.
Dumped Warner.
Bulger imploded.
Drafted a lemon in Bradford.
Now Goff traded.
Rewind 18 months and there is no way the Goff isn’t breaking every Rams career passing records.
This surely needs to signal a long time commitment to McVay as the HC.
Has to or we are likely headed back to football hell.
McVay inherited Goff so who knows his thoughts on his from day one as HC.

So far, this is the only post that helps make any sense of this deal.

It’s not just 2 1sts and a 3rd and Goff for Stafford.

Its for Stafford AND 43MILLION in extra cap space.

What if Rams can now afford some premium FA to beef up the O-line, and add a deep threat, and keep JJ or Fowler?

If so, the Rams would be a team to be reckoned with for 2021 and beyond.

Yes, at first glance the trade looks awful. But let’s see what the Rams can add in FA as a result of this deal.

Is stafford playing for free? Doesn't his salary count?

If the rams dont get to the championship game at least in 2021. This trade is a failure.
If Stafford misses more than 1 game in 4 years. This trade is a failure.
If we dont finish above 500 in each of the next 4 seasons. This trade is a failure.
If we lose to the fucking cardinals even once. This trade is a failure.
If the offense isnt back to 2017/2018 form this trade is a failure.
If the rams for the 3rd season in a row neglect the oline. This trade is a failure.
If goff somehow someway leads the lions to the playoffs and we miss it. This trade is a failure.
Obviously I think the trade was a failure of epic proportions but we'll see. But I lost all faith in mcsnead.

Yes. Of course. Because Goff was the only reason we accomplished those things. Everything around him was a dumpster fire.

I get it, but that's harsh...

True lol. If I do stop rooting for this team, I'm not going to root against them or hope for misery. I like y'all and don't want you to suffer. But man, this trade is a kick in the nuts. I thought the worst thing this offseason could bring was the Gators keep their moron of a DC. But nope, it got much, much worse.

Look at the vision.

Goff was not a guy to throw unless they were open then.

Not about to become open.

This may be the fastest I have gone through the five stages of grief.

It's an entirely different level of quarterbacking my dude. Always go by the film and never by W/L stats. Hes an absolute stud.

And trust me there was about a minute of grief for me too, because I wanted Watson LOL.

But once I realized we have Stafford at QB now I got immediately happy.

You forgot how they let Ferragamo head to Canada because they wouldnt pay him

But imo McVay needs to retool the offense for this to work. I truly doubt Stafford can run McVay's short pass, dink and dunk offense any better than Goff. And even if Akers breaks out it's still basically a medium ceiling offense.
FarNorth, you are forgetting that this dink and dunk garbage is NOT Coach Mac's offense. It was in fact a feeble attempt to cover up Jared Goff's inefficiencies and failure to develop as a viable NFL quality QB.
Watch what Coach rolls out next year for a legit QB like Matt Stafford.
I think you're gonna like it a lot.

We needed to add a 1st rder in order to dump Goff & his contract. Honestly think you all are being crazy. Demoff is a cap master. NFL is a soft cap
He just keeps kicking the can down the road.
