Factoring in health and durability, would you rate JJ Watt ahead of Michael Brockers at this point in their careers?
Hard to tell without knowing what Watt will demand for salary but at this point I don't see much of a need to go for Watt. He has been great he was good on a really bad defense but the last few years he's had a lot of injuries. Great guy and has been great on the field just not sure I'd roll the dice he's healthy for a full 16 at this point. Would rather spend our resources elsewhere but I also wouldn't be upset if we went for him. Kind of sitting on the fence but there are so many unknowns most of all where he wants to go.Factoring in health and durability, would you rate JJ Watt ahead of Michael Brockers at this point in their careers?
I’m not sure that I would. Thought Brockers was terrific this season.

Donald, Joseph-DayYou get watt Team him up with Donald, let fox go. Instant upgrade. He will be affordable for us and he wants a ring. Nough said. Go rams

and Brockers, with Watt (in Fox’s role), Robinson (big cap #) and Gaines in reserve.
That’s a lot of talent, and cap space for one position group.
Just don’t think it works for a team that needs to create about $25-30M of cap space just to do business.
In fact, I think Brockers would have to be moved; and I thought he was terrific last year.
For me this would be more about an opportunity to give AD pass rush help.
For a basketball analogy, AD is like LeBron - the other pass rushers just have to hit open shots, which they did last year. IMO our defense became elite because of SJDs massive jump and Floyd - for run defense.
When AD was out against the Packers, everyone looked like a JAG. So we could run it back and bank on AD being healthy - which may not have won us the game anyways - OR we can upgrade something that's a relative weakness, which is our pass rush.
The right thing to do IMO to make this team better is to let every UFA walk, restructure contracts, sign Watt and a center, cut A'Shawn, Young and a few others to make the space if needed. Brockers would be a last resort but I'd do it if necessary.
Should the Rams lose Floyd, I also think finding another pass-rusher is a top priority ...
