Am I crazy to think if they don't resign Shelton they could start an OL of AJackson LT, Noteboom LG, Avila C, IDotson RG, Havenstien RT?

I think thats a good looking OL
hmmmmmm..... me likey
--someone in another post said Avila played a season or two at C??

Or if they draft Cooper Beebe and move Avila to center…
I think Avila is good where he’s at. He’s left handed which makes the left side a natural fit for him. That makes a difference. Dotson had been a right guard in college but the Steelers moved him to the left side and the Rams moved him back to the right side and he said that he was much more comfortable there. He had his best season as a pro. Not a lot of left handed centers. I think Avila could handle the move but he played so well as a left guard why change things. Lots of free agent options at center including Shelton and several good centers available in the draft.

Now that's a commitment to the position.

Wow if they could get Jackson Powers Johnson at center they could probably run the ball even if the box is full.
From your lips to god's ears!
I’d rather have the WV center - Frazier. Especially since you can get him later instead of at 19. That’s too high for a OC imo
#19 for a C is fine. Especially a 6'3" 335 lb center on a rookie contract for 5 years!
Jackson Powers Johnson sounds like an accounting firm.
Yes. Getting him would account for the #1 Offense in the NFL

Hell, with an OL like that, might be a good idea to ask Stafford to extend since he'll be protected for the next 5 years! :ROFLMAO:

Best RG Since Adam Timmerman, Rams had to keep Dotson and they did. Thank you Pittsburgh.
Saffold at guard was great the last few years with Rams -- Pro Bowl level -- Dotson needs to do it for more than one year, but yes, it was a steal in the trade and if he can play as well in the next few years as he did this year, I am with you ... then he'd be best since AT

Saffold's issue early was he was always hurt, like Noteboom. But Dotson should be a Pro Bowler next year

I agree with this. I'm definitely not on board with JPJ at 19. Everything depends on how FA shakes out, but currently our D is certainly not Superbowl caliber.

To be fair, the DT talent is is not high in this class. JPJ wasn't even a sure 1st round talent until that senior bowl. I'm just not on board with drafting a center that high. If one of those top OT's fall, sure, most of them can play OG next season with Avila at center and then we have depth at OT going forward.

I’d happily take any one of them. That’s 10. I’d probably start looking elsewhere for a better source of draft information.

Front office taking care of business, getting the key guys like Dotson and Robinson resigned and cutting ties with the likes Hoecht and Roseboom. Gets an A grade so far.

Wasn’t Boom at LG less than optimal, can someone refresh my memory? I thought he was only a tackle and could back up guard if he had too.

Him and Saffold were different players if memory serves me correct. Turns out Saffold was an Ironman at guard.

Anyone you don't like in this draft?

Can you imagine if the Rams drafted that stud center (JPJ?) in the first round? They could ROLL OVER the whiners defense.
JPJ has had a few injuries and is not polished. He’s got a lot of technique to work on. I don’t like him at 19. I’d rather they go Corner, DT, OT or edge.

That would be a big step backwards. Noteboom is a good backup. I don’t want him starting.

They are letting Hoecht go?

They’re already trying to re-sign Shelton, so I don’t think the Rams have any intention in moving Avila to Center.
