Am I crazy to think if they don't resign Shelton they could start an OL of AJackson LT, Noteboom LG, Avila C, IDotson RG, Havenstien RT?

I think thats a good looking OL
You crazy. Shelton doesn’t sign they will add an IOL in R2/R3 for sure.

I’m not going to be greedy but the Rams must draft one OL with either their R1 or R2 pick.

For LT:
-R1 LT could start this year. Kick Ajax into LG. Avilla to OC.
-R2 LT can understudy this year. Let Ajax start and move him to RT when Hav moves on
For OC:
-Slight trade down and pick up JPJ in later R1.
-If JPJ falls use R2 to pick up Frazier or Beebe. Frazier would start at OC. Beebe could start at LG. Kick Avilla into OC.

FEED THE BEAST!!!
I don’t think they’ll draft a center in rounds one or two, unless they plug all of their holes and there isn’t anyone available when they pick, who is on their board at a more valued position. So if there’s a corner, Edge, DT, LT that trumps center

Totally Agree here because I do not like to move someone to Center, who has not played it or has not played it for a while like Avila. Just because he played Center his first year in college does not mean it will translate to the next level.

I would be concerned with the snaps and line adjustments although I am sure Avila would adapt the snaps are always concerning. Coleman Shelton was solid last year, still needs to improve on stunts and ensuring he is in the right position, but IMO, I would keep Steve Avila at LG too.

Have all of us forgotten the the Ausitn Corbett experiment? I realize Bobby Evans factored into the equitation, but Corbett had issues with the snaps too.
Yes, count me into the camp of not moving Avila mostly cause he's on his way to be a dominant (and yes, dominant not dominate is right!) guard. But... I think there's a tiny chance were we might end up with someone who could even be a better player at LG and therefore it might be worth moving him.

Small small chance. Think we're better off looking for a solution at center though than moving him. Especially with this center class/Shelton resign on deck.

This deal will come back to haunt us.

He is not good in pass pro in the biggest moments.

See 8:33 of this video and convince me otherwise...

Is that the worst one you could find? Shelton overcommitted to the left which left big hole for dline to push by. Not saying it was a super clean rep by any stretch for Dotson but wasn't terrible. He can get better but was overall good compared to some of the past guards we've had. Plus he's a road grader in the run game.

I very much that Turner will be available at nineteen. If he is, it’s a no-brainer.

Verse and/or Latu might still be on the board, though, and I would gladly take one of them to bolster our pass rush.

In fact Latu might be a perfect fit.I watched the combine drills & certain things always stand out.

When Latu was doing the rushing the QB drill coming around the Edge was as good as I’ve EVER seen. The way he plants his foot & turns the corner is as good as it gets. A QB/Rb will be caught.
—This is when Reggie comes into play.He will give the okay on his health.
Verse is going to be the most powerful & traditional pass rusher.

I’d happily take any one of them. That’s 10. I’d probably start looking elsewhere for a better source of draft information.
Wait, so you can name 10 DT's in this draft and it proves my point incorrect? How so? Most people who are knowledgable about the draft think this isn't a great DT class. I never once stated that there wasn't ANY talent in it....

He played center 2 of the 3 years he was in college. He can certainly play center if that is where he is needed. I'd say the only reason we should do this is if we draft one of those top OT's and still retain Jackson. Bump the rookie OT to OG and bump Avila to C. That should improve our line from last season and set us up for a OT of the future.

That's proving your point? Seriously? Do guards never get beat in pass pro? And it was a completed pass?

No one is saying he doesn't need to work on some stuff but the best guards get beat from time to time. But he was simply one of the best guards overall last year. You don't just throw that production out in hopes of finding something better. I guarantee you can find "proof" that HOF guards miss blocks from time to time - even in the biggest moments.

Y'know what? That was also a "biggest moment" for that D-lineman. It's the D-lineman's job to set up the guard so that he can get by his counterpart. I suppose by your metrics, if he gets stonewalled once then he is a crappy D-lineman. Stafford threw some pick sixes. He obviously sucks. Kupp dropped a couple passes. Get rid of him. Kyren fumbled the ball. Fucking stiff. Donald didn't have a single sack in that game. There's got to be someone better to replace him..................

I would have to see him at Center and I will try to find some plays on YouTube, but understood that if they draft at LT, but IMO, they are going WR in round one, however, if they draft someone for LT, I would be okay with it as long as they have a decent backup plan.

No on moving Avila to center. He was obviously great at LG, makes no sense to disturb him further developing there. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Anyone you don't like in this draft?
IDK if you've heard but this is a unique loaded/stacked draft. Why?

Well there is several different factors:
1. You have the normal rotation cycle players that were coming out.
2. You have the Super Juniors/Seniors ( players that are running out of their 5 or 6 years of eligibility due to 2020 pandemic).
3. Probably the most important reason is the first NIL class is here that have stayed in college more years than they usually would have in the past and would have left already for the NFL, and they are all coming out together.

Now, again, let's go over why there are so many good, meaningful prospects in this 2024 draft class. If you are going to trade down multiple times and load up out of any draft, this is the one to do it.

Sorry I re-read my message and it definitely sounds like I'm being a dick and discounting or berating you which wasn't my intention one bit. My Bad.

I doubt you could do that, you should just go read a half wit like EllenBooger's X posts and parrot it on here.

Exactly.
McVay talked of continuity, and what have they done? Tendered Ajax (albeit half-heartedly), re-signed Dotson and talked openly about the desire to bring back Shelton.
Doesnt seem like swapping positions makes for much continuity

Interesting, I had read that NIL had really hollowed out rounds 5-7 this year and most likely years to come with guys who would have come out staying.
