Don't want to get crazy here or anything but if they were to draft a LT now at 19 holy shiite.

Also I am wondering what they think of McAllister. He might be ok between those two snot bubbler OGs. :bomb:

Am I crazy to think if they don't resign Shelton they could start an OL of AJackson LT, Noteboom LG, Avila C, IDotson RG, Havenstien RT?

I think thats a good looking OL
If they like Avila at Center what they should do...

LT: DRAFT PICK AT 19
LG: Jackson
C: Avila
RG: Dotson
RT: Havenstein

No Avila to center. Absolutely not. He’s too valuable at Guard.

Resign Shelton and AJ,

If you can only sign one, draft the others replacement. The OL gelled perfectly. Don’t fuck it up by moving people around.

Getting Shelton done is the biggest one IMO. The Rams got rid of Brian Allen so I’m pretty sure that is just about a done deal? The reason I say that is because of what The Rams said early about signing..Plus to find his TRUE value. He brings that leadership & MENTOR type Mcvay likes.

BTW - LOVE The DOTSON signings.

If Jake Ellenbong. Is right. The Rams trade up for Joe Alt Notre dame..He says because of a Tams connection to him.

I’ll let the next 2 weeks play out before eyeing the Draft.

IIRC, when the season ended Ramsnation consensus for re-signing our own was #1 Dotson, #2 D Rob. Mission accomplished.

Yep. Going into the offseason, I wanted both Dotson and Robinson re-signed, Jackson and Hoecht retained/tendered.
Three out of four ain’t bad and Hoecht might still return.

Next up is Shelton.

I’m digging what the Rams have done so far.

I agree so much, but I really like Witherspoon as well.I think he has so much growth.Once again Jake ellenbong did an interview with him.Right now if he had it all together to play the Lions he could play better. That St.Brown was a Monster. Witherspoon is a taller CB that I like who has good hands .Cobie Durant is to small, but does well inside.Even though he could struggle against bigger WR’s/TE’s he has excellent hands & speed. The Rams can cover him up & he is tough enough to handle it.

I love speed & those defensive players that have it would fit so well with SHULA’s Defense. I think that is his vision as well going into the Draft. If your looking at WHY THE RAMS lost to DETROIT there was 1 PLAY !!! 4th & GOAL!! HOECHT 1 ON 1 giving up that TD !!
Well actually I give him & The RAMS Defense credit.

4 & 1 at the 2 yard line.Tough defensive play call.Hoecht let Sam LaPorta score across the middle exposing his weak cover skills. That said I think he should be brought back, but this Ochean Mathias is what gets me excited. He didn’t really get a training camp & his size & speed is special. The Old Nebraska Days is what I’d like to see. Nick Hampton is another OLB that got playing time & has 3 more seasons.

—Give The Rams Dallas Turner & Payton Wilson with there 1st. 2 Draft PICKS !!!!

Dallas Turner IMO just from the combines is an athletic freak ?

Payton Wilson - man I saw his numbers,His speed, & his game film. I would actually try to trade back to get him by moving up with an earlier 2nd rd. pick.

The way he comes of the edge impressive. He is like an animal hunting down his PREY !! He would fit so much BETTER than Lake. Perfect player next to Ernest Jones if he signs for the next 4 years.Having those 2 at say MLB in a Hybred Defense would be Excellent.

Add Dallas Turner who could Cover & Rush The Edge !! The don’t forget BRYON YOUNG !!! He had to hold The Edge, but let him loose & have a player like Payton Wilson having the speed to close the Edge from inside out making the sidelines closer ?

Mathias is a Player who has such long arms he can contain inside & close those slants by just getting his hands up & filling the gap on quick 3rd step drops.
— Sounds easy ,but exciting.

Securing the inside for Matthew Stanford is HUGE. Steve Avila & DOTSON do that. That Creed Humpies passing really stings because 3 out of those 3 years KC & The Rams have won the SuperBowl, but Brian Allen really clogged that CENTER development in the sense of Talent.

I will always be a John Sullivan (Ram Fan) & say his Legacy still lives between The 2 Teams. He was very smart & Brian Allen was a part of it,to my dismay.

Austin Blythe & Coleman Shelton both were undersized players as Guards.Brian Allen (Bonify’d) was Never a GUARD. Either should have been either of those other 2. We as Ram Fans once again saw what it looks like having 2 Road Graters at Guard.

Austin Blythe went to KC & really IMO helped Mentor Creed Humphreys as he did with Allen & Shelton.I guess that’s why I’d like to see Shelton back & mentor a (young )Rams Center for the future.

It's almost as good as nailing a submarine with a depth charge! ~ @blackbart
I prefer to degauss my submarines to avoid depth charges. I learned everything I know from coach Ratboy degaussing the whiners from superbowl trophies. @Loyal

Watching Creed struggle to hike the ball to PH eased that sting a lot for me.

Totally Agree here because I do not like to move someone to Center, who has not played it or has not played it for a while like Avila. Just because he played Center his first year in college does not mean it will translate to the next level.

I would be concerned with the snaps and line adjustments although I am sure Avila would adapt the snaps are always concerning. Coleman Shelton was solid last year, still needs to improve on stunts and ensuring he is in the right position, but IMO, I would keep Steve Avila at LG too.

Have all of us forgotten the the Ausitn Corbett experiment? I realize Bobby Evans factored into the equitation, but Corbett had issues with the snaps too.

I very much that Turner will be available at nineteen. If he is, it’s a no-brainer.

Verse and/or Latu might still be on the board, though, and I would gladly take one of them to bolster our pass rush.

The more I thought about this contract the more I appreciate it. It may be a little on the high side according to some but it's only guaranteed for two year and only 3 years total. So if there is a regression or injury the Rams aren't tied down to it for long. Also gives Dotson plenty of motivation to ball out because if he plays another three years the same way he played this last year he'll be in for an even bigger payday at the end of it. Win/win for both sides I think.

Patience, I’m guessing the Rams will go after either Floyd or Mack after he gets released. The Bargers sit at $20M over the cap. They cut Mack and they’ll be +$3M.

After he is cut he’s playing for a chip. The Rams will negotiate with him and Floyd.

They’ll pick the best perceived value and then be able to pick BPA in the draft. They may have to wait on decisions until AJ and Shelton get offers first.

The cap is expected to go up over the next few years. By then this contract will look even better.

Thats fair. Kiper had him as 1st though as I'm sure others did. Also, he wrecked the combine. Mitchell was insanely productive in college. Lastly, CB is a far more valuable position IMO and most of the NFL's (just look at the salaries and draft slots). Mitchell would save us a lot more money over his rookie contract.

In the end, just resign Shelton so we can load up our defense. Our line was good last year.
I’m not going to be greedy but the Rams must draft one OL with either their R1 or R2 pick.

For LT:
-R1 LT could start this year. Kick Ajax into LG. Avilla to OC.
-R2 LT can understudy this year. Let Ajax start and move him to RT when Hav moves on
For OC:
-Slight trade down and pick up JPJ in later R1.
-If JPJ falls use R2 to pick up Frazier or Beebe. Frazier would start at OC. Beebe could start at LG. Kick Avilla into OC.

FEED THE BEAST!!!
