I love how quickly players are deemed selfish. Meanwhile, he is an incredibly talented player still, he showed that earlier this year. And when he signed with the team, it sure seemed like there was a bigger role for him potentially if he could stay healthy, and he has. So look at it from his POV, signs a deal with a home town team, played for the HC prior so he's expecting big things to earn some cheddar before the clock runs out.
Then? They draft a guy in his spot, draft a WR/TE and have an UDFA WR make the team. Then his role is all but eliminated. Sure doesnt sound to me like a deal he would have signed up for. Who would?
Sorry, but I dont think "we not me" means, "we can make promises we dont plan on keeping"

The 49's, Seachickens and Cards are loving this news and I'm shaking my head in disbelief. Desean my man, there is no such thing as being 100% happy. There is only being less unhappy than you were before. I think you will find later in life, as you reflect, you really let go of a good thing while chasing a mirage.

With Jefferson, Tutu and Harris the Rams are very deep at WR.
Keep in mind that Kupp has a tendency to get hurt. And it's a 17 game season this year. And when you remove him having a depth option like DJax would be immensely valuable.

It's just a fucking shame his ego can't take that he was beaten out. The guy must have thought McVay would play him because they were buddies or something. Jefferson IMO needed a push too, or at the least the competition from DJax was good for him. But DJax was never going to be a primary threat in this offense unless Jefferson tanked in year two.

Now if we lose Kupp our depth looks way worse. This is why I'm pissed about DJax being DJax.

So playing time adjustments are being made and my guess is some of the affected players are expressing displeasure. No sense in keeping disgruntled players around whose roles have already diminished. I don’t think there will be any trade partners for Jackson but I hope I am wrong.

I'm seeing DJax traded to Saints for a 6th rounder. They are woefully shallow at WR and could really use a deep threat with Winston. I really hope Tutu can step into the deep role, since thats what they drafted him for. That said, I think Jefferson or Harris could easily do that. Jefferson has sneaky 4.3 speed.

Are you his mom or something? There are 53 guys on the team, who knows when your number is going to be called.

But to be on a team with a shot to win a SB in your hometown....GEESH those opps dont come up that often. If he really requested a trade...thats speaks volumes to character.
No I'm not his mom.

But contrary to what may be popular belief, everyone doesn't play for the same reasons.

Some may realize it's a business and play for money and try to make as much as they can while they are still able.

Some may be fine be sitting on the sidelines of a winning team for the chance at a ring while hardly contributing.

At the same time this might be agony for others.

Some may simply love the game so much they want to play as much as they can while they still can even if it means they don't get a ring.

And then there are some that may go for the rah rah let's go team perspective which fans not putting their bodies on the line prefer.

Chances are a player can feel each of these things at different points in their careers.

I simply don't begrudge these guys for whatever perspective.

Should open up a few more opportunities for Tutu. Limit hits to him and letting him fly. Because we all know that if McVay sends Tutu across the middle with a chance to get smacked, McVay will be tried for involuntary manslaughter with Tutus size.

You're right we don't know. But I do know him wanting out hurts our depth and that pisses me off.
Yea it does for sure. We're one injury away now from an average WR core. But Van's development has been nice and I'm not gonna lie, getting Tutu on the field + saving cap room is exciting. I hate the idea of wasting picks. That's why I wasn't mad at the Kenny Young move either. But also, we haven't seen Jacob Harris at all this year and I wonder if his snaps will creep up now.

Yeah it would be cool if down the road this ends up helping us out. But this one is seriously under my skin right now sigh.

Well I don’t know how you’d do it different. LMAO as well!! Really LOL
if you & all your Jacob Harris talk. The skin your probably talking about is the one that got snipped off 60 years ago & should find away to be getting excited he is getting close to playing a couple snaps.

—Ben Sko is a nice WR that brings a good skill set.I actually like the way BOTH he and Harris get down the field on special teams as well.
I watched Van Jefferson doing last season with Josh Reynolds.Comparably they are better.
—Tutu is a guy Kevin O’Connell has been starting to help build up his confidence. He is smooth & has good hands. The injury because of size is what I’m afraid of being his issue.

I get your concerns, but at 6-1 The Rams are in good shape.I’m around Niner & Seahag Fans all the time. There is a touch of pride those 2 teams have lost from there Fan base.
I know the feeling & both teams are good. I also have thoughts there.

Asking for a trade 3 days before the deadline doesn't guarantee he'll be leaving the Rams just yet, although if McVay feels there might be a locker room problem brewing, ... who knows where that would take us.

It was just a few weeks ago that Robert Woods went to McVay about targets, and following that he went 12 of 14 for 150 yards, his most productive of 2021. Since that game, his targets are less again. Stafford does need to spread the ball around better to keep the peace.

At the beginning of the season a few of us thought we might see more 10 personnel considering how deep and fast at WR we had become coupled with the loss of Everett to free agency. McVay has basically opted to maintain mostly 11 personnel sets, even with Mundt now out. We could get D. Jax more involved, although it's our coaching staff that is seemingly aiming elsewhere.
jmo.

I hope he leaves. Didn't want his ass here to begin with. He obviously isn't interested in a championship. He's interested in stats. That's not a team player.

Well, its not like Atwell, Harris or Skowronek have taken any reps from him. Its more of a case of him being behind Kupp, Woods and Jefferson, who were all on the team when he signed.

If we trade him, I hope the next guy we get is the icing on the cake.

Jefferson is not as good as Jackson at tracking a deep ball. I'm worried that safeties won't be as deep and the intermediate routes won't be there as often. That's what happened after we traded Cooks.

I hope this doesn't end up being a mistake. He's made two of the biggest offensive plays of the season considering the timing and both being on 3rd and long.

This almost certainly means a move is coming which will make me happy I'm sure - but cant fault him at all for wanting to play. I wish we would be rotating all four WRs to keep them healthy.
