I like David Edwards starting @ LG once again & want Darious Williams starting @ outside corner.

I just rewatched Edwards' snaps, and he changed the game. He was manhandling people at the point of the attack. He whiffed on a second level, once that I saw, which Noteboom would probably be better at, but wow I bet Goff feels a hell of a lot more comfortable with Edwards up front.

I like our back rotations. You hit em with bruising runs with Brown. Then comes Henderson with his explosive speed. And Akers does a little of both. Very promising. Hope Akers is ok.

For those of you who follow the Game Day Menu Thread....

Now you know why I had chicken wings on the menu today!!!
More like Eagle wings!!!!!!!

Great all around game and gameplan. Well done fighting off the comeback. Henderson and Higbgeast!!! Prior too this game I wasn't a fan of Kupp handling the PR duties. I'm really not now, and not just because of the fumble. You shouldn't have a 1000yd receiver exposed to that IMHO.

I think when it was 21-3 McVay took his foot off the gas and put the offense on cruise control for a little while. Then after the Kupp fuck up and halftime break, he opened up the playbook again

Didn't get to see the game due to son's soccer, but followed it on my phone. Was great that the Rams sucked it up in the 4th quarter and put the game away after apparently letting the Eagles get back into it for a while.

GREAT job in the running game ... 191 yards. You won't lose many games when you run for yardage like that. I've seen a few highlights and read some other posts here ... did Edwards actually start in place of Noteboom, or did the Boom get hurt (hope it's just the former). I like Edwards in that spot better though, and at this point I think they should just get Noteboom his reps at LOT in practice on days that Whit gets his rest and if we get in a situation with a big lead and Whit can sit.

Looking at the stat line, it seemed like the Eagles moved the ball decently against us, but looks the D made plays when it counted. Higbee's hat trick was impressive. Woods was quiet, but that's how it goes with this offense having so many weapons, especially with 191 yards on the ground and Goff only having to put it up 27 times.

Great game by Henderson as well. Very satisfying win, very satisfying 2-0 start.

I won't be upset if someone posts a link to the game later ...

Sure it's just bruised ribs. Having a 225lb dude jump on you with the football under your chest pads is going to hurt. He'll be in the ice bath this week.

Players of the game:
1. I asked Rams to #FreeGoff not disappointed.

2. How about O'Connell sticking with the run game? Makes things easier for Goff, huh?

3. Woods and his contributions as a blocker sealing that edge!

4. Ramsey - I heard his name called once. Once. Shut down his side of the field.

5. Edwards - way to be ready and play.

6. Entire team - 3,000 miles away and playing through the entire 60 for the W.

Amazing game! I bitched and bitched about McVay ditching the run last year but i'm amazed at the offense's turn around. Game ball goes to McVay and the Defense.

I think last year was a combination of OL injuries and a lack of faith in TG3

Yeah I think Williams is our CB2 in terms of who's better. To my eye it's not close between him and Hill. Williams is more consistent snap to snap and he's improving still.

That said Hill is valuable don't want to act like he hasn't done good things for us so far. I'm really happy with the DBs as a whole in fact and they're going to get better as a unit as the season goes on. This is a new defense after all and they're playing pretty well considering how terrible they were in zone as a unit a year ago.

Happy days.

Game only close at the half/ start of 3rd because we giftwrapped them a TD.

Loving the blend this O has. Woods and Kupp never in doubt, add Van Jefferson to the mix, 3 RBs that each offer something different, and a line that looks like it has learnt from last year. Edwards may be an upgrade over Noteboom.

Secondary excellent today, Floyd set the edge, Kiser tackled well and Young flashed.

The contract manoeuvring with Robinson may prove to be a masterstroke if he feels confident to play seeing lack of positive Covid cases around the league. Would make a huge difference to the defensive line. Lack of pressure besides Donald is the big concern still.

But thats for another day. Tonight its time to celebrate.

That may have had more to do with Gurley not getting it done last year ... because we tore them shreds today

You may be right there. I do think sometimes that McVay could squeeze more points if he wanted but he dials down risk. So yeah I can see that.

There's been talk by Jourdan that Hill is the nickle back or he moves from CB2 to Nickle in those situations. Could grow in the future tbh.

Things to worry about have been reduced to a very short list, huh?

I still think that the Rams are a potential 12-13 win team.

My concerns have been whittled down to the following and in no particular order:

I think we need better pressure from our edge players. Too much standing around and sealing the edge, if you ask me.

Sloman is starting to really concern me.

Obviously, I hope that the Akers and Boom injuries are minor.

That’s about it, really.

Some questions that I had had previously have pretty much been answered.

RB trio seem fine.

OL looks better than fine. I thought that they were impressive.

Kiser not only has proven to not be a weakness, but is playing like a stud! Helluva game for the young man, I’m happy to say.

Finally, I predict that this team and these units have not yet come close to peaking. Just wait until midseason, y’all.

No doubt. And I never got too tied up in who was outside the hashes tbh because either way it's a starter role so it's kind of splitting hairs.

What I wonder about is Long. I was hoping he could have started pushing for some time by now.
