This makes sense. We apparently can't trade him in time to avoid the bonus due tomorrow. Maybe he restructures, but if not he's only $3m.
After losing Watkins and not getting Eifert we need playmakers. Like to see the coaches work with him for a full preseason, draw up some better plays, and see if we can tap some of the potential that he has shown at times in the past.

There can still be a trade. Teams weren't willing to step up, because they figured the Rams would cut him and they could get him for a possible lower salary and no pick. Now if they want him they have to give up a pick.
Plus McVay is an optimist - he likely feels that he can somehow get Tavon to run crisper routes or not dance around.

He averages 4 yards every time he touches it and it was over 5 before week 17. Teams have to respect the speed. I’m happy - assuming the cap number is reasonable.

Don't really understand the hate boner for Tavon other than the contract he signed and the yips he had at punt returning. I'll still have the punching bag reserved with Jeff Fisher's face for greenlighting that contract to begin with.

Eeeenteresting, I'm actually okay with this. I want to see the incentives... if they're unlikely to be hit unless he turns into a monster receiver this year, I love it. Those incentives will never affect the cap then, unless he's amazing and then, hey, great!

And fumbled every 17 touches last season. About every 25 touches for his career.

How many of the fumbles were on muffed punts? That's not the same thing as fumbling on offense. He had the yips on punts last year. I don't know what happened.
