So we came to him and said, either you restructure this year, taking between 1-2 million probably, or we cut you?
Tavon’s options
1. Take the $5M and go hit the market for a new contract now.
2. Stay on the restructured deal, hope to hit $3 Mil and know that this year is a tryout for the other 31 teams.
Rams Perspective: They save at least a little cash, and will have a VERY MOTIVATED Tavon Austin. They don’t get any compensation for him...but oh well.
Tavon’s perspective: He must know he had a really down year, so his value can only go up. He gets to stay on a team that he seems to love and an offense that should give him the best opportunity to showcase himself.
