And I'm okay with that. You're demonstrating what the alternative is. Getting angry about it.
Yeah, that's on my to-do list.

I'm gonna be blunt, and it's gonna pee pee off a lot of people, but what's new, right? I'm kind of a dick, I'm told.

Getting worked up over what OTHER men achieve or don't achieve is silly to me. It's entertainment. Sure, everyone likes to be entertained, and it would be nice if the Rams provided more in the way of entertainment, but hand wringing and contempt over mediocre results? lol. Some of y'all need to see a Buddhist. Or a hooker. Honestly, if people would just let go of the things they can't control, it would open up a whole new world. A world where you can have instant reactions and then just let it float away. A world where you can find just as much enjoyment communing with your fellow fan (e.g,. posting on ROD). A world where Jeff Fisher or Kevin Demoff or Stan Kroenke or Case Keenum aren't the devil. They're just people too, trying to make the most out of life with the hand they were dealt.

BUT THE RECORD!!!!!!!
MEDIOCRITY!!!!!!!!
I SPEND MONEY ON THIS!!!!!!!!
NOOOOOOOOODLE ARRRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol. You wanna carry that around with you?
K. Have a blast.

Wanted to give this a like, high five, cheers and thread winner!

But then again I have a bias towards KD. He's a ROD member who's been kind enough to do three interviews with us. Once he popped in before the draft and hung out with us here. So if the staff seems to be protective of his reputation, not that he needs us to do that for him, that's why.
Me too. He has been very responsive to me personally and also helped us when we were putting together the memorial to Rich. I emailed him about the picture I am holding in my avatar and he got back to me several times to let me know the status. One day, here is this package with a signed, anodized, picture of me, Selassie, and my dad at the opening day game last season. Who does that for the fans?

Other than that, Demoff is extremely well respected in the NFL. If Stan let him go, he would last all of 2 seconds on unemployment.

It seems to me that everyone and their brother knows that Stan hired Fisher. He put on the full court press, meeting with him one on one on at least a couple occasions. Fisher acknowledged that Stan (and Demoff) were keys to him taking the job with the Rams over that of the Dolphins.

I just think the OP is way off base here. I have been a Rams fan for 48 years now and I'm not sure I've seen anyone I'd hate to lose more than KD.

Rams move aside, the football problems sit squarely on his shoulders. Let me count the ways:
  • Responsible for Hiring Fisher/Snead
  • Putting up with mediocre football for four+ years and was about to ink Fisher/Snead to an extension if they came out winning in 16'.
  • Was ready to re-up Bradford prior to 14, then again in 15' until his agent wouldnt renegotiate. Bradford is still no better than his rookie season-most fans were sick of his play-not Demoff. If his agent was willing, he would have been re-upped
  • Allowed for the organization to trade 6 picks for a QB that apparently still insnt "ready" to play NFL football.
  • Did not forecast correctly the value of Jenkins and McCleod and missed an opportunity to lock them up before 15' season.
  • Let Foles walk for 6mm. Bad decision and you saw why you keep that chip. He could have held it longer. Look what Eagles got for Bradford (1 & 4). Perhaps Foles would have went for a 3rd?
  • Locked up Austin, who's numbers are no where near they should be for the investment.
  • Sensabaugh decision. Driven mostly by the guys he hired, but it was a $5mm mistake.
If Stan is wise, he will clean house from top to bottom. The first decision in correcting the issue, since Demoff is not capable of correcting, is making a change at the top of Football Operations of the LA Rams.

I disagree with almost everything you have posted.
  • Responsible for Hiring Fisher/Snead - I believe this was Stan.
  • Putting up with mediocre football for four+ years and was about to ink Fisher/Snead to an extension if they came out winning in 16'.- On Stan.
  • Was ready to re-up Bradford prior to 14, then again in 15' until his agent wouldnt renegotiate. Bradford is still no better than his rookie season-most fans were sick of his play-not Demoff. If his agent was willing, he would have been re-upped - Fisher has final say on Personnel.
  • Allowed for the organization to trade 6 picks for a QB that apparently still insnt "ready" to play NFL football.- Not his call. Fisher has final say.
  • Did not forecast correctly the value of Jenkins and McCleod and missed an opportunity to lock them up before 15' season. - Possible, but if Fisher had pushed, they would have been locked up.
  • Let Foles walk for 6mm. Bad decision and you saw why you keep that chip. He could have held it longer. Look what Eagles got for Bradford (1 & 4). Perhaps Foles would have went for a 3rd? -Foles didn't walk. He was benched then traded by Fisher.
  • Locked up Austin, who's numbers are no where near they should be for the investment. -Again, Fisher has final say on who stays.
  • Sensabaugh decision. Driven mostly by the guys he hired, but it was a $5mm mistake. -Driven wholly by the guys Stan hired.

b4 I read any more...

What the fuck did Kevin do???? Seriously? I doubt he hired Fish....I know Fish hired Snead...

We're all upset....none moreso than I...but while I don't have much, I must continue to preach patience...Kevin Demoff is not responsible for the FO....other that the contracts....

And I'm almost positive the league guides his hands in the amounts, with Snisher telling him which players they'd like to retain....And I know Snisher, those two, are the ones hyping players...oh, we need him Kev....Oh, Tavon's gonna break out, sign him early....yada yada yada....:blah: Not Demoff...

His one area of expertise are the contracts, and I think he's doing a fine job....front loading...with lil if any dead money...

Keeping Demoff was actually a good decision during the 2012 purge.

Great choice at the time, roster was a dunghole, managed to rebuild it with excellent talent. Prefer keeping Snead but I'm open to seeing Fisher let go if we don't have a winning season

Hindsight was 20/20, was a high risk/high reward choice, and we ended up absorbing the risk

Would've rather traded a farm for a QB of the future than let our current talent play out their contracts for nothing.

Knowing their track record for developing players on defense, I'm not too upset with the losses

Enabled us to get rid of Bradford's ridiculous contract, allowing us to re-sign key FAs as well as get that extra 2nd round pick for Goff

It's a good investment in my opinion, Austin's a well-rounded weapon that allows us to take advantage of mismatches. Although I would like to see an offense-minded coach take the reigns of our offense to provide more mismatch opportunities.

Can't argue with that.

Overall, we've come pretty far from being a perennially garbage team to a perennially mediocre team. I still want Fisher fired but I'll give him the chance to prove that he can get us a winning season, although I'm doubtful about it. Demoff is the least of our problems, the FO decision-making has night and day compared to what we dealt with under Frontierre. If Fisher gets fired, hopefully the next coach will take advantage of our talent and provide much better preparation against teams outside our division.
Going to have to disagree with anyone claiming that management has done a good job rebuilding. Let us count the ways.
1. Did not get a good return from the draft haul we got from the Skins. Namely, they drafted the wrong Olineman in Robinson, when non-projects were available.
2. Failed to secure a QB when they could have had Carr or others at market rate resulting in mortgaging the future for, a thus far, unproven Goff.
3. Continually failed to address the decade-long need for a #1 WR.
4. If Goff doesn't work out they will have major egg on face as they litterally could have blindly thrown a dart at a board with QBs in this years draft and hit a winner.
5. Even after the boatload of picks they failed to build a decent OL.
6. While I like TA, there was no need to trade up to get him when they could have remained at their draft position and gotten a true #1 WR.

I'm sure there are more but these are just off the top of my head.

I don't know what Demoff does but just commenting on those who feel management has done a good job. It's difficult to tell who is responsible because there is much misinformation out there. In one article I read that Fisher pushed for Geoff and in another that he didn't want him. So rather than point a finger at one person, I lump them all into the category of management. I have no inside information as to who actually makes the decisions, but it appears you do, so I'll just assume you know what you are talking about.

Hmmmmm? From Jim Thomas NFL chat 11/01/16

Goff looks a lot like a Stan decision to me. Have to make a big splash in our new home, draft the kid from California, need a star to be the face of the franchise and fill my new palace of a stadium. Reminds me a lot of Bill Bidwell's decision to draft Steve Pzarkewitz (sp?).
http://www.ramsondemand.com/threads/jim-thomas-nfl-chat-11-1-16.47232/
Now he is showing why so many people had the reaction they did at the time. If, as appears likely, he is the next Ryan Tannehill, and the Rams have no first or third round draft choice in 2017, the Rams should get worse before they get better.

Has the look of a Kroenke/Demoff decision to me.

It really is scary how some fans go on a witch hunt and they have zero idea Who is charge of what in our organization. If this is the case and we lump all management together then the Equipment manager and public relations manager or horrible!! They didn't draft any good Qb's before Goff and they extended Tavons contract horribly! Who does that?

Really? Your gonna site your sources as a Jim " I'm butthurt and exagorate" Thomas chat? Really?

I'm just done. * drops mic*

lol. Cuz some random dude suggests as much, and Jim Thomas calls him the next Ryan Tannehill before a snap is taken?

K, Scoop. Keep up the investigation. You're really onto something here.

And what's wrong with Ryan Tannehill? Dude plays in a terrible organization and has averaged 4k passing yards, 25ish TD and a 90 passer rating the last 3 full seasons.
If that's the worst case scenario, we're in pretty good shape

Great post and advice all of us should take to heart.

Unfortunately, seems there are more fans out there (not just the Rams fan) that can't see the world of sports that way. I remember on another board, suggesting that maybe some members should find others things to do on Sundays if they were so upset with what was going on that they felt compelled to attack fans who accepted the fact that we have no control over what happens. There's always been only one way to gain some "control" and that's to stop contributing your hard earned money to the product. But that rarely happens on a large enough scale to effect change.

As the years have gone by, I am more accepting of the results every Sunday. I don't like losing but, what cha gonna do? I like this board because it doesn't allow attacking - either other members (especially that) or members of the organization. You know what I mean by the word attack.

So, it is what it is... maybe they beat CAR Sunday... hope so. If they don't, I'll be mad for a while - then get over it.

I don't see any sudden improvements under Fisher (based on a large sample of his work) but I'll just have to wait it out.

They're just people too, trying to make the most out of life with the hand they were dealt.
X, you sound like they're victims here... yes, they inherited a very bad team but they've had five years to improve it. They have improved it to a point, but I think we should have been in the playoffs by now and I expect they should get in the playoffs this year... maybe it happens.

"Making the most out of life"... these are extremely intelligent, extremely well paid men who have been entrusted to build a successful sports franchise.

So far, they have failed to do that. No victims there... just self-inflicted wounds.
