He will be resigned 100%. Dont think people understand how complicated our offense is, how much our WRs are asked to do in this offense, and how incredibly difficult it is to change teams mid season, pick up a new offense and be effective. He's been incredibly effective these last few games.

The real question is...after he resigns do we trade Woods? Do we want to invest that much $ at WR? Van Jeff has proven he deserves a starting role and is on his rookie contract still.

I know Bobby Trees is a great leader and teammate, but lets take the intangibles out for a second. Lets also keep in mind Odell is still learning a new offense after being thrown into the fire, and had zero chemistry with a brand new QB. So looking at their games, what does Woods do better than Odell??

-Block?? Okay yes. Woody has the edge.

-Run after the catch?? Maybe slightly Woods, but OBJ is very good at YAC. But for arguments sake lets give the edge to Woody.

-Route Running?? I'd say this is completely even, maybe an edge to OBJ. OBJ has a bigger route tree, and gets more separation.

-Hands?? OBJ has to have this edge Rob's hands are excellent, but OBJ's are next level elite. Arguably the best in the NFL for years.

-Deep Threat?? OBJ hands down. Woody can be effective down the field but not his game.

-Red Zone?? To me this isn't even close. OBJ is a consistent 1-on-1 nightmare. Slants and fades if hes not doubled are unstoppable in the red zone.

-Overall game speed/acceleration?? OBJ is quicker, faster and more explosive.

-Football IQ?? I would say Rob because I've seen him for years, but seeing how fast OBJ has learned this offense is so damn impressive. His ability to get forward progress today and keep the clock moving late was a prime example.
If you trade Woods, I'm pretty sure that accelerates the bonuses and would mean $12 million in dead cap.

I don't see it.

Agreed. We aren't going to be able to draft a talent like Odell in round 3 going forward either, so he's exactly the type of guy we need to offset that. Signing him comes with some risk given his history but he was a young guy and full of BS and the hope is he's maturing and can handle that contract and being a role model and all that. And he's a baller.

He also btw really fits with Stafford. 9 loves to throw balls in tight windows. It's irritating at times but it's who he is. And a guy like OBJ with those sure hands and ability to track the ball through traffic and DBs in his face and shit is a great match for a gunslinger QB.

People also seem to forget this isn't the first time McVay went after OBJ. I can't help but feel coach will go the extra mile to keep him around and after the Cleveland debacle you have to think OBJ is very interested in staying with a coach like him.

Couple things to add. I believe OBJ has been dealing with a hip injury the last few weeks. Tonight at Cardinals seems like maybe he's getting over that injury and his play was really nice tonight overall.

Also, Jalen Ramsey helped get OBJ signed on the Rams. I think that's good for two reasons. 1) May help OBJ to want to sign and stay with Rams after the season. 2) Ramsey may help keep OBJ on the straight and narrow, since Ramsey has been cool customer since leaving the Jags.

I miss DeShawn Jackson and was hoping he had some success with the Rams, but definitely happy to have, and hopefully keep, OBJ a Ram!

No doubt. And at his age he's gotta be capable of realizing there's more at risk right now than money. These are his prime years so choosing the right offense for putting up good numbers/legacy is kind of important. The way the Rams try to stretch the field plus him looking like a nice fit with Stafford's style of forcing tight throws it seems like they should be high on his list.

Next year Woods, Kupp, OBJ, and Jefferson are better than any other 4 WRs in the league.

WR: Woods, Kupp, OBJ, Jefferson & Skowronek

TE: Higbee, Harris & Blanton

RB: Michel, Akers, & Henderson

DL: Floyd, AD, Gaines, Miller

LB: Hollins, Jones, Lewis

CB: Ramsey, Rochell, Williams

Safety/LB: Rapp

Safety: Fuller & Burgess

QB: Stafford, Perkins

Rotational: B. Brown NT, Garrett OLB, Hoecht DT

Now that is a very good roster core with no holes in the starting positions. If everyone stays healthy the championship run is just beginning.

OBJ could be our Xfactor in the playoffs.

I love Woods as a team player but the Rams homer and Aikmen bias is a little overkill for Woods.

OBJ had 3 straight seasons with 1300 yards and avg 12 TD.

Woods has never had over 6 TD in a season or 1300 yards.

Not to disrespect Woods because he maximizes his talent, it’s just not elite level like OBJ in my opinion.

Man he looks fast as hell out there too. I think people forget he tore his ACL almost a year before we signed him. He was still not 100% in week 1 I'd imagine. So we got fully rehabbed OBJ back with a chip on his shoulder for the cost of a 4th stringer. I'll take that deal every time. It's weird to have such fortuitous luck signing him the day we have shit luck losing Woods. The NFL is wild and Snead is a great GM to traverse the jungle.

Loved it when it happened, love it now. I think people assumed he'd be more of a problem than he really is.
Hope he stays for the long haul.

Love it. Was skeptical at first as long as he kept his attitude in check. But listening to his pressers, and including post game last night, it's very clear that he's a matured man.

And watching him on the field, it's clear he's the same WR he was in NYG. I want to in the worst way, resign him.

I took my lumps when I was on "the trade for OBJ" train a couple years back, so obviously I'm thrilled at what we have in him now
Sadly, it's unlikely they will be able to afford to re-sign him because at the level he's playing there will be a big paycheck out there for him

In a limited role and limited understanding of the offense he's been huge for us especially tonight. Add to that the value that Van assigns to him as a mentor and I hope they find a way to keep him next year.
Really can't complain about anything OBJ had done, that play last night running out of bounds was amazing. My wife even asked, why is he running out of bounds? And I quickly said, he ran backwards, smart move. Glad he's in horns and with the running game improving, OBJ in play action is a total asset.

Based on his history I was not thrilled with signing him. The unfortunate injury to Woods has changed the dynamics in the WR room and allowed Beckham to see much more PT than he would have otherwise.

I’m happy to see him playing well, looks to be recovering and fitting in.

I would love to see him signed to a long term deal. How long is Woods contract??

Kupp, Woods, Beckham and Jefferson as #4. Looks pretty damn good.
